Each of its corner have stories to tell, stories of loyalty, stories of betrayal and tales of someone's dream being burned in someone's trial of reaching the throne.. In the end they all returned to nothing but dust.. Magnificent century.. 😪

The reason why it collapsed was because of incapable Sultans not because of the harem, Sultans only had a max of two-eight consorts in his lifetime at least until after the 17th century when Sultans Mahmud II and forward had countless. Thing is about harem it isn’t just a place where women are used to reproduce for the dynasty its also a nursery and education centre for women, any woman that entered harem are very lucky. You’d see that they get an education and if they never bore a son for the Sultan they would be married off to suitable men from the outside. After Sultan Suleiman there weren’t any wars between the dynasty there were just issues with the Janissaries overthrowing the Sultans, this is evident after the regency of Turhan Sultan.
