But when I visit India and in-laws in Chennai, I have always shopped in Flora in-store in pondibazaar for last 18yrs (opposite to Balaji bhavan) The cloth quality is hands down the best and very affordable. I put them in washer and dryer . Prints have remained same and so is the color . I am a stickler for cotton and they have never disappointed me so far. But they have all kinds of material. If there is one place I NEVER shop is Pothys. Their quality is terrible.

Exactly correct mam, Im from canada when I go india , I always buy dresses from small shops. Big shops materials are not good but too much costly.. from small shops good material with reasonable prices.

Isn't it a little embarrassing to show everything you are gifting your family especially your nieces. Laptop, jewellery... Yeah we understand you are going from US but this is very awkward. It could have been avoided. Also, for dresses especially if you are in the XL range its best to buy material and take to a tailor and get it sewed. This was you don't have to worry about inconsistency in sizes. Just because everything is cheaper you cant compare to the US.. what you get in US is from Asia in a totally different quality..
