Wendy's building with solarium, reused as an Italian restaurant, now to be demolished to make way for a Speedway. Wow. Always loved those solarium style restaurants. Used to have a KFC and a Burger King in different places with them. The KFC has since been either demolished or remodeled into a Dunkin (can't remember which, honestly), while the Burger King is now a Japanese restaurant, still has the solarium. Gas is about the same around me. A lot of us along the Hudson River in NY state are in the $2 to $2.30 range. I've seen ONE station at $1.99, and that's it. A Citgo station. Gotta say, I do love a good Speedway. Been racking up the Speedy Rewards points since all the Hess stations were converted. They usually have among the cheapest gas, too. 10 points per gallon, usually in the 8-9 gallon per fill up range. Another great video. Loved the little skit at the beginning, that made me laugh a good bit.
Many of the older fast food joints around Pittsburgh had solariums including my local Burger King in Shaler Township. I don't have any memory of it beinga Wendy's. Like I said on John's video, I'm pretty sure this was where Italian Oven was. That would have been between being a Wendy's and being Antone's. Italian Oven was a fantastic local chain of Italian restaurants. They had an Austintown location, I wanna say on Kirk where Charley's is now (don't quote me on that, I'm not sure) and they had a Hermitage location in the plaza next door to Kraynak's, in fact you could very distinctly smell their kitchen when you went to see a movie at Carmike, I remember sitting in that theatre Christmas 1994 seeing The Santa Claus and smelling pasta being cooked. Also, this was Antone's second Boardman location. When Antone's was closer to Poland in their first location, where Izumi's is now, they strangely had a drive-thru there as well. I have no memory of what that buidling had been originally but before it was Antone's it was a REALLY good Italian restaurant called Fazoli's, and they had some of the best pizza I've ever had.
So I could have this confused with a different Italian restaurant in the area, BUT, if this is the place I think it is was owned by two brothers. At some point recently they had a menu dispute that led to them splitting up and one kept the restaurant and moved it and the other opened a new restaurant in the area. Has been abandoned maybe 1-3 years.
The beauty of a gas station coming in is that at the very least, they will in all of those potholes. But PA is still over $2 a gallon? Yeesh, I paid a $1.35 this morning and filled my truck up for just over $15 bucks for a half a tank.
With everything going on here, it's no wonder the population is declining in Pennsylvania. We're tired of being taxed to death and paying so much for for things like rent, fuel, paying taxes for roadways which are in typically BAD shape, having the highest priced turnpike in the country. My goal is to live in coastal NC but in the mean time, I may have to move to Ohio. I like it very much there anyway.

@chrislemaster2695, I love Elk County, such a cool place. I loved seeing Elk out there, so beautiful. I remember going inside an empty house with my family as a child in the 90's. My grandparents ( RIP), and aunt and uncle used to live near Elk County and we camped there and once I threw up in the middle of the night in my family's camper as a child in the 90's 😢. I also remember seeing a sign for a McDonalds near a traffic light, I didn't know there were traffic lights there last time I went to see the elk with my parents in late 2000's/early 2010's or I didn't see that light or McDonalds either just the sign for them. But, Elk County is so pretty, I didn't go through all of it though.

When you were there you should have looked at the original Arby's. Store 1 is right up the street. The original building is across the street. Arby's doesn't own it anymore, but they want to
Back in 2000 we dined at that Pizza Hut, and there was another red roof Pizza Hut on the, SE, corner of US 224 and South Avenue that has been ripped down some years ago. It is a shame to see these iconic buildings designs gave way to the non stylish shoe boxes. I agree with Kayla, DD does not have the best donuts, Krispy Kreme has the best.
I'm not surprised. NY prices typically mirror PA prices. Sometimes still a few cents lower than us though. One reason I like going to Buffalo is because I travel through the Indian Reservation where they dont tax fuel.
Looked like that Dunkin' Donuts is closed. Are your restaurants closed there? Ours are as long as there is a drive thru or curbside service here in Lubbock. I was curious. Dunkin' Dinuts aren't as good as they used to be, I've tried them few years ago when we got them & I didn't like them as well. I like the mom & pop's type donuts (non-chain) a lot better.
I believe that Dunkin Donuts was open when I was filming. Around Ohio and PA most restaurants are still open via take out and drive thru only. Dining in isnt an option yet.

