Neil, I wish you could have all the snow we get in Iowa, remember if your tractor has right and left break when your front in comes up you can still steer some with those brakes. Thanks Michael

It was great to see the horse and buggy at 7:03, have not seen one since i left York Pa. in 1965 to go into the USAF. And now that I live in Texas, we don't have them here. Or no snow to. LOL. Maybe every 10 t0 15 years is enough for me..😁🌬
I have basically the same set up LX3310 with the HLA 66" box for my cutting edge I went with the UHMW. I'm on the eastern side of PA so also got my first use of it. Coming from having a plow truck this thing is so much better. I have a warehouse parking lot to clear first time out it took me about 10 minutes longer then it did with the truck BUT I was able to get lot closer to things and do a more detailed job. Im sure as I get my pattern down ill be able to do it just as fast. I did post a video on my channel just some raw pov footage.

When I bought my BX the dealer included a Kubota Ballast box for the three point hitch. It makes a big difference.
I love the snow too. It's what sends the wimps running south.
I also like how when your talking about having an extra implement there is a horse and buggy going by in the background.

The plastic (UHMW) cutting edge works much better than the rubber edge. Swap that out for a cleaner finish without driveway surface scaring.

I got the 54" HLA 1500 last year with UHMW skids and blades, and I couldn't be happier with it. My BX hasn't had any issues issues pushing 6-8" of snow down my 200' driveway. With heavy snows, the box does fill up at a certain point, but when that happens I just turn and drop my load off to the side of the driveway. I've got about 700 lbs of ballast on the 3pt, (box scraper + suitcase weights) which effectively counteracts the snow weight and keeps things from bogging down.
We have a HLA1500 on our LX2610. Using the split brakes makes steering much easier. I rarely have to take the loader out of float, unless I need to turn pretty sharp. Also our main cutting edge is UHMW polyethylene… it cleans the surface much better than rubber but still won’t mark the asphalt. I put the rubber edge on the back drag and it’s a great system. I also have a rear mount snow blower for the big snows, but the pusher gets used 99% of the time.

This last round of snow I used the brakes to help with turning and was surprised at how well it worked!
We use a 72” HLA blade on the front of our LX2610, with hydraulic angling. With the blade pushing through heavy snow, no amount of steering input is sufficient with the front tires to go where you want. The easy solution, which would also work for your pusher, is to use the split brakes to steer the tractor and put the pushing implement where you want it to go. It’s an incredibly effective way to work with a plow, especially, since when angled, it acts like a fin to push the front of the tractor where it wants to go. We also have a 60” PTO blower on the back of the tractor, and use that in combination with the plow to clear the snow to one side of the steep part of the driveway, then one pass with the blower to get it off into the adjoining hay field.
My thought exactly too, when I heard about no steering. I have used the split brakes to steer my B7100 for the last 38 years when using the front bucket to push an clear snow.

Coming from a place where it snowed last in 1973 (Sth East Australia) I look at all the work and equipment you guys need to deal with snow in the US...not to mention clothes, heating, frozen fingers/toes etc etc...and your first statement is you love snow??? 🙂

Loved your video, Neil! That is my snow pusher too, the HLA 1500! Best investment for my snow clearing needs. Just started using the UHMW plastic for the back drag edge this winter. I’m not sure how well and how long it will stand up. Given how much it cost me, I am concerned about the longevity and if I will even get this winter out of it. It is 1.5” thick so pretty robust. We will see. Might be going back to steel. Of course, where I am, we get about 16 feet of snow per winter. However, the original steel edge lasted three winters and I’m sure that I could have squeezed this winter out of it. Thank you so much for this video and sharing your experiences and perspectives. Never pushed snow around with a tractor, but I look at it as just getting the majority out of the way because it will be back the next day!

I enjoyed the info on the snow pusher, but by far the best thing about this video happens at the 7:00 mark, but you've gotta pay attention, and you gotta' look quick! You definitely know it's PA!

A couple things
1. love the garage doors with the windows! We did the same!
2. I have the land pride snow pusher and find it great on fluffy snow or snow that is less than 6" deep. Anything over that amount, I find myself really wishing for an angle blade attachment or snowblower for my bx. It just loses traction too easily and I run out of pushing power when the box is full.
I see you using a bit bigger tractor. Maybe that is the answer lol.
Tire chains and a 7 foot pusher 👍 Even with loaded rear tires and a weighted box blade for rear ballast and for tight scraping , my b2650 is useless in snow without chains .

