Daniel Woolcott targets big rudd from the river Cam on floating crust, before walking and talking us through an incredible capture he had from a gravel pit a few years back!
I'm a carp angler at heart, but there's nothing more beautiful that swims in our waterways, than a great big rudd. The cinematography is incredible. Great vid!
How do you do it Dan, its a feat in itself to catch two three pound rudd but for there to be cameras as well, stunning looking fish, on the float, amazing, another top top catch by you great viewing and welldone, keep em coming ❤❤❤❤👌👌👌👌👌
Feel, look and fight like a Roach/Crucian hybrid ... Best way of describing them! Still slimy like Roach, (albeit not as much!), But a cracking catch, on ANY day!! 👍
My club lake had huge rudd untill they put catfish in there and huge perch I think might still be there but you have to fish for them in the winter used to catch 2lbers regularly people had them over 3lb
Traditional feeder tactics? Was that a Quiver rod and maggot feeder approach? What rod would you employ for those beautiful fish ,I love the ultralight 11'6/12'6 feeder combo . Great video thanks again 👍
Only proper anglers know how amazing Rudd actually are!!? I've caught some blinders on the canal, 2lb plus. When I was actually 15 years old and after ANYTHING I could catch, (before the pole scene), loved the big Roach, big Rudd, plenty hybrids and Perch GALORE!!! 😆
Lovely fish,, not many up in lans left ,, as a young lad we had alot in mill ponds now few n far between,, probably the obsession with de weeding n removing cover hasn't helped
Great film. But why apologize for catching fish on bite alarms and baitrunners? You are a true big fish angler and can or even should use whatever is effective at the time - apart from dynamite fishing that is 🤣😆🤣 Keep on catching them!

Absolutely love these specialist angling videos please keep them coming! Especially on the more traditional tactics such as the float or quiver tip!

Willan lake Milton Keynes early 90s. They lowered the lake level. Rudd fishing was on fire. Best was 6 over 2lb in a three hour morning session,

Next time that happens, do try to catch it on film.
It'll go viral. No question.
