Shudraka:
Though the exact era of Shudraka remains a mystery, his profound knowledge and literary excellence are vividly showcased in his masterpiece, "Mruchchakatika" (The Little Clay Cart). Known for his mastery over the Vedas and various sciences, Shudraka's dramas are characterized by realistic characters and a blend of poignant and lively language. His plays deftly weave together humor, wisdom, and life’s subtleties, creating a powerful and soulful narrative that resonates with audiences.
Sri Harsha:
Believed to have reigned in Kanya Kubja between 606 and 648 AD, Sri Harsha's contributions to Sanskrit drama are monumental. His notable works, including "Ratnavali," "Priyadarshika," and "Nagananda," are celebrated for their royal settings and romantic themes. Sri Harsha’s simple yet effective style, coupled with his lyrical prowess, brings forth a unique blend of humor and profound insight. "Nagananda," in particular, stands out for its Buddhist themes and the portrayal of Jimutavahana with Bodhisattva qualities, emphasizing the spiritual depth in his writings.
