- Elon Musk has visited the US-Mexico border where he claimed the level of illegal migration was causing cities such as New York to “buckle”.
Inserting himself directly into the controversy over the scale of immigration into the United States - an issue that has left President Biden on the back foot - Mr Musk on Thursday visited Eagle Pass, Texas, where thousands of migrants have crossed in recent days.
The billionaire streamed his visit live to his followers on X, formerly Twitter, and insisted that he was “pro-immigrant”.

I patrolled the South barrier fence in Korea and was also on the east/west German boarder. Walls don't work. What works is taking the reason that the want to come away. Instead of wasting money on a wall, make employing an illegal immigrant a 50,000 dollar fine and a year in jail for each worker. Hire accountants instead boarder patrol agents.

These two measures are not mutually exclusive! Setting up walls will not eliminate immigrants but will reduce and slow the incoming flow. On the other hand, there are already laws forbidding employers hiring illegal immigrants but they were not enforced in many places.

The problem is not seeing the history of the American country. Since the arrival of the Spanish and the 50% Spanish blood component that Latin Americans have, the US has been inseparable from those countries.
