    I searched and tried others. Bought this and have been very pleased with this unit. Have done thousands of cases and all have been done right.

    700F seems pretty low for a full anneal. For example, Annealing Made Perfect anneals a .243 case to 1000F in 3.4 seconds for full anneal.

    It's on a lift. Are you going to change the oil. Please don't tell me it's a transmission problem. Also, you're showing your age. In 1960 cycles (cps) was changed to Hertz to honor the man who discovered alternating current. Love your videos.

    There must be another way to drop the cases neck down into the induction coil so the annealed case can be "plucked" out by the right hand, a new case dropped in by the left hand and step on the foot switch and then repeat. I could imagine 30 - 45 cases a minute.... hummm....

    How hard is it to get a metal pan? Serious question, because the video would have been 100% better if more prepared. I had an Annie and I interfaced it with my Giraud. It worked fine, but sold the setup to get an AMP. My Annie is from 2016 I think, and wasn't as refined as this unit you have. Probably not made in the USA at that time. Glad they brought it in-house.

    At $546 to over $1,000, it’s still out of my league. And it's now $362, was $268, I’ll likely go with the EP Integrations 2.0 Annealer.

      Price went up due to a few things but the newer model is stronger and faster then the one I have. If I had the $$ I’d go with the AMP but I didn’t. I mostly didn’t want to have a torch running at my desk and this method is more consistent.

    From the Annie website under the Warranty Section "How Long Does this Coverage Last
    This limited warranty lasts for seven (7) years from the date of original purchase of this product. This is the realistic defined life of the product." You just spent something like $1400.00 that comes with a bundled death certificate??

    • @Adcomb
      @Adcomb 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      7 years of consistent neck tension is well worth $1400 for those of us who actually shoot. And it doesnt cost 1400. It costs half that.

    Understanding the science behind electromagnetic induction heating, I have to ask, is the water cooling really necessary? Seems like an unnecessary added cost to the unit. ???
    Other than that one question mark in my head...this looks awesome.

    • @MrBryanJollie
      @MrBryanJollie 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No it’s not necessary. But it does help keep it from getting hot with heavy use. If you are only doing a piece of brass every 10 seconds or so it would be ok. But for running a heavier workload it helps a lot.

    • @MrJeffreyTSanford
      @MrJeffreyTSanford 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As Bryan has stated as well, the efficiency of the Annie is increased so that a case can be done every 3 seconds by decreasing heat over all. Coming from a flame annealing background this Annie unit is small, powerful and much more accurately anneals than flame. Stows easier as well. Since each Annie goes through a rigorous build and testing process you have to be patient when ordering as nothing leaves Fluxeon till it is perfect period. Enjoy.

      Helical inductions coils have to be water cooled for continued use. Otherwise, you will kill the induction board itself. If you use a Ferrite core for induction, it requires no water cooling. Also with a Ferrite core you’re using litz wire and not copper tubing.

    • @MrJeffreyTSanford
      @MrJeffreyTSanford 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jetthreat5000 The coil in use is copper tubing and water cooled. Yes, If you use a Ferrite core for induction, it requires no water cooling or is optional with litz wire. There is much going on here.

    • @MrBryanJollie
      @MrBryanJollie 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That’s a really good question. My answer would be not so much in prolonging brass life, even though it does that, but the consistency in reloading the brass. Especially in working the neck. When you are wanting consistent sd’s it’s pretty important.

    • @additudeobx

      I agree with you but... how expensive a car does a person need to drive to work & to the grocery store? My car was just over $45K... so I guess it's relative to some....

    • @twilightroach4274
      @twilightroach4274 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I concur with Bryan Jollie. IMO Induction Annealing is Essential for competition shooting, where consistency is absolutely paramount but for hunters that just want extended brass life I’d go the salt bath method, with the right setup i believe is far more consistent than a gas burner system. I had a gas burner system & I hated using it, I looked at salt bath & I bought the AMP unit & I now anneal for other people so I’m getting a little bit back!

    • @pstewart5443
      @pstewart5443 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So there's more to annealing than just brass life. It's a common misunderstanding. Annealing changes the characteristics of neck tension in relation to holding the bullet over non-annealed cases. The Annealing Made Perfect folks did a lot of research on this and have it on their website. One thing that must be understood in competitive shooting long-range or benchrest. Consistency is what it takes to win consistently. Annealed brass offers a brass case with a neck that is in the same condition consistently and that is annealed (returned to a softer condition with metals aligned properly and cracks reduced or removed.) Cases which aren't annealed can vary in hardness depending on the number of firings, method of resizing, measurement of resizing, etc, etc. That isn't consistent. Flyers are exponentially more likely using unannealed brass. With annealed brass you may see one or two flyers out of a 100 round group maintaining all other factors consistent in a custom rifle. There's a reason the Hall of Fame bench rest shooters and national competitors in F-Class anneal their brass after every firing. I wouldn't spend this much on an annealer (I bought the AMP Mk2 after doing flame annealing for a few years) unless I saw the difference it makes. My groups out of my custom rifle go from 1.5" to 0.75" MOA unannealed to anywhere from 0MOA to 0.1-0.2" annealed, at 100 yds. You might ask, well that's not a big deal. You're right it isn't, until I multiply those numbers by 10 for 1k yard competitions and 1.6 or greater for ELR. Then that X ring of 5" at 1k goes to the 8, 9, or 10 ring. One being winning matches and the other clapping for the winner. I'm not telling you that you need to buy a $1500 annealer, but I am saying it makes a difference and at least anneal with a drill and a propane torch until you get sick of it and decide this is a faster, safer option when you're annealing the same case out of 1000 case lot for the 15th time.
