- Machine knitters can get surprisingly nice edge finishes with hems - for necklines, sleeveless armholes, sleeve edges, collars, and pockets, for name a few situations where hems work well. And, there are lots of different hem variations. Hems are especially useful for necklines, and in this video, Diana shows a step-by-step neck finish which encloses the neckline's curved edge.