Finally got some snow in Wyoming. I use the blower on the front with a rear blade. So nice hearing the change in frequency when the blower sinks into about a foot of snow. I could do without the -20F temps but hey, as long as there's snow. And I agree, use the float position. Sadly, we're back in the 40's. BTW, I don't miss the pig farms but that is some beautiful country.
I use 1 1/4” thick black UHMW I get from McMaster-Carr for my cutting edges. I cut a bevel on the edge and they work as good as steel and last for years without marking blacktop or concrete.
I've been tempted to buy a snow pusher, but my rear blade with a strip of horse stall mat as cutting edge works really well.
Love my HLA. Yup, perfect for 1-3” but it will push anything you throw at it to the limit of your traction. Sopping wet snow that’s blue as an iceberg when you back away? Yep. 8”? Yep assuming you can resist getting out & playing that long. I’m usually “quick get out & plow before it melts!”.
Curious to see if the rubber cleans better once it wears to a knife-edge (or IF it wears to a knife edge). The steel edge on my back drag did mark the concrete when it chatters. I changed it to UHMW poly. Great middle of the road option between steel & rubber.

First time using an HLA 1500 pusher this year in NJ...steel edge and back drag..UHMW runners.....depending upon your needs it's a great attachment.....I do use a plow in certain areas of my property but the pusher works really well...
Well if you wanted to play in the snow, you should have come up to Buffalo this week. Some places had almost 6 feet of snow, and they were looking for you to come move some of it. 😃😃

Hey Neil I also have the Kubora LX3310 same as you and I have noticed in previous videos (and this one too) that the four hydraulic hoses are mounted more forward-facing than your model which has them more upward facing. Did Kubota change the design at some point?
Fantastic setup would be blower on the front end and blade on the 3pt. Plus, of course, a nice heated cab. You never know with the change of weather we've been having how much snow we'll get. Unless you're superhero.
You can not beat the HLA 1500 for the LX series! I have used mine for 4 years and pushes alot of snow off the paved driveway. I have the Box Blade on the rear to collect and clean the driveway if necessary, until I switch to the rear Snowblower. HLA has the best design for the pusher!
Put a rear mounted blade on the back. It provides weight and you can scrape with it.

Neil, I like the HLA setup. Particularly the pull back edge. But HLA doesn't make one (48") that fits the Kubota BX23. Land Pride makes the SPL0548 for the BX23 but it doesn't list/show the Pull back edge as a feature. But their picture shows a full length plate across the top with an edge. Was that pic of a prototype pull back edge. As the Land Pride expert please advise. Thank you.
Just cleared the steepest portion of my road (30 degrees+) just using the front bucket of my BX-23S. Gravel surface.
Worked as advertised and at this point I can't justify spending the money on additional implements.
Edit: Additionally, this was my first experience operating a diesel in single-digit temperatures, so imagine my surprise when I discovered that I had five gallons of Jello in my fuel tank.
I now know what anti-gel fuel additive is and it works..........................

I bought my JD with a loader mounted blade. I was not smart enough to get the results I wanted. Traded it back to the dealer for a grapple.

Instead of the flail mower, why not add a rear angle blade, or even a box blade to have a backup scraper to get what the snow pusher misses. I just did my mile long gravel driveway with my stock bucket and a box blade, (it’s all I have). It took a little longer and I wish I had a rear blade that I could angle to push the missed snow the bucket misses off to the side. Regardless, my little LX2610 would pull and push snow until the snow would back up and start lifting my rear tires (main problem with a box blade and snow removal, though it does great in reverse and moving large quantities of snow, it just leaves 2 wind rows instead of 1). Given the length of my lane I was looking into getting a piece of snow removal equipment. Local dealer wanted 3 grand for a 6 foot angle plow that uses my third function and said they didn’t have anything else in stock. That seemed a little steep for a 2-3 time a year use. How well do these pushers work on gravel? Or is my best option to just get a rear blade and call it a day?
I’ve been watching your vidio post for about a year. I got my LX3902 this July; living in eastern Tennessee. At 105 hours the regeneration button (RB) on the dashboard started blinking, drive back to the shed, then thr PARK RG Button (PRG) started blinking. I had the RG and the PRG icon on the instrument panel blinking so I lowered the ENGINE RPM’s and the instrument panel E RPM icon can on.
Well time to get off the tractor and get out the owner manual. The only confused me because the manual does not differentiate between the button on the console and the instrument icon.
Being completely confused and not getting a response the icon I called my dealer and the service person explained what’s was going on and to increase the RPM and everything will time out.
Now to my comment: kubota manual assumes you can read between the line. If you could do a video on what the Regeneration function is and how to clear it out; that would be GREAT. Thank you Ken.
