Sir, do you really think visa interviews happen for European PhD applicants? Don't they just check whether we have sufficient funding or not?

They have to get visas. You have to take the letter of admission and scholarship letter. The interview will take place and you have to give details etc to convince the officer that you are a legitimate student.
