Amazingly I was able to drive my dream car, 1983 Countach in late October. The owner was so nice. I drove it exactly 2 miles and it was the best 2 miles of my life. The clutch has so much personality. You have to push it all the way "through" the floor to engage a gear, however, the clutch only grabs at the very top. This makes driving this car challenging yet fun. I wish I had more time in one to get good at it. I bought a pair of wrestling shoes to wear in case the opportunity ever comes up again because normal shoes won't work.
My seatbelt did that too. easy fix... Dirt builds up overtime inside the retractor. take off the plastic cover, spray out good with keyboard air.... then clean it all out with Wd40... Mine works good as new now.
When i was 8 years old, I was able to sit in one of these cars. The car was at an audio dealer in my home town, to promote Alpine's car audio equipment of the era. It was an awesome experience.
Simply fantastic. You opted to ride without shoes: an excellent thing, from the point of view of the sensitivity of your pedals. And probably, there is more room for the length of your legs. People may frown upon driving without shoes or barefoot, but I think that especially for a manual, or for cars with narrowly shaped pedals, it is best, to avoid getting the shoes stuck between the accelerator pedal and brake. And it is also essential to perfectly feel the release of the clutch.
watching this video made me go to the garage and sit in my Ferrari 348. Yes, I could have 6 of them for the price of a Countach, but it still provides all the same visceral-ness: the smells, the sounds, the tightness, the go-cart feels, the necks snapping to look, the kids in Asian cars getting zippy with me on the highway, the pictures at the gas station, the maintenance....all of the fun! I can't wait to have a Countach one day too! 😃
Thanks for letting us ride along with you! The Countach is my all time favorite car to look at. I love the LP400 low body cars with the bravo wheels. Stunning even today! :)
I fully agree with 99% i have a Countach (25th) and Diablo VT Roadster...the Countach is an experience every time you take it out especially with people staying next to you to film, wave or shout etc it can put you in some dicey situations as your stuck in your lane
I remember when I was a kid and this car was candy to look at. This is probably the closest I've ever come to seeing the inside. I've never seen one in real life. Great supercar in the 80's but cars have advanced so much now I would hands down go for a modern one than this one. I'm that kind of person though. Maybe it has to do with I've never got the experience to drive those cars that were around before modern technology came out. Cars have advanced so much since the 80's.
It’s automotive design aspiration and art on wheels. Like the most interesting people it’s eccentric and flawed but you would not want to spend you time and effort on other people once you are in there company . Its a lifestyle choice that will never disappoint. I love you car man 🕺🏻🙏🏼💨💨💨💨💨💨
Remember seeing one with a friend that was looking to buy one in a Shady garage in NYC. It was black no clean title but I think it was 40k miles and the guy was asking $45k, this was a little over a decade ago but now these cars blew up in price. Still think about that car till this day as the one that got away.
@@MarksHouseofCars-js4vo because I don't think that is a real Lamborghini, don't get me wrong the car is bad ass I just don't think you would drive a 500k car around like you did in this video, I think it's a replica
I wouldn't wanna be a tall guy trying to drive that car. It's almost like the Countach was built specifically for a couple of hot chicks like Adrienne Barbeau and Tara Buckman to only drive it.
Great ride along and thank you for taking the time to demonstrate the strengths and issues with your Countach. I enjoyed the entire program🙏
Glad you enjoyed it!

That's awesome, but that clutch may have been a little worn out.

Hey, there's nothing weird about sitting in your cars in the winter for the smell. It just means you're a bona fide car nut. We all do it. 😁
Very true!

Exactly!
There is no option there 😂. Anything over a 10 shoe size simply doesn’t fit between the pedals.

I remember as a kid having a radio shack radio controlled car. I still love the Countach
I had a lot of different countach toys

The lack of glossy tyre shine on this beast is triggering my OCD's!
Nice perspective- thanks for sharing!
