These videos always get me excited, just listening to that sound only the 373 came make just beautiful
Sounds amazing in person can hear them for a good couple of minutes before they arrive sometimes, they are amazing trains

It's certainly iconic, as is the flyby sound. I like the looks of both in their own way though. The 373 looks cooler but the 374 looks more modern.

Great video! I did some estimated calculations, and the train was going around 295-300 km/h (thus 185-186 mp/h) 😊 Thanks for sharing
Thank you! I do an extremely rough estimation by diving how long it takes the train to pass divided by how long a 373 is (387m)
isn’t line speed 186 mph anyways? so it makes sense
I don't live far from there - I would love to stop to watch just one 373 whizz past on the way to work, that would set me up for the day.

Why do they do that pew pew pew noise? Never heard that on other train makes
You get that at higher speeds
its because of the gap in between the cars
its the air between the gap of the coaches and also the coaches arent very streamlined

I though they stopped using the 373s and upgraded to 374s
They were temporarily taken out of service in the pandemic, however I believe 8 refurbished sets were bought back in February 2022

They are brilliant trains, not been on one since before refurb but there are still 8 in service
Prob for the best, the post refurb interiors are not as comfortable as the stunning pre refurb were.
Speed up to 2x and you will get shinkansen speed.
