Lifelong Seahawks fan here...the narrative back in the day was the Seahawks O-Line was bad because of sacks. I said it then and I'll say it now.....at least 50% of the sacks given up were 100% Wilsons fault. He doesn't get rid of the ball fast enough and takes a TON of unnecessary sacks. It's always been this way and frustrated the hell out of me.
Tomlin needs to stop tryna play people out of position he did it to green then Dotson and now jones and it is effecting them

Seriously, it's wild how great Dotson performed as soon as he left the Steelers bad O-Line system.

There's a reason why he is being paid 30m+ this year to NOT play for Denver.
The O-Line play was genuinely horrible for these first 2 preseason games. With that being said, Wilson still played poorly tonight and made bad decisions. The good thing is that we know Russ is capable, 26 TD and 8 INT in 15 starts is a lot better than we got from Pickett and Trubisky.
HE THREW ONLY CHECK DOWNS TO PAD HIS STATS BECAUSE HIS DEEP BALL IS LOST, he has became BLIND missing WIDE OPEN WRs EVERY GAME that would literally change the game, and he’s slow and holds the ball and is washed up. That’s the reality. Pete Carroll and the LOB and beast marshawn lynch made Wilson. Not a HOFer.

I cant wait for the Shitsburg to get the Russell Wilson experience. Run, Run, Sack, punt. You guys will struggle to maintain drives, and will be terrible on 3rd down. Russ is so easy to gameplan for at this point in his career. If people are looking for a good fantasy defense option just take whoever is playing Russ. Dude loves taking record amounts of sacks.

@@marc-gomes I played football even got 3 picks my last season in high school. Anyway I don't have to watch I already know Russ is the most sacked QB in the NFL since 2012 by a large margin. He can't get the ball out on time That won't be changing anytime soon. I watched him hold the ball and run himself into sacks while guys run open for 2 miserable seasons. I'm sure this year will be different 😂

All the 3rd and longs tell the story. Russ is a poor game manager. He has to clean that up.
Here's the problem I see.
It'll take the O-line about 8 games to mesh and play adequately.
If they're 3-5 after that, then they're in trouble with the back half of the schedule.
And you can expect Fields to start 6 games or so due to Wilson being injured behind said O-line.
And it'll probably happen sooner than you'd think.

If this is a true QB comeptition, i dont think neother have done enough tonwin the job, but I would give the nod to Fields. Bad C play, and more diversity in Smith's system would give him the nod. It doesn't help that Jones can't stay on LT where he's comfortable.
Not sure what you mean by bad C play...Frazier looked good again. Bad OT plays have been killing the offense so far. QBs haven't been making bad throws or bad decisions, the drives have stalled due to our Tackles (specifically Right OT) letting pressure in 1 second after the snap

Russ can game manage. The problem is he can’t make the big plays anymore. If you can give a handful of big plays, managing the game the rest of the way can fly a lot of times. But just game management isn’t going to work. He can’t carve a defense up for chunky plays, and takes too many sacks that kill drives

He's really been underwhelming since he won the Superbowl with the Seahawks. He just never recovered from the Superbowl hangover.
Tomlin is honestly overrated as a head coach, reminds me of Pete Carroll who just got by staying at .500. They both won Super Bowls a decade ago. Going 9-8 yearly isn’t doing the franchise any favors.

Credit Pete Carroll for maximizing Wilson's abilities and minimizing his weaknesses. Time to give credit to Pete as a coach for being able to do this with allot of players over the years.
Considering that the O-line was horrible he did quite well with what he had knowing the receiver group needs help too. 8/10 would’ve been more accurate.
So glad we got rid of this has been in Denver. Worlds worse NFL deal...I feel sorry for the Steelers as well. Wilson cant see anything past his flat throw, he cant even see past the o-line. I dont know how teams are still continually fooled by this guy...he is junk. He never has any throws over 10 yards.

As a broncos fan I think I was one of the ones that defended russ because he did play ok last year but he wasn't very good at the same time. He missed receivers when they were wide open. Not that he missed the pass he just didn't see them at all.

I'm not sure you watched Wilson in Denver or his last couple seasons in Seattle. When you say things like "Wilson's good at getting around pressure." And "He may have to get rid of the ball earlier." Wilson is cooked! He is slow and holds the ball too long. Pete was the only coach willing to design a scheme and team around Wilson because he drafted him. Teams that trade for him need to win now they don't have the ability to change literally everything to help make Wilson successful.

Pre-season iis for trying out the new ppl. Since they took out 1 game for reg season you will be lucky to see many starters. Maybe 1st quarter of the last pre-season. The rest is for new players and rookies to make the team.

I didn't see the game from our kansas city area. But from your clip it looks like steelers were in situations of "long yardage" a lot. I believe Tomlin needs to give russ some help with screens and blocking. I foresee a lot of 3 and outs otherwise

6:10 could've been a dot to Van Jefferson, the saftey was playing way to high, and the linebacker was beat over the top when he sunk to the short route underneath.
Even if he threaded it over the corner, the safety probably would've put him in the hospital.

Just remind me what QB you have coached, or NFL team you have played on? I don’t know what Russ is at this point in his career. Haven’t seen him much. What I saw tonight was hard to judge due to how poorly the line played. Plus it was his first action of the preseason. I’ll hold off judgment for now.
They continually put him under Center. You have to give your QB Atleast 3 seconds to make a read and get rid of the ball on passing plays. He and Fields got about 2 on a good play. It will come with time. Those play calls weren’t exactly feeding into their strengths on offense. That will change when the regular season starts.
Steelers need to stop their obsession with playing lineman out of position. Jones has been playing RTand LT all camp. No wonder hes getting blown up, hes getting zero consistency at practice and that definitely doesn't help him dial in his game.

In seattle Russ more often then not would not stay in the pocket but ran all over the place and did pretty good at it. He was not a good pocket QB and age has got in the way as he just doesn't move like he used to. The Steelers are in for one heck of a season if they start Wussle Rillson..
It doesn't matter Fields or Russ #77 was getting dogged again this week. They have some On-line issues.

Tomlin is and has always been the weak link in the Steeler chain. You will see that this year. The gutless Rooneys should have fired him years ago and he would have been fired years ago anywhere else. But Tomlin was a DEI hire and the Rooneys founded that hiring initiative. Now they are stuck with it. Mason Rudolph had enough of the Tomlin show and he is killing it this year again.
