Yes I can surely find similarities with "Just like heaven". Maybe a bit uptempo. Vocals are more flat though.
If you listen to them back to back, they are not really similar at all. You're hearing it because you want to hear it.
Quite a different song though. "Just Like Heaven" is a joyous love song. "Safe tonight" is about domestic abuse.
I kept feeling like I should be able to sing the words to this, but couldn't figure out why ..that was it. Even when they have a similar sound to other songs, it's still so much their own style.
