    I’ve literally just painted what is probably my best mini ever, it took like 5hrs, my previous best took like 60hrs and half my army paint jobs took at least 10hrs per squad if not closer to 20hrs.
    My mind was blown when I stopped and actually noticed that. Still has me kinda puzzled but oh well, I’ll take the win I guess 😂
    You’re absolutely right and this video will help so many people with this.
    Great work as always 😁❤️👍🏼

    Budgie = Budgerigar, small australian bird, you look like you're smuggling a budgie in your swimmers = Budgie Smugglers

    • @rallyfeind
      @rallyfeind 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Budgie is a type of parakeet. You aren't wrong but the use of Bidgerigar is a wiki entry no one talks about. I have had bird people around me my whole life and heard the proper name used once by people that are fanatics about all types of birds and parakeets.

      @@rallyfeind Are you American? If you are, its probably because Parakeet is the US name for the bird.

    • @rallyfeind
      @rallyfeind 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jamblpaints8453 No they are referred to as Budgies but are known to be part of the greater groupings. Many in the US are not acutely aware but many in the keeping are quick to point the differences and several will have lorikeet in their expanse of knowledge also. But use is so uncommon for anything but offical use even in bird care websites from both mentioned countries. Just saying the average person on the street is more likely to use the common expression. I knew I should have just said "thanks for the taxonomy lesson professor" and moved on with the sarcasm as the point more than how this obviously landed.
      Sorry that crossed a reply partially to not you also please don't take it as such intentionally. I have cross replied apparently upon hitting send and releasing the arrow already so this is my dual correction.

    Been binging painting videos for a few weeks while saving up for paints. Best advice I've heard dealt with choosing one or two aspects to focus on, and the rest can be a simpler paint job.
    It helped me reorganize my plans for painting, and cut down on the ridiculous number of paints I was planning on getting.

Get out of the GW cult of gaming and step into the WORLD of tabletop gaming and there's plenty out there. Burrows and Badgers comes to mind immediately. "Look at you. Look at all the time you wasted. You painted a small green man....well...at least your happy. I guess."
    Pretty much what I heard for years from family, and people, in general, who don't understand model building or figure painting. Or any form of creativity. 😔
    They always see it as a waste of time better spent elsewhere. Often "elsewhere" that will make money, not enjoyment. 😏
    I haven't been able to build models (my form of creativity) for nearly 2 years due to a temporary living situation. But watching you paint and create is a nice way for me to escape for a bit.

    I just recently had a "serious" chat with a fellow painter with me discussing the mentality of speed painting (with a purpose).
    When I fully decided that I'm painting for enjoyment, that's when I had more more fun painting. It's very liberating. On average, I can paint a 28-32mm to a decent quality within an hour. That gives me more time to do other stuff (i.e. work, chores, family time, gaming).

    budgie is a colloquial name for the common budgerigar, a small australian grasslands parrot which is most commonly known to americans as a parakeet. They make very good pets!

      I knew it was a nickname for a parakeet, didn't know it came from "budgerigar"! TIL! :D

      @@dotdotdotPaul All budgies are parakeets, but not all parakeets are budgies. Parakeet refers to a whole category of birds that includes cockatiels and many other types of small, long tailed parrot also (0v0)

    Thanks for this. I much prefer the mindset of painting for me rather than some award that is out of my reach. It’s a hobby that should be about self-improvement and enjoyment and this really comes across in your video.

    I've always painted slow and horribly, watching your vids gives me so much hope I'll get better.

    As an Australian, I can tell you that a budgie is short for budgerigar, which is a small bird. They're often kept as pets here.
