My grandson is in the pool at 5:30 a.m. 6 days a week and back in the pool by 4:30 p.m. Great training produces great results: the Mids did it again! Both the men's and women's swim teams won the Patriot League Championships last weekend. So proud!!

I watched this video all the time while I was applying to the naval academy. I put my heart and soul into getting in, so when I was rejected I was devastated. But even after I got that rejection letter, I remembered the words in this video and I remembered my "why". Three weeks after getting that letter I left for marine boot camp. Now, four months later as I sit in a holding platoon waiting to leave for MOS school I'm watching it again. The last time I watched it was the day I left home. I'm a marine now, but my heart is still set on the Naval Academy. I haven't given up, and I will not quit. It is my dream to be a marine officer out of USNA. Someday I will get there. Semper fidelis.
Never forget nor give up on your dreams! I was enlisted for 2 years before going to the Naval Academy. The midshipman in the video at 2:09 was a prior Marine and applied to the Naval Academy 3 times before finally being accepted. Meanwhile, learn from where you are at as an enlisted Marine and gather the experience that will make you successful at the Naval Academy.
