    Saw this at the Almeida in January, criminally underrated production, brilliantly staged and extremely well performed!

      @@Pollo.a.la.crema.should have seen it either in theatre, here at the Oliviers or at the cinema. Proud to say I did all 3 (2x theatre, 1 x oliviers and 1x cinema) and everytime they made me cry

      The first solo section has always been in the show just not the soundtrack

      The cast recording was recorded before the Broadway run. During the Broadway preview, Steven Stater (book and lyricist) changed some of the lyrics, including The Song of Purple Summer, and removing all Ships and Pirates references since they replaced There Once was a Pirate with The Guilty Ones

      blend of the voices, the lyrics, the arrangement. Everything.

      @@rbishop95 in your opinion, but in the view of many others (myself included) this is a beautiful and powerful song, and was perfect for the Oliviers. Sorry you need lots of swearing and an up-beat tempo to be able to enjoy music, but I’m afraid you’re on your own there
