Good ol' ways of the good ol' days. Thank you for sharing. Nice to hear that real music versus the garbage being pushed on our communities by hollywood and the music industries

Thanks so much! Totally agree, there’s just something real about this kind of music that you don’t hear much these days. Glad you enjoyed it!

Not possible for Bill Monroe to have been influenced by Rock & Roll . He melded BG into its final form several years before anything even retroactively considered R&R .
What you're probably thinking of was Bill Monroe taking influences from Western Swing .
Then in turn , late Era West Coast Western Swing was a major influence on R & R ( generally not give recognition today ) .
Before changing their name after their break thru hit , one of the arguably First R & R songs , it was Bill Hailey and the Saddlemen , playing WS , wearing cowboy clothes .
Before becoming famous , Chuck Berry was playing Kansas City bars . Playing R&B and Western Swing on alternating nights in different clubs . His breakthrough hit Maybelline , was Bob Will's Ida Red , with different lyrics , and the guitar turned up louder .

    Differences :
Bluegrass is predominantly * Hard Driving * . i.e. Fast , faster , and really fast . Not just tempo , but rapid chord changes . OT has variety of tempos .
BG is predominantly the trading off of flashy Breaks ( instrumental solos ) , where OT is predominantly mostly everyone playing together .
( To be able to keep up & be heard live ) BG has a finite roster of acceptable instruments - ( Resonator) Banjo , Guitar , Fiddle , Mando , Dobro , and Bass . OT is inclusive of authentic old days instruments not as loud . Including but not limited to Open Back Banjo , Dulcimer, Auto Harp .
Culturally - OT and Folk were reconstructed by academics and hipsters as a living history exercise . There's still lots of OG BG players who are Unreconstructed Hillbillies. They've been playing their whole lives , and now are in their 80's and 90's . At local Jams you get teased for being a youngster, if you're under 70 .
