There is so much hype and pressure on the Lions. It's built up to Super Bowl or bust. I hope they do it! The Lions are the darlings of the league for now. We should be on national TV more often. The league seems to be rooting for us.
Yes we want a Super Bowl. That’s our target. But being a Detroit fan for over 30 years, I’m just happy to be able to watch pro football again. I agree that's the parody of the sport, there's dynasty franchises like the patriots and Cinderella teams like the Jaguars and just to be not a running joke anymore after the winless season is good enough for the time being and the team now has the make up of being a contender for many seasons to come and now the league is forced to put some respect behind their name.
I really agree with you. They addressed their biggest concerns with a picture for the future. They’ve learned to draft, cultivate, and than reward the pillar players.

The only fans we have a distaste for are the satan worshiping fans of the Vikings and the insufferable Chicago fans. Lion fans are chill and have had a rough go of it with the team and of course the city.

They really can win anywhere anytime. This team is special. I'm biased, but this is my favorite group of players in any sport ever. From Sheila Ford Hamp down to the waterboy this organization is in lock step. I really believe they're a team of destiny and are going to win the Super Bowl.

As a life long lions fan we were all resigned to never seeing a quality lions team. There are no words for what this team means to us.

Lions are more than good. That I know.
I bare the weight of my dad's 60 years of lackluster Detroit Lions play. Plus my own 25, soon to be 26 years of more or less mediocre play. The Detroit Lions are on the cusp of greatness. A greatness no one has ever seen. A team that once went 0-16 going to a super bowl.
They're rewarding themselves for their hard work by getting the type of schedule that lets the rest of the NFL know they're for real. That they aren't just a once in a lifetime dream team. The Front Office. The Coaches. The offense. The defense. Now add in the fact they just addressed their last need at Kicker with the addition of Jake Bates. This team is just LOADED.
They're legit. And as above. The proof is in the pudding. They addressed their weaknesses. And let's not forget. Aside from Jordan Love and Jared Goff and anyone whose been in the NFL for at least a year on their teams, you have 3 notable rookies who have to adjust to the temps of December and January. Yes McCarthy has November cold experience with football. But that's november. December and January in the NFC North can make you wonder how people in alaska stand winter. As for Odunze and Williams. They're from the west/south. Adjusting to the harshness of the NFC North. Yes they play in domes for two games. But still. They have to play in the slop of weather that comes with the turf of green bay and chicago.

Green Bay: 11-6 Wildcard 1.
Chicago: 9-8 Last Wildcard.
Minnesota: 6-11
I believe they will win it all this year. They will be competing for a while. All the negativity I hear is because of their history. That has NO nearing with THIS team

I think the Lions are a better team than last year, but with a tougher division and schedule they'll win fewer games. 10-7 probably wins the NFC North, and that's where I have them right now.

I have noticed that some people were pretty pessimistic about the Lions future.
Who? Whoever it is are not using anything football related to be pessimistic. They have done nothing but improve every year since the complete tear down/rebuild. Every offseason for the last 3 years there have been doubters and people saying the Lions were a “cute story” when they won 8 of their last 10 games to finish just missing the playoffs. People dragged them for their run defense which proved to be one of the best in the NFL. People talked all kinds of crap about their drafts which churns out studs and probowlers. They have stars in year 1-2-3 who are improving (this regime has proven to develop guys). They have lost nothing and gained a lot. I dont know how anyone could be pessimistic unless its just people who dont follow them and have no clue and still cant accept that they are a legit franchise now, OR they are divisional rival fans who don’t WANT to admit the Lions are here to stay for the foreseeable future.

I'd say the only people that think the Lions had a fluke year are the division rivals that hate on them, and other fans that just want to hate on them because they went 30 years between winning a playoff game and never been to a Superbowl! The Lions fans who have seen Holmes and Campbell take this team from basement dwellers to the NFC championship game in 2 seasons know that this is not a fluke with how well Holmes built this roster. Worst case scenario they finish 2nd in the division to the Packers and get a wild card, but they should win the division again.

Not like the Vikings haven't lost 4 superbowls and many NFC title games. I've learned to not get that emotionally invested in sports because when you do they let you down. Give them some doubt and they'll keep winning but soon as you jump on that hype train they let you down.

Ultimately, the Lions success will come down to Jared Goff. Will he be able to improve from the solid season he had last year or did he overachieve? I personally do not believe Goff is good enough to win a Super Bowl and the Lions will need that QB that gets them over the hump. If the Lions had someone like Dak leading the team, I think they could get it done.
