Yeah my winrate with Sisay in the january event was about 80%... Same with Emry. As much as I love combos like this, Paradox Engine might have to be banned in Historic Brawl
love your videos per usual. As a fellow paradox engine player in historic.. double pressing qq will tap all your mana for you - its insanely convenient for turns where you are going off with paradox and untapping everything anyways. Much faster and easier than manually tapping!
This channel is eventually gonna blow up, and deservedly so. I'm just glad that I'm an early subscriber; it's like going all in on a stock that you know will eventually skyrocket in price because the animation and work that's put into each video is astonishing.
This video is amazingly enjoyable! I never play historic but I’ve been trying some Esika legendary shenanigans in standard after seeing the festival deck with her in it, so this was awesome to see! Thanks!
Thank you! Yeah 1,0 is crazy xD But to be fair this project really took some intense tome and effort. The written part of the thesis focused on the analytics and social media though.
@@BrewersKitchen whats wrong with maths and statistics? As a physics student myself thats the kind of things i do aswell. (Though on other "systems" of course.) I'd still be interested in reading your abstract. (but please dont feel pressured into disclosing anything,if you dont feel like it. Im just genuineley curious.)
Oh don't get me wrong I love browsing through analytics. It was just a hard month going from making funny magic content to writing about numbers xD I'm not going to release my abstract but I may make a video going over some ineresting things in my statistics
Kaya might be "win more" but is really great with Karn's Temporal Sundering edit: This is also what we get for commenting before finishing the video where you cover this.
Wow, this deck is worth watching the video ^^ You're quite on the level of MTG Arena Original Decks and Mono Black Magic - two very entertaining channels!
Really love the way you edit your videos to speed up the games and draw focus on certain cards/plays! Wish I could watch everyone's games this way...(cough CGB cough)
Thank you! Yeah it's a lot of workt to edit the games down to the interactions. MTG Goldfish is more and more starting to impliment an editing style like this from what I've seen in recent videos
@@BrewersKitchen I only needed 1 rare and 3 mythic, so didn't hesitate! I play 5 games in casual and only lost one, it's super fun to combo from nowhere xD nice break from WW
After watching a bit more, I realize it is not that close to manaless, but it feels like it could be, if some of the creatures could be cheated into play.
Absolutely loving this. Just discovered your channel, insta subscribe. Imo you don't need to edit the games themselves as much, it's a lot more work for you with little payoff. Your editing before and after adds a lot though :D

Good to finally see content from you again. Any estimate on when your historic brawl decks will be featured? (I follow you specifically for brawl content, hehe)
First of all, I think we might actually get historic brawl with the new Anthology, the card choices make no sense otherwise. I mean, I usually play exclusively historic brawl when it's available so I will probably make a video about it xD The only problem is the decktech. My Jodahs WTF-Machine had a very fucused gameplan wich was good to give the viewers a sense of what the deck is trying to do.
Hmm good question! I guess I'd start with the 4th Urza's Ruinous Blast and dedicate a few cards in the board to some copies of Karn, the Great Creator and some Hate/Combo Pieces to grab with it. I dont know if it is worth to keep the "legendary theme" through the sideboard but there are some legends that might be worth including. Reidane, God of the Worthy against Red, Mayhem Devil ect.; Chandra, Awakened Inferno and Toski, Barer of Secrets can catch control decks by surprise in game two; Kambal is good against spellheavy aggro decks; Kuronos is cute, but maybe just include a Grafdiggers Cage with the Karnboard if you play it; Yasharn seems good; Koma seems good against control. I guess I have to play some matches with this before I can tell you if it's worth keeping it all-legendary. Kambal and Kuronos might be a little risky with that few black sources as well.
@@BrewersKitchen Wow, thank you for the detailed reply! I ask because I only play best of 3 and this deck looks pretty sweet, but I wasn't quite sure how to build a sideboard. With some good sideboarding I think this deck could have a chance against the hyper aggro in historic, but we'll see. Thanks again, great video!
No probelm! Funnily enough I was wondering about a sideboard for this deck myself after I uploaded the video and played some games with it again. The aggro matchups are going to be the hard ones. Reidane (the shield side) has put in some legit work for me in control decks. It also hoses random combos like Niv-Mizzet Parun / Curiosity or Locust God / Sage of the Falls. Shalai may be good against burn decks as well
Update: Just played against Jund Sacrifice, lost game one and then won game two and three by hosing them out of the game with Yasharn, Reidane and Shalai. (two of each, I did cut Emry, 1 Paradox Engine, 3 Karns Temporal Sundering and Chromatic Orrary) Still not sure about the Karn board but is looks like sweet tech against mono brown and control
I’ve been playing a Captain Sisay historic brawl deck with that Paradox Engine combo. It super consistent and I pull the combo off every time I play it, but I only ever win if my opponent concedes before Arena times out. Tried using Kamahl’s Druidic Vow as a way to get the rest of our deck we can’t cast before timing out as a way to speed things up, but Arena still sometimes times out. That timer has ruined so many of my decks.
Sisay Engine is such a consistent gameplan! Haven't played her in brawl for a while. Use "QQ" to tap all your noncreature manasources at once to save time with Paradox Engine. Once I got the loop going I usually tutored up Ulamog, Lithoform Engine, Helm of the Host (and stuff to cast for the untap trigger). Then use the Lithoform to copy Ulamogs cast trigger, the Helm of the Host trigger and the Ulamog attack trigger. This should pretty much win the game and is relatively fast once you know how to do it
@@BrewersKitchen Unfortunately, I play on Arena Mobile and I don’t know of a similar “QQ” trick for Mobile. My gameplan for the deck usually involves using Oketra’s Monument and Torin to make an army of tokens and make giant versions of Yorvo, Lord of Garenbrig and Shanna, Sisay’s Legacy.
@@BrewersKitchenWhen it works, it feels awesome and when it doesn’t it’s cool to see what my opponent does, so I try not to get too annoyed when I lose. Especially since it’s not ranked. I do get super annoyed when the timer makes me lose with my Vadrok, Apex of Thunder deck for Explorer.
16:58 why didn't you play Emry to chump with it instead of Magda to have a leftover legend, giving yourself a chance for a Urzas ruinous blast next turn?
Well, hello there! You discovered my old channel. Here’s where you can find my new content: th-cam.com/play/PLtLlcD-b2JREOG3BdTa9U334gPuVO__0c.html
My favorite creature type that I use when it does not matter is "Sculpture", a creature type exclusive to a token created by a single creatures
That first opponent saying oops then absolutely eating it was great.
Yeah this one was as clutch as it gets xD
My go to creature type to pick when it doesn't matter is elk
Oh damn, should have thought about this one xD I guess my brain suppressed all the memories of Oko xD
Trilobite for the win

I generally go assembly worker myself.
I go with hag but elk is good too
I honestly cannot believe you do not have more subs; you definitely deserve them for how much time and effort you put into these quality videos
Thank you! We'll get there some day :)
I agree. This is great and high production
Sisay + Paradox Engine is just disgusting in Historic Brawl, there's a pretty good reason that card is banned in Commander. So many possible combos.

Once you had infinite mana you could’ve just given infinite +1/+1 counters to your creatures and swung out. But I guess the Jace route works too 💙
