Rebound, I will be with you in spirit. How great Bud is getting to stretch his legs on the trail with you tomorrow. Here’s praying for good weather and safe travels to you and Bud. Looking forward to your journey. Sookie 2016
Love your farm. I’m a country girl myself. It made me tear up when you said goodbye to your chickens. I’m sending prayers and wishes for your journey to be wonderful. I will be following and always wishing I could be on the trail too.
Awww... Bravery to watch? I'm glad you did, and thank you for your comment. I miss you so much.❤️ Hoping you are back on trail SOON! ...and with a completely healed knee! Please take care of yourself!!
I hope you enjoy watching your hiking journey as much as I do, Rebound. Love that your husband shared the start with you and I'm excited for the next post! May God provide you with a pep in your step all the way to mama K🥾
Ma'am, I am so excited to keep up with your journey as much as I can. I am starting the trail this week and I am so excited to meet amazing people like you.
Fantastic video. Best wishes to you and your caring husband Bud. I am getting excited about this experience you are taking on. I have been watching AT videos for a few years now and met a lot of wonderful people. I feel like those of us commenting are able to provide some sort of support on top of those you meet on the trail. Best wishes to you.
So happy that you and your husband made it to Amicalola Falls safely. Your videos are very professional, and it will be so exciting to follow you and be part of your virtual tramily on your journey. Please stay health and safe !
Wonderful registration day. Your husband was funny & watching his unescorted wild doe. We have 16 chickens & they each have their own personality. The 4 Guinea hens we have are the cutest & noisiest of any foul though. Love the farm life. You have a nice home w/ a nice trail at your front yard. And, a charming funny husband watching you. Something to look forward to coming home to. Stay safe & remember to start slow & then go slower
Oh, yay! Another chicken lady who 'gets it' ! Thank you for your kind comment about our place. I am SO Blessed with my husband. I love that so many people can see that. 😊 I wish he would do some videos to supplement mine about what it's like for him there at home, being a support person.
You just might catch up! The trail is strange that way! I hope you have a safe, fun and successful hike! ...and I, too, hope our paths cross. Also, my videos go down hill from here on our. Lol. I love this format, too, but I just can't sustain it out here.
A beautiful home like yours is the kind of place every hiker needs to carry with them, to come back to. And the people there waiting, who care. But some hikers you meet, young and old, don't have either of these things at this point in their lives for one reason or another. Travel can be so very different if you don't have a forever home. And being alone feels much farther away if no one is thinking of you. Remember this when you meet people on the trail. They may not understand yet why they are hiking, as you do. Perhaps a simple encounter with you will be an important piece of their puzzle.
This is such wise advice. Thank you. Please keep it coming! You also express yourself so eloquently. I also have to say that I feel so very blessed to live where I do with the husband I am blessed with. I'm trying to be more 'other' focused this time, and pray God will help me do that!
what a great video. Your videography skills are second to none. I don’t know how you do it. You put a lot of other videographers to shame without even intending to. And the Sasquatch hair bit is terribly funny😂😂😂😂
It is good to be difficult to do good videos out here. Finding that out already, but I'll do the best I can. The Sasquatch hair gets much worse, as you will see. Thank you for your kind words and support, Ron!
What a wonderfully creative video! You are a gifted storyteller. I am very much looking forward to following your journey. Thanks for sharing. Also, I think your sasquatch hair looks cool.
Thank you for your kind comment. My future videos coming up are really rough. I don't have the time out here to be as creative, but I hope you will still enjoy them. I also appreciate your comment about my Sasquatch hair. It only gets worse from here on out. Looking more like Grandma Sasquatch these days!
Friday, March 15th: Early start for road trip. Registration and traditional arch photo. Lodge room with gorgeous view, and senior discount. Good beginning! You got this! Happy Trails! Ross08
It's called 'bullet proof coffee'. The butter tastes better than either milk or cream (the real stuff), and the fat takes away your hunger. The only drawback is that it requires 'blending' of one kind or another, or all the rendered butter goes to the top. Try it! It takes a few tries to realize the benefits. Try to use USDA AA butter. Almost all butter sold in stores is AA, so the price difference in many cases (no pun intended) is cosmetic. Just like real cream, the flavor depends upon what the cow has been eating; so pasture grass/alfalfa/clover fed animals tastes incredibly better than grain fed cattle, hence the difference in imported butters and American butter. But the benefits, beyond the flavor differences, is the same.

Thank you, Ross!!
Best of British luck! from UK
Thank you so much!! I think you are my first comment from across the pond! 🥰
Love the Sasquatch hair term. I’ve needed a descriptive term like that for my sometimes unruly mop! Hope you don’t mind if I use it.
I don't mind at all!! Use the term liberally. It really is fitting...but sorry you suffer from it, too.😅
Call me crazy, but I've never seen anybody add butter to their coffee. Is this a "Southern thing"?

Yep. Bud is right! It sure beats the powdered milk I've been using out here on the trail!😏
