Thank you, an interesting video. In answer to your question: Yes, I was, and have used it to train one of my dogs to love his muzzle and cone, to have nail and tooth care and to overcome noise phobia. Also as part of wider behavioral and management methods to cope with 'enemy' dogs.
Yes I was aware - but the video was invaluable anyway. A trainer I'm on a waiting list for recommended your videos to help get me started with some training on my own while we wait and these are giving me some amazing insights into how to help my dogs. Thankyou 😊
@@Lussuria thank you so much for your kind words. It makes me so happy to see that some of my content is helping my viewers. Thank you thank you thank you. 😊
Yes I knew of CER, I've been using it for cooperative care with my dog. It's very useful ! My dog has grown to love the cone of shame and will get so excited whenever he has to wear it x)
That is fantastic and a fantastic job on your side. Well done. We need more people to see this content. Thanks for watching and for your comment. They help TH-cam promote this content.
Yes I am aware of CER's and am trying to use with my lead reactive terrier. I find your video's really simple to understand and retain😊 which is the important part for me, thank you so much
I’m so lucky that my behaviourist taught me about this when my dog was a pup. We have used CER to get her to enjoy everything from weekly ear cleanings to getting her nails trimmed. It’s very reassuring to know there is no obstacle that cannot be overcome.
@@TrainMePlease she is 4.5! I got in a behaviourist from the association of pet behaviour counsellors when she was a pup and she changed the way I saw my dog and pretty much gave me the info to address any problem we have encountered
I’m trying to figure out how I could use this with my dog who barks at any guests coming into our house. Any hints? I understand the principle, but how to create an easy enough set up so he’d stay calm and I could reinforce that? He looses it and starts barking wildly before the guests have even stepped fully inside.. And it’s hard to find random people to knock at our door 😅 (People he’s familiar with are not a problem).
Thanks for your comment. I think the best piece of advice I can give you is to get a force free positive reinforcement trainer to help you in person or even remotely. I would probably anticipate that part of the solution would require doing some setups with people that he knows first and then with people he doesn't know.
Brill advice should be logic I need help with resource guarding,I am the resource and my dog sometimes attacks the others if they come too close there is sometimes just a split second so I don't know how to anticipate it, the fact I have treats could cause the reaction
Question of the day: were you already aware of conditioned emotional responses and have you tried to use one to help your dog?
Thank you, an interesting video.

thanks for your comment. You might need a good desensitisation and counter conditioning plan to address it.
No I was not aware of CER
Thanks for answering the question of the day. I hope that this video offers a good introduction to the topic.
