Im 42 and Scott you are a legend in the dmv for the thousands that still love your house music. If nations buzz was still standing and open i would b there every Friday!
Saw Scott Henry at a warehouse party in Pittsburgh early 2000's. Was rolling face, he dropped a sample of M. Luther King's "I have a dream" speech, then the beat dropped and it was one of the most intense vibes ever I felt at a party, as I danced my ass off tears ran down my face. Pure union, pure bliss.... I could have died at that moment and my life would have felt complete. Hard to put an experience like that into words. Even though I was super faded, and it was almost 2 decades ago, I remember that moment like it was yesterday. What a special and amazing scene it was back then.
I feel you the first rave party I went to was Buzz at Nations June of 2000. Scott Henry was the main DJ and they had a foam party on the deck. When I got home I was still soaking wet I'll never forget that night best night of my life!
Friday nights at the Capital Ballroom, Half Street SE, so much amazing music, so many memories, so many good vibes, so many wonderful people. Even so, I didn't realize just how good it really was. I lived it up as much as I could but if only I could go back and have just one more night there with my friends again and with all the wonderful people I did and did not meet. I miss it, everyone and everything about it.
90’s Maryland Rave scene, DJ Scott Henry on the turntables with lasers and smoke dancing off the Potomac for an outdoor night of mind melting mayhem. JeanCo stovepipes, some worn Adidas sneaks, and some feel good friends… all back in the day.
I'm so happy I found this mix. I played this cd SO many times. Was one of my faves! Then someone stole it and I couldn't find it to buy again... And here it is!! Man.....
Pure nostalgia :) This album and a few other, also a few other tracks peppered in, remind me of an awesome time. I was a teenager fresh on the scene. Hitting up Buzz, the Edge, Origin(then Fever) Getting to see some of the best DJs spin live, getting to connect with a rare breed of human and dancing my ass off. It is kind of a glowing blur in my memory but there are some things that definitely stand out and Scott Henry's the Politics of Sound is one of them, cheers :)
I was turned on to the Texas scene after moving down there to go to college back in 1999 (I was living in northern Virginia before moving down there). Some truly epic parties in Texas but I had the best time ever at Frequency Clear in 2001, which ended up being the last rave I went to regretfully (long story). Anyway, came home soaked in sweat, grass clinging to my clothes, dirt stains all over the back of my shirt, and dried mud caked on my shoes. Lol, fun times man. You made it up here (I moved back to the DC area after I graduated) and I made it down there, LOL. Cheers my friend.
BuZZ!! That wall of speakers at the back of the DJ, and me and the homies peddling E and tabs oh shit we made bank!! loved it and the afterparties fuck yeah!!! best time of my life!! If you went to buzz most likely you or your friends got shit from us 😂😂😂Still hustling everyday!!
Once this guy gives me a bill and a half just to eat me...gives me chills too thus mix cd jams Scott where ever you are you have a lot of fans!! What are you doin now?
I’m old now: 42...I loved Buzz...it was my college life and never, ever a bad time...so much consumed

Was it at the paintball arena, Laga, the Irish center, maybe some random roller rink. I sure miss those days. We had a proper scene here in the Burgh.

Buzz and Fever were so iconic. This from someone who was raving in Texas at that time. Did get to go to Buzz once... an amazing night.
