Good reminder: exercises matter. My warm up, of late, has been all scales and arpeggios. Thanks, too, for "Panhandle Rag." I've heard of it for years, but never had a go at it. Might be a new favorite.
Great lesson Mike. I was thinking about triplets when I was watching and you mention that constant 8th note right hand is not to be used during jigs .. but what about reels or solos that contain triplets? thanks
Hi Chris. For jigs the exercise would become DUD DUD DUD DUD no matter what the melody is. Triplets are different every single time you play them, so you wouldn't really have this exercise with any form of triplet....pick a tune without triplets :) Cheers! Mike

Love the way you teach
Just to be 100% clear : I love a good nerdy exercise.
Exactly what I needed too!
Great to hear!
Another great lesson, Mike. I always look forward to your content! Thanks! 👍
Glad to hear it!

Thanks Mando Mike!
Thanks!
Quavers suits us in NZ.
Me too! But unfortunately most people I come across speak in 8th notes and I have bowed to popular convention
I found it useful to look at the normal music while Mike played the 8th notes.
