Thanks for the entertaining review! I haven't heard the word 'pillock' for a while! And I am glad to hear I am not the only one who gets unreasonably insensed at hearing 'unique' qualified by 'very'. With regard to the pen: I've now had one in my hand a couple of times at pen shows but still can't quite commit to forking out the spondulicks for it. Maybe I will one day, but it has felt comfortable in my hand which is increasingly becoming a criterion for me. Pen sharing sounds like an excellent idea. I wish Ireland had critical mass in pen owners to establish a branch here! 🤞🏻 Were you at the London pen show the weekend before last? I came away just over £500 the poorer - again! 🙄
Haha, I'm glad it's not just me! I really notice comfort in my hand. Sure, I'm attracted by material etc but the ones that stick around are usually the ones that 'fit' straight in my hand. I wouldn't be surprised if I picked up one of these again one day. That's one of the reasons I love Pensharing, a fantastic concept. You never know, there may be an untapped Irish community! I was at the pen show, I left with a much lighter wallet as well! I'll show off my haul in the next video....
Greetings Dan and Bill. Thank you for doing the enlightening and thorough review, even when feeling unwell. Hope you are better soon. The pen rental idea is brilliant;most likely it's the only way I would get to try out a pen like the Homo sapiens. It's not my cuppa really. The Rosetta Stone pen is a darling. I'm going to re-watch that episode even though, if I remember correctly, that particular pen is unobtainium. I'm still laughing at your attempt to talk while writing! Please do more of that when you can. I find it funny because I'm sure I would do the same or worse and appreciate your sense of humor.
I'm sure I'll continue to make a prat out of myself! I may well upload the Rosetta Stone to Pensharing soon. It will shortly have the extra barrel weight fitted, like my Onoto Magna. I must say I prefer the touch of extra weight
I am also "bugged" by the misuse of the word "unique". You can't have degrees of unique-ness. You can't say something is quite unique. You can't say very unique or a bit unique. It is either unique or it isn't. Other pen reviewers please take note. That said, I think there are one or two unique features in this pen. Particularly the resin mixed with crushed lava. I know of no other pen made this way. I don't own a Visconti Homo Sapiens, nor is it a grail pen for me. I'm sure I would enjoy it but it's a bit expensive init? I'm sure one day we'll see a perfect Chinese copy and instead of the clip being engraved 'Visconti' the name 'Majohn' will be proudly printed. Thirty quid to you guvna!

Lovely review and thanks for the mention! Might hire it myself! 😉

I’m looking at getting one of these with a broad nib, which I’m told by an owner is a lovely smooth nib to write with.
If it's got a great nib, I would certainly recommend picking one up

😂😂 Not sure they'll stretch into the lava market!
