    The old Lorena Bobbit method 👍🏻 I use your method when I recap. A lot easier! Thanks Dr Chris 👍🏻 Got a few boards to do at some point. Thanks for the encouragement 🎉

    You are going to HECK!!!!! LOL Your way of removing caps is probably the cleanest most efficient way out there. Why is bothers folks is beyond me. Keep Rocking Dr. Chris!

    Oh now my panties are all in a bunch since you cut those caps! ;)
    Just reach out to Edu Arana and tell him what you want. He will put it on his schedule to build I am sure. He does make a great VGA adapter - much better than my two Commodore ones.

    Was it me or did the output seem brighter before the recap than it was after? Trick of the light? Setting a miss?

    • @ChrisEdwardsRestoration

      I had the light on and my monitor takes a bit to warm up
      And get bright

    It seems odd that people would get bent about cutting trash capacitors. Hell is hot air or using an iron to remove them. I personally find cutting them satisfying lol

      @Typewriter71 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, its strange folks get so uptight about it - and broadcast their 'uptightness'. That's the Amiga Community I guess. I've done about 4 amiga's now without even the slightest trouble.

      Yeah but when you do it for the first time, twisting and other movements can occur and if pads are weak, you pull them with parts of the trace attached to them.
      When done right this method is perfectly fine.
      But I prefer the hot tweezer approach in my case, just because it is way more faster: pinch-remove, pinch-remove. 😉

      @@Zebpro As long as the solder sitll melts that's fine. When it has corroded to a concrete-like powder mess that does not melt.. heat is no help really.

    • @Zebpro
      @Zebpro ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@benbaselet2026 Just put some good flux on both pads before and everything goes fine. 😊

      I have seen it on TH-cam within the last couple weeks. Someone claiming they “would NEVER” cut a cap, and then blasts the entire board with a hot air gun.

    Would you be willing to work on a potentially historically significant A3000? It has not been turned on since CBM went under.
