    Hey guys
    I just want to say something very helpful to me when I am using toppik.
    There is a spray from toppik. I used to use it before and after.
    so you have to start with the spray then apply the fibers then spray the fibers.
    (Fiberhold spry)

    I am 60 now but have had PCOS with the androgenic hair loss. Using root powder has been a life saver but my hair still lacked body. My hair loss has not really progressed but I decided to try a topper which I love. I can barely feel it on my head. I live in Southern California and it can get warm. I purchased a couple of wigs for going out to dinner etc. in the evening when it’s cooler.

    you give such important information. i am in exactly the place you were mentioning - wigs or use white dry shampoo. obviously i have pure white hair (60). i am extremely embarrassed in wigs although i have 10. from the bottom of my heart i thank you for carrying me through this difficult time. i watch every video you make. you alone have kept me hanging on in this battle of hair loss. my loss is from already thin hair and cancer. 🤗💖

      Oh, Shirley.... first of all hugs hugs for your cancer journey. I will add you to my prayer list. I'm so glad you're here and please know that your posting this and sharing with me helps me a TON as well. Prayers and God bless ❤❤

    This has brought back memories! I dread using Toppik again, (and the mess that comes with it,) but for years it was my life saver. I have autoimmune plus female pattern hair loss, and it began in my 20’s. I then used clip on toppers before moving to a hair system. When COVID hit, I made the move to wigs. Only my husband and Dr knows and I wish so much I could be honest, but my husband’s family seems obsessed with hair and they would stare at me all the time. I just don’t think I can do it, but you have given me such a boost. I’m loving your videos and you are lovely. God bless you!

    Thanks for the video. Funny, that I notice that whenever I use baby powder as a dry shampoo...in between washings...it also adds texture to my hair, therefore, making it look like I have more.

      Yes, in my experience the darker the better.... but I never had blonde or gray hair so can't speak to how those might work.

    Nice of you to do this presentation. I am sure it answered lots of questions for lots of people that were perhaps on the fence about trying these fibers. What a difference they made, even just the first application to the front & top.
    There's just not enough videos out there covering so many of the topics you touch on. Thanks for thinking outside the box! 🤗

    Denise, our hair loss journeys are so similar, almost identical! You’re my hair loss best friend 😆 Everything you said about Toppik is spot on. When I used the hair fibers, instead of shaking them on I would hold the bottle and tap my pointer finger to tap them on. That helped a little bit more with precise application. I always called them my sprinkles 🤣 Your videos are the best! ❤️

    You’re a pro at the fibers! I tried it once an got caught in the rain😱. I didn’t realize what woul happened. Well you can imagine what I looked like 🤦🏻‍♀️😂😂

    • @heywigsister
      @heywigsister  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I can TOTALLY imagine! After 20 years of using them I should be a pro, lol.... I do remember, though, how awkward it was in the beginning which is why I wanted to mention that it does take practice. I am so glad to be past the fiber stage now that I have discovered how awesome wigs are. I do sometimes miss not having anything on my head, but I do not miss the fibers.

    I use the product Hairatin. I chose Hairatin because it is supposedly a cleaner product, contains fewer irritating chemicals. I haven't had any irritation. And you're correct about it taking some practice to get the hang of it. I take a different approach. I part my hair, starting on the far right side of the top, sprinkle in that row, move a bit to the left, make another part, sprinkle again. I keep doing that until I've gone across my whole scalp. My hair is long so it's not really helpful to just have it sitting on the top of my hair, I'm trying to get the product mostly on the bottom couple of inches of my hair.

    • @heywigsister
      @heywigsister  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've never heard of that before, thank you so much for mentioning it!!

    What a difference. I might try that product. I got kinda concerned when you said itching. With Lupus, you have lesions. They get into your hair, neck, well everywhere. So, that may not be ideal for me. I have a special shampoo that i use when they flare up. But, I think I will try this when not in a flare. My family, all boys, have this gorgeous dark hair, that is full and wavy,.. My mother had fine, thin hair and she started balding at my age now. And, I know what the future holds. Anyway, thanks so much for sharing. Again, another way to help us that struggle with what to do.

    Awesome video. I’m thinning on top, and just beginning to wear a wig occasionally. The look you got was amazing and it’s great to have other options. My hair is blonde/with grey. I will check this out.

    I have never heard of toppik ,,, gosh I wish I had known about this product years ago before wigs.I use got2b powderful volumizing powder under my wig grip to keep it from sliding up my on my awkward head.It works great to keep the wig from sliding around.My hairloss is more at the nape,,,, so I do not have much hair for the wig grip to grip to.A very helpful video!

    What an awesome product! I forwarded this video to my sister. She has significant thinning and hair loss, and finds wigs to be too hot in the summertime. This may be a good option for her. Thank you, Denise, for doing this video.

    Thanks, Denise. I've been using fibers for about a year and here's my problem with them. I have been mortified at both the dentist office and in a physical therapist's room when I've gotten up and seen the amount of fibers on the head rest of the chair or the pillow at the therapist's room. I apologized, but am always, always nervous going somewhere that I have to lay my head on something. I always use hairspray to supposedly hold the fibers in. Any thoughts on that and what have your experiences been?

    • @heywigsister
      @heywigsister  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately that was exactly my own experience!!! It was really awful and I dreaded appointments where I would have to rest my head back on something. Toward the end I just started telling them ahead of time that I use a powder to cover my hair loss and some may show up on the head rest. I HATED having to tell people but I found it easier to do that then pray I didn't leave any fibers behind. This is another of the trade offs that we experience on this hair loss journey. I have no good solution except to just tell them to save yourself the embarrassment after and put yourself a little more in control of the situation. Big hugs, I totally live this and get it!

    Actually Denise it looks pretty darn good esp in the back. Can you spike it up a bit if using those fibers, or would that defeat the purpose? I had never heard of fibers until your video this past week. God bless
    Diane😊

    • @heywigsister
      @heywigsister  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you totally could. The key is to get your hair styled how you want it and then add the fibers last... then spray with hair spray.

  • @maries3609
    @maries3609 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    What a huge difference! It looks great.
    Can you comb thru your hair after putting on the fibers? Also can you apply the fibers with the same type makeup brush that is used to apply the gray hair cover powder? Thank you for the video.

    • @heywigsister
      @heywigsister  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Marie! No, the fibers really need to be shaken on, they can't be brushed on due to how they are made.... they really aren't a powder, but they are little fibers, so a brush won't deposit them but rather they would just cling to the brush. You can comb through your hair, but you want to be careful not to touch your scalp when you do or it will disturb the fibers and expose your scalp in places.... they definitely don't feel think on your hair at all.

  • @AB-ih6ig
    @AB-ih6ig 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    So should you style your hair first before applying the fibers?

    • @heywigsister
      @heywigsister  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, style your hair first, then apply the fibers, then use hair spray (or a fiber hold spray) to lock the fibers in.

    They have an attachment to put on the bottle and you squeeze it and it shoots air and toppik fibers out. The fiber is blown on, then I set it with spray. It helps keep mess down.
