Wijk have got to look at the tie break rules and sort it out because it's not good enough having a player miss out unfairly as Alireza was close to. I remember a similar situation happening in the Sinquefield Cup a few years ago and in the end; Fabi, Levon and Magnus agreed to share the title because it would've been a lots draw as to which player missed out on the playoff. These organisers have got to make the playoff scheme fairer.

Not a well thought-out finale (odd tie breaker / disturbance at the board) after an otherwise excellent tournament. Hop, Alireza isn't too upset about this. Jorden OTOH played excellently. I noticed he deliberately tries to find "odd" opening variations (which are still somehow sound, unlike some of Rapports or Dudas decisions).

Sh.. Najdorf again? Wait wait and Nils get the boot as expected. No other tournament in record has Najdorf became so dangerous to play than this 2021Tata chess. Congrats to eventual tour winner Jorden Van Foreest! You deserves it.
Why didn't players know the rules before starting the last game? If a quick victory is a condition for play-offs, that would have factored in opening strategy.
Now tell me it was not engineered. People are imprisoned at homes in the Netherlands. So here is a bone for them - great Dutch final in chess. We will be so happy watching it on TVs while our freedoms are destroyed.

There is no real need for a play-off. If they are equal after a full round robin, that's it. Two winners.

A quick victory obviously wasn’t a condition. It was about the 2 players who had the best Sonneborn-Berger score.
Tata should skip the tie breaks and accept 2 or 3 winners. This was a disgrace. They should be ashamed.
