RUDD FISHING TIPS - SUCCESS on the Fens

- Join me on my return to the Fens. I failed to get my big Fenland Rudd last year so I am back for another crack at it! In the video I share a few Rudd fishing tips that I've picked up along the way. I've kind of fallen in love with Fenland and these wild Rudd are very special fish indeed.
I am accompanied by Dan, Becker and Alley on the banks of these awesome drains. We're fishing with bread carefully present underneath floats, which is a stunning way to catch these fish. Lots of roving, lots of effort, but lots of laughs and some incredible specimens along the way.
Thanks as always for checking out the video :)

Without a doubt , the best looking fish that swims in the our waters. Stunning fish.
100%, and these wild ones in our drains are really special. I’ll hopefully catch a few more, but probably next year now tbh.
Wow. I've had a few about a pound/pound and a half from the Thurne but it's taken 35 years 😂 Proper job. 👍🏻
I can certainly see me doing more Rudd fishing on the Fens. It’s quite a wild environment… love it 👍
Great video Nick … we’ve had some cracking Rudd out of the Little Ouse my son had one 2 years ago that weighed 4lb 2 oz it was an absolute stunning fish. Love watching all your videos
Some stunning Rudd Nick , a lot better then last year , beautiful colours and a nice whopper too 👍 really like that roving vest mate.
Cheers mate. Enjoyed last year but it was a bit disappointing. So good to get a few decent fish this time round 👍👏👏👏
great stuff, perseverance paid off!!
Yeah. Was a bit disappointed last year so was really made up with this one! 👍👍👍👍
Some bloody gorgeous Rudd there, Nick. Nothing beats having a good fishing session with your mates. Brill video!
Bribed them with doughnuts and beer 😉😂😂😂
Lovely fish 👏🎣
Got there eventually 😂😂👍
Just tremendous 🎉
Got there eventually! Persistent if nothing else!!! Cheers 👍🙌
BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
Cheers mate. Enjoy the vid 👏👏👌
Awesome video….see you boys soon
You’re a star mate. Totally selfless as you guide us around the drains showing us the way 🙏👏👏👏
Awesome Nick! Bit jealous of the roving vest!🤣
On the note of tackle, the glide is still a cracking rod, got mine paired with a 4000 Zelos, lovely setup!
If you love roving then the vest is epic 👍👍 Fished with the glide so much over the last couple of years … big fan! 👍👌 thanks for checking out the video 🙏👏👏
Enjoyed that 👌
Cheers mate. Appreciated 👍👌
Brilliant video 🎣
Cheers Terry!
Glorious stuff mate
Love exploring and the fens are a great place to do it! Cheers mate 👍👏👏👏
great vid, keep up the good work!
Hey, really appreciate that 🙌👍👏👏👏
Fantastic content as ever thanks for all the hard work. Would love to see you go after these Rudd on the dry fly or micro lures
Oh wow. Yes, would be amazing on the fly. Maybe one day. Very nice suggestion 👌👍
Great video!
Thanks for checking it out. So nice to get some decent fish after a bit of a struggle last year 👍👍
Great video. Tried the fens a few times after a 2lber but without much knowledge im just wandering stretches no knowing if they are in those bits.
Fire in some bread and then just walk along side it as it floats downstream. Every so often a better fish would take a free offering. Maybe give that a go. Thanks for checking out the video 👍👍👍
2:55 why didn't you use fish care PROPOLIS on it? please take it with you and treat any hook holes and cuts :)
Yes, good shout. I’d scaled back to just my roving vest. I’ll put some in next time.
is it too cold for rudd fishing now in your waters? im from sweden and i cant seem to catch any coarse fish right now :(
Personally I target them near the surface in the summer months. Never fished for them passed august.
Next time Nick try eating earlier and be on the bank at dusk into dark. That’s when the bigguns come out to play 😉
I have them here. I can’t throw them back they are an invasive species