Waliei I love All Of your TH-cam videos.
Thank you very much! I really appreciate it!
Any Time wallie b26 As well buy a aboned place for your own retail business.
Ya have a good one
Thank you! Have a great day!
EVOO is an acronym for extra virgin olive oil.
Thank you!
@@WallieB26 I can see why you would want to live on the shores; it is very nice out there. If you did get out to Ohio, you would get to see Nate more often
@@unclejj2350 another reason I would move to Ohio at least for the immediate future. I have several more friends in Ohio than I do in PA at this point. Sure I have several here but in terms of seeing them, it's not as often as I do my Ohio friends.
@@WallieB26 if I get a chance to go to Ohio, I would love to go to Canton just to see the Pro Football Hall of Fame. This year's game will be between your Steelers and my Cowboys...that is if they get to play
An-Tones. How it's pronounced. Had 1 in Austintown & it closed.
"Monkey salad" (tuna) was so good.
Allot of Dago's in Youngstown also my Aunt and Uncle live in Boardman
The hay with Wendy's, I went to hardees in millvale today. 2 for 5 fish or roast beef. Drive thru only
Ugh. My first job was at a Hardees. Straight up nasty.
Despite Hardee's being right up the street from me, I havent had their food in a month. I get their breakfast more often than their lunch/dinner options. I dig the 2/$4 sausage and egg biscuits.
@@misterhat5823 one job I will never have is a fast food job. I've heard stories from every place but I just cant justify working your butt off for little pay.
Hey Wallie Ill be coming to Vist Pittsburgh in September I would like to show you some cool abandoned places in Elk County.
Sounds great!
I'd like cheese ravioli, fried calamari and eggplant👨🍳
Also also you should totally try an open Antone's sometimes, they are delicious
Next door was a former pizza hut closed in 2009.
Between the roof and the parking lot It was probably cheaper to change location
Their. Horseradish sauce makes arbys look limp
Still also-ing (I've been watching alot of CinemaSins lately LOL) I'd wager that refrigerator was probably from the still-open Plaza Donuts next door (another local place to try sometime)
Me and my sister Used to eat there all the time good food 🥖🥗🍝🍷🍰🥤🥧🥤🧁
Hey you should check out Oram's Donut Shop sometime located in on 7th. Avenue in Beaver Falls, open from 5:00 AM to 12:00 PM Monday thru Saturday, closed on Sundays
Wow 1.20 gas still 1.79 in Sanford ,Fl
Also cool Behemoth tee 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Can you revisit the kmart in Morgantown wv
I could however the store was repurposed into a Rural King. Could still do an update video from it though!
Yes please
Yes buy a closed fast food restaurant and turn it into The WallieB26 Museum. Stay safe.
The brown building at 11:13 was Pizza Hut
another Wendy's looks like i can't Get a 4 for 4 deal today with A junior bacon Cheeseburger, 4 chicken Nuggets, fries and a Sprite today because this Wendy's is Permanently Closed.
Lol
@@WallieB26 i know lol
Wallie's Place would be a nice restaurant.
I like the old buildings better then the new ugly look / born in November 1984
Me too. New designs are bland and boring.
I agree with Kayla, DD does not have the best donuts, Krispy Kreme has the best.
wallie gas in ny is over 2.00 to
I'm not surprised. NY prices typically mirror PA prices. Sometimes still a few cents lower than us though. One reason I like going to Buffalo is because I travel through the Indian Reservation where they dont tax fuel.
@@WallieB26 im not that far from the Indian Reservation one store 98 cent and some are 1.05
wallie its 98 cents now on the reservation now
Funny video, dude your like 10 min from my house
Thank you! Small world!
That menu was virtually unreadable in a drive-through context
I agree
Dunkin doughnuts is my favorite doughnut place.
They probably couldn’t afford to fix the parking lot it’s very expensive
Literally right down the road from me.
Nice!
EVOO is extra virgin olive oil
Close to home for me
Abandoned Pizza is it's neighbor.
@@WallieB26 sane with us, no dining in. I'm so ready for all this to be over as I know you are too. Thank you for sharing video btw.
Hey what up today
Hey! We're just trying to get by one day at a time. May go out and film a little bit today when we get lunch or dinner.
Hope you're doing well!
Couldve had the egg plant dish lol
Lol! I've had egg plant before. Depending on how its prepared, it's not bad.
