Sometimes your optimism seems a bit over the top. But mostly, it's refreshing because what we hear almost everywhere else is endless pessimism. Keep up the good work.
I’d rather have this than a bunch of dreadful criticism. There should only be one or two teams that KNOW they wont make any noise, and there’s no team right now that doesn’t have a reason to be positive.
Los Angeles Raider fan. I’ve been telling these new Raider fans to not sleep on Bo Nix! It’s like everyone forgot what he did with a good offensive game plan and weapons! He was considered a top 10 pick and better on other sites! We need to can these Chiefs and get back to the Raiders Broncos of old! Nail biters! I think you guys have finally found your guy. We are not all delusional. Most of us old school Raider fans are just hopeful!
I really thought Carr was your guy when he was drafted. Being a Broncos fan, I was expecting much bigger things from him. Mcd came and destroyed Raiders as he did with the Broncos. Now, we need to rebuild and throw Chiefs off the top. 😀
I do not mind at all trading the 6th rounder for a 7th and Zac Wilson, because maybe the change of scenery was needed for him. If not, you just move down one round, with players in late rounds not usually impacting as often as 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rounders. If it is anywhere near close between the three QBs, then just run with Nix and move on to the future.
Crystal clear that Payton is not going to tell the media what he really thinks right now...that's all. He wants all 3 to keep pushing hard -- it's called being a coach.
@@OutsidetheEchochamber "Crystal clear" would be something like, "Bo Nix is going to be our starter on day 1," he did not crown any of them as the starter. You can try and read tea leaves, but this is Sean Payton, he's not going to tip his hand and he still wants the three QBs to work at winning the job.
I'm ready for a playoff run from the Denver Broncos at this point for sure. I can't continue to just keep singing the praises of the newcomer under center the way we've all been doing every year. At some point, we're going to have to be a bit more patient before we just go all in and give the new guy full access to the crown. It's come back to bite us in the arse more often than not. Let's go Broncos.
Well, he has 24 TD in 5 years, and last year was his best year ever. Also, he is ranked 41st in the NFL, so by stats, he is a number 2 or worse on every other team except in Denver, but that's not his fault because he had the R.W factor not helping anyone in Denver. Personally, I'm hoping he is a legit top 10 this year, not 41st. He can do better, but I'm not giving him the top ten money at 41st if I ran the payroll, but that's not my job. So tell me, were you all in on Russell Wilson from day one because I thought it was a bad deal from the start.
Well, Ben. Sroke the shaft and cradle the balls, bro, but ten touchdown isn't getting me too excited. As we all know, this is a, what you have done for me lately league. I've been to the show me state, so show me. Let's go, Broncos!!
10 TD's in a year where the leading Receiving TDs was 13 by Mike Evans and Tyreek Hill.... Cortland was tied for 4th most TDs last year. But yeah, "stroke the shaft and cradle the ball, bro".....
Ben...tap the brake my friend. Nothing has become clear on day 2 of TC, & if Sean decided on his starting QB based on the strength of a few passes thrown in shorts & T-shirts I would have to lower my opinion of his coaching skill by several notches because that's not indicative of the kind of exceptional coach i think he is. This idea that we have to "quickly decide" who is going to be QB 1 is a VERY bad idea sir. Forget the TC reps & how many each QB is getting. That is not the important factor here. Sean said the starter at every position would EARN it. Do you really want this team to feel that a rookie was simply handed this job without any real competition? That's not how you built faith & trust in teammates with your quarterback. It's how you divide a locker room. As for Zach Wilson, he was not obtained in order to compete for the starting role in 2024. That much is very clear sir. He sat for 3 years inside one of the worst QB coaching rooms in the NFL. How clueless are they? They hired Nathaniel Hackett AFTER he failed miserably here. What do you think Sean is able to do with him in just a few days after that? Answer...NOTHING. Wilson has to be rebuilt from the ground up. He has to be taught Sean's system for starters. He also has to work on reading defenses, which he struggles with. He then has to get some reps in preseason games...and all three of these things can't possibly happen by day 2 of TC. He's going to be the personal project of Davis Webb, & we should not expect him to show any progress till next season. Bo Nix has always had a pretty decent arm. Anyone who read real scouting reports instead of listening to the random media voices already knew coming into the draft that he has an NFL arm. Is it a top echelon one like Zach Wilson's? No. It's good enough...but he's not Patrick Mahomes or Josh Allen. That's not required in Sean's system, so even if he didn't have more than an average arm, it wouldn't impact my thinking on him much more than about 5%-10% in terms of how I see his potential here. I'm FAR more concerned than he has had almost no extended exposure to making NFL progressions & reads in a college system that was basically worthless for 4 of the 5 years he spent playing in school. You need to give this kid more than TWO DAYS before you anoint him. In point of fact...& I realize you're not going to want to hear this...but you might need to give him TWO YEARS. That's what it took Drew Brees to become a halfway decent starter. I'm talking number of actual starts here, not seasons. It took THREE seasons before Drew was a pretty good NFL QB, & since he got no starts as a rookie, that means it took 27 live games PLUS 16 more that he sat on the bench before he was completing above 60% of his passes & not throwing an INT for every TD he tossed. Bo Nix is not ready to do that simply because he spent an extra year in Gus Malzahn's hurry up-no huddle offense making one or two reads & throwing to NFL caliber players against weaker competition. He needs time to develop...more than 2 days in TC. I know you think you're on team Bo Nix, but this kind of pressure the entire Denver media is putting on this kid is not healthy. If you are not concerned about that, you should find out what happened to Bo in 2021 when he was playing for Bryan Harsin, Auburn's new HC who brought in an NFL passing offense & expected Nix to perform in it. It did not go very well. He was benched temporarily, & it likely would have been for the year if Auburn had anyone else who was capable. Why do you think he transferred to Oregon? It was to get out of that system...so give this guy more than his rookie TC please.
I've been on the trade him bus, don't get me wrong I've Always quietly hoped we'd find a way to keep him. That said holy heck St.Elway, Lookout Andy and the chefs, The Ponies are stampeding baby! And dey ain't gonna be no flying away.
Coach wants Wilson to be a legit #2, and nix to be the #1 so they can save money and still be sensational. After all, they are rebuilding. 5 million saved is one more key player signed.
Payton would love to develop Wilson into a legit QB. He would then be insurance in case Nix flops or gets injured. If Nix meets expectations, a rebuilt Wilson would mean he has trade value as well. It's really in the Bronco's best interest to develop him for a variety of reasons.
Pay him " up to " 15.2 million for what? What does that mean. Whats the requirements for him to be able to make that much? Does that have to do with his performance or what. Just curious.. Would anyone be able to answer. Pretty please
Exactly! Brock Purdy doesn’t have a cannon, Drew Brees was winning with Payton his last few years and could hardly throw and our last Super Bowl with Manning his arm strength had really diminished
@SportsTalkDenver It's all about accuracy and seeing the field, and quick, good decisions. Canon arm is not necessary to play the game at the highest level. Smart wins

It’s nice because I can eat whatever I want then, have a normal meal with my family and during the day when I’m busy at work it’s not even hard. First few weeks getting used it it was brutal but I’ve been doing it for a few years and am totally used to it
The Broncos won this negotiation with Sutton. He didn't get a cash raise. Everything is incentive based. If he achieves all his incentives, then he'll get a little bump and if he doesn't the Broncos aren't out anymore money. It's perfect for a guy who got overpaid 2 years ago and now he has to prove himself. He is not CD lamb or a top tier receiver. Yet.
