I would rather go to Meijer any day over Walmart. That is a very nice, new store. The Meijer in Middletown Ohio where I shop, is about 34 years old. It opened in 1987 and I remember going there on opening day.
Never heard of Meijer before today. I may be purchasing a home in Boardman, Ohio quite soon and videos such as these are very helpful. It has such a sweet, quiet town feel.
@SunshineStategrrl wonderful town. Wonderful people... Sunshine State girl? You come from Florida? That's my old stomping ground what I consider home? Hopefully I'll be going back within the next 2 years.. I can hear the ocean calling my name. Hahahaha 😆 Boardman is a wonderful place.. The schools. The people. It is a quaint town. How's the house hunting going?
Wallie...another top notch production, thank you! I also am hoping Meijer will come to Western Pa. I was in a Meijer in Indy about 15 years ago and really, really liked it. What a great shopping option it would be if we had them in Pa. I was reading an article somewhere that Giant Eagle has essentially locked them out of Western, Pa. I don't know how they could stop them, who knows? Keep up the great job, you are appreciated !
Yes it is open I'm so glad . I can't wait for them to start building ours in the Canton, OH area. Meijer bakery chocolate chip muffins are awesome. Btw I'm back to watching videos again. I took a break from TH-cam watching. The one thing I do like is the pet aisle setup. This store layout is the same as Tallmadge, OH location.
Meijer is an awesome store! I'd love to see Meijer open up here in Weirton,WV. I'd shop at their store! Meijer is a one stop shopping for everything that you need and want. Have a Meijerlicious Day! Stay awesome!
It’s typical Appalachia Ohio hospitality. I’m from the Cincinnati area (I call it Cincinnasty) and also lived in Columbus and Dayton. Same thing. Some of the most miserable parts of my life were spent in Ohio. People there have no polish whatsoever. I live in northeast Indiana now, and people are much more mellow here. People say “sorry” and “excuse me”. Far less “deep pink”-neck reaction. (Thanks TH-cam filters for being hyper-politically correct and deleting my comment over “that word”.......we all know it’s fab to be that now thanks to DJT)
@@Noone9227 Well, gee. There are a few of us goodie- two-shoes sprinkled through Ohio landscape. I say "hi" to everyone I pass, know them or not...tell a store manager I appreciate it if their store is clean, etc. I try.
@@skyebird3933 Yes, I do that as well, I always say excuse me, please and thank-you. It has nothing to do with "appalachia ohio" but it has everything to do with how you were raised.
@@pilotgrrl1during the start of the Pandemic I was in Illinois and there were a lot of Meijer Grocery stores and I grew up in the South nothing like a Meijer
Meijer store 320 is now open in the state of Ohio in boardman I have to take a trip there this summer I live in michigan and Meijer is my home great video best video ever!!!
They finally opened a Meijer up in the Cleveland suburbs. I shopped there for a Doordash customer a few days ago and finally walked around the store today. Very nice and clean store. The store in your video looks exactly like the one in Seven Hills. Good to know they have an in store vet.
Didn't know there was a Meijer in Boardman Ohio, my first experience with Meijer was when I was going to school in Lima Ohio years ago I think they were an all in one stop before Wal Mart became supercenters but I could be wrong
Coming from an employee, this store is like an alternate universe for me. It’s like everything is flipped on the other side of the store compared to where I work 😂but it’s really cool to see another perspective of being a customer. We also got a garden center at my location so it’s cool to see what other stores are up to
Gotta love Boardman..lived there for ten years..some peeps there are ignorant..thanks for sharing this with us..it will give wallyworld n target a run for the money..I also refuse to shop at either place in person except for items I can get shipped straight to my house..I'm only 25 min away in new castle pa so I'm sure we will go for a ride ourselves to check it out..another great vid..keep them coming..
That's cool!! Is it close to you guys? We need that in Flemington NJ!! Get rid of the nasty Wally World!!(Walmart). Can they please come to NJ? Do u know if they are planning on coming to NJ

Thanks for the tour, Wallie. I helped open our Meijer back in 2015. It took six weeks with over 200 people working to get it done. Lots of work definitely goes in it but from what I remember, I think you have a good idea yourself. I will say that our Meijer is nowhere NEAR this nice. I like that they seem to have abandoned the gray cement floors in favor of lighter tiles again. It was a suggestion I made a long while ago saying that the gray floor makes it seem way too dark in the store. And yeah, I'm still working there 6 years later. lol
In northwest Ohio it's almost like Michigan for number of stores, for example, in Toledo and it's suburbs there are 3 Walmarts and 6 or 7 Meijers, and they run toe to toe with Walmart, I predict Meijer is going to "Kmart" Walmart in another 10 or 20 years! lol
I’m “fixin’” on checking the place out tomorrow! I don’t know whatever happened to the plans on putting in a Meijer in the former Super Kmart in Niles/Warren. 🤔
We don't have Meijer here in Connecticut. Looks better than a Walmart. Spacious. I seen the almost near collision with a shopping cart. Meijer thought of everything.
Nice interior design. The Grocery section reminds me of an Aldi's or a small H-E-B. However, the store as a whole could be more comparable to a small Walmart, Target, K-Mart, or other "item cube" styled general store. Also I was not aware that there was a Vet office in the back of the store. So basically, this store is trying to be a physical embodiment of Amazon in which it is every store at the same time. Wonder what people would think of that idea?
I’m from Pennsylvania and I’ll take Meijer over Walmart any day. The last time I was in a Meijer it was thirty years ago when I lived in Michigan, I loved that store. Meijer please come to suburban Philadelphia or South Jersey.
Awesome store, very clean!I work in a supermarket and people like the guy who almost ran you over happens to mean all the time!Definitely would go here but would wait until it calmed down a bit.
So this is like a sams/giant eagle/Walmart combo? Of course no membership fee… this is nice. I might just take a look. Coming from Liberty area it’s just something I wouldn’t be able to do constantly. But I do love me a nice grocery store. Lol
Sometimes it is not uncommon for birds from the outside to fly into stores. They do at my Flemington NJ Walmart all the time. That might be what you are hearing
