    What a great video! After watching many Volvo C40 YT videos (I have one on order) I thought I knew most everything about the lighting but I learned so much more from this video.

      I'm looking to buy a 2023 model with extremely low miles for a great price. How has your's held up now a year later? Any big issues or still loving it?

    • @Ozefan2580
      @Ozefan2580 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @GSP-76 Still loving it! Just over 31k miles and no issues at all.

      @@Ozefan2580 Thank you! I've been trying to talk to owners to get their personal experiences but not always easy lol. I think I'm going to go finalize the paperwork on the 2023 Plus I'm eyeing. Which trim did you get? How has the charging experience been for where you live? Are you charging at home?

    • @Ozefan2580
      @Ozefan2580 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @GSP-76 There's no trim that I'm aware of for the 23 C40. Just a standard Recharge Twin. I had a charger installed at home, which required an electrical upgrade. I am able to charge at work, too. I've been on a few road trips of 300-400 miles and so far, charging on the way has been a great experience.

    Good review as always! Just a suggestion..... Put the model year of the vehicle in the title 🙂

    Incredible review. Cued up the Kia Sportage at night one (19 mins long), & the full review (51 minutes). That’s the main vehicle I’m hoping to get.

    Also, you can change the intensity of the reading lights by touch and hold the light. I recently learned this by reading the manual.

    Absolutely love this car, Volvo never misses. One little thing though, the pixel lights themselves are active bending (or at least, they should be), but the matrix feature that makes them stand out isn’t enabled in the US yet

  • @Truedoogie

    Haha, does your finger pointer stick actually illuminate the hand?
    Edit: oh now I see that it very clearly does. What a handy gadget. No pun intended.

    One thing to add. In the ultimate spec the rear indicators are sequential when you indicate. When you use the hazards though they just come on in one whole block at the same time. They do look cool when indicating sweeping across.
    Once pixel lights are fully functional in the US you will be blown away. They are great.
    Oh and one last thing. The dimmer wheel no longer exists in the UK anyway. . It was removed in MY23 year. You can alter light intensity from the central screen though.

    recently bought a xc40 recharge and the interior ambient lighting is fine when it is on the high light setting. but they start to make a buzzing sound when i try to put them on low. Any suggestions?

    Excellent review Mike! The lack of approach lighting on my 22 XC90 based on key proximity was also a big letdown

    Awesome EV...the only thing i didn't like is the little vertical support bar halfway across the rear spoiler. I think it would have better without it and had a cleaner look.

    Dealers in the US have hardly any inventory of C40's right now (late September 2024). Maybe a few C40 base or twin models but no Ultimate. I have 3 Volvo dealerships in my city and their are maybe 2 ultimate C40's. I think we are in that period where the EC40 (new name) 2025 models may trickle in soon. Anyone know when? My current lease is ending and I need to buy soon.

    light in glovebox is for "to see what you get". just hold your staff near glovebox door to see what it is)

    • @MikesCarInfo
      @MikesCarInfo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lol. Maybe they should move the headlights to the rear of the vehicle so we can see what we ran over :)

  • @ivo4357
    @ivo4357 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    could it be that the notch in the low beams is so you wouldn't blind the car driving in front of you? This way you can see what's next to the car in front of you, but you don't blind the driver. I don't know, just asking. I agree that it looks weird when you're driving on the road alone but it wouldn't normally bother you as the high beams would be on then.

    • @MikesCarInfo
      @MikesCarInfo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Possibly, but it would be a poor design. Cars in front of you are facing away while cars in the oncoming lane are facing directly towards the light. It is different from every other vehicle on the market.

    • @andrei450
      @andrei450 ปีที่แล้ว

      Could it be the lights are mistakingly set in left hand mode? I know that with some brands, including Volvo, it's possible to change the light hand mode through some setting in the infotainment

    How do the head lights compare to Acuras head lights?

    • @Alddyn

      Good question. Never owned a C40 but owned a 22 XC90 prior to my MDX. The Jewel projector headlights on my MDX are far superior

    Love our C40 recharge. Only complaint is the HK sound system is lackluster at best. No true highs to speak of and no ability to truly manipulate centering in the car.

    clearly, both sides need to be shifted to the right
    they considered everything but the width is not that good
    I think Lexus got the best system so far

    My 2023 Volvo C40 driving at 65 mph the steering wheel vibrates very badly, making it quite annoying to drive, and Volvo don’t want to fix it.
    If you're considering purchasing a Volvo C40, I advise you to be careful and aware of this issue.

      volvo is conservative when doing MPGe. you'd likely get more. but for a $60k car... 230 is good. tesla model s goes further but who'd pay 75k for junk?

    Love the music choice at the end and great video overall. Got an 2023 XC40 recharge coming next month (fjord blue as well). Do the interior lights in the C40 (the graphic ones) make a buzzing noise when on?
