I lived on the Oregon, coast so I understand the umbrella thing! Wind!! My experience in Japan is that they also use umbrellas for shade. I always travel with an umbrella now It was wonderful when we got evac'd once and had to stand in the sun for 3 hours. And as for your hat choice - you won’t blend in anyway 🤣🤣 As a tall blond, my hair was frequently petted in smaller towns.

Oh my goodness! I have that same raincoat and had no idea it was packable in that way!! Thank you! I bought it about 2 years ago for a Hawaii trip and just like that it has a packable hood and was thin for packing light! Now I have to figure out how to fold it up into that pocket. Hope you have an amazing trip!

I'll be gone for a month for 1/2 land, 1/2 sea in the Mediterranean....From chic to hiking wear. We will be doing carry on only. My color palate is much like yours: white, black & red, with a few other tops that are peach & pink. All mixes & matches & I will layer. I'll wear my heavy clothing on the planes. We can do this!!

Hi! My college aged daughter just returned from 7 wks in Japan (she cannot wait to go back). She said loose layers are the way to go. She bought an umbrella for sun protection - not rain! Have fun!

Great tips! Have a great time. I used to live in Seoul, it will definitely be like a sauna at this time of year, your clothes are very appropriate. Have a lovely time with your daughter.

Hero Clip: Hotel bathroom towel bar hook for toiletries; closet hook for purse or bag, or pants.
    Love your videos!
I live close to Zion. The locals pronounce it “Z-eye-ehn”, not “Z-eye-ON”. 😂

That's awesome! Japan is my favorite country to visit! You could've gotten a coin purse there. They have sooo many cute ones. I wish I could pack like you lol But when I return to Japan I'm bringing a personal bag, carryon, and checked bag because I plan on shopping and taking stuff back. They have so many cool things that we don't have in the U.S. and are hard to find online. If I travel anywhere in the U.S. I usually take a personal and carryon.

Nice tips! The red is a really nice pop of color. I'm thinking of adding a pink dress to my travel capsule for when we visit Japan in the spring to see cherry blossoms. It would be nice to have a dressy piece for photos.
And a rain jacket is a must for Japan in the summer. It rained so much when we were there! ☔Heidi

For the ideas of affordable/ unique/ suoer light souvenirs from Japan I recommend are very pretty / cute handkerchiefs & traditional clothes for gift wrapping called " furoshiki " we wrap gifts 🎁 in those & open on the spot when we hand the gift to the receiver. We reuse it many times ,reusing them ! But,for Americans & others ,it's good for the receivers to reuse it ,or keep it instead ! 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️🇯🇵💕💞

One thing I noticed in Japan was that shorts weren’t usually worn by locals. It could be 100 degrees outside and people are still in leggings and long pants. I have some Japanese ancestry so I look Japanese enough that I felt a little odd, but for an obvious tourist, it’s something to consider. Bring a hand fan and plenty of water. AC is common in big cities, but not in the average traditional home (they use Aircons which usually are turned off and on throughout the day.

I agree with you on learning the basic words of the languages of people of your destinations !! That'll break the ice & make the progress easier for your experiences !! 👍 " You're welcome " in Japanese is " Dou itashimashite "! It sounds like " Don't touch my mustache ! " 😉 😆👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️🇯🇵💕💞

I only ever wear black 🖤 it goes with everything. I do accessorize with scarves that have pops of color.

I am Japanese who's been living in the States for decades ,here in L.A.alone for 2 decades + !! We think alike ! I always think of colour palettes for my wardrobes !! Lol. As for the door hooks ,I believe the most of the public toilets in Japan have hooks on the door ,there were only few times I didn't see 'em !! But,I haven't been there for 2 decades ,so not positive now . Lol.
Youngsters in Japan wear their outfits colorfully !! Not back then, when I lived & grew up in Japan ( Tokyo ) ! The elders ,they tend to wear more greys ,beigish ,dark navy clothes ! Which is sad as we get yellowish more as we age so our outfits, faces & hair need more redish / pinkish tones added on !!
For anyone wanna travel in Japan ,visit there in April / May ,or October ( the very best )!! Avoid our notorious summer & rainy season !! 👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️🇯🇵💞

Those TJ Maxx pants! I tried them on weeks ago and didn't buy them. Went back for them the next day and of course they were gone!! I almost spit out my coffee when I saw them on you. 😂 (They look great on you, BTW.) Wear them in good health while I sit here, stewing in regret! 😫😉

I never thought about the color in photos thing! Brilliant! Thanks!
And yes, absolutely about learning a few phrases in the native language is crucial!
Too bad it's impossible to get into Walmart's website to see about those bras. They want an email and won't let you in without creating an account. Do they sell those at a Walmart store??
