So true. I love how he breaks down each industry. Tells people what margins should be and how to get there etc. Many people are good at growing revenue just not good at actually making a profit, net income etc. Invested in a company last month that did 13 million in sales ,68 percent margins and still was losing money. I looked at their financials I was like easy fix this is the issue. Why so many reach out to Marcus.
Marcus has an ability to hear where someone is and then point them in a direction that can help them grow. His focus on owners knowing financial details has me realizing a weakness I need to improve. I want to take a Marcus Lemonis business course but until he comes up with one his show and these videos are gold.
Amazing second group - I am real big on training and my philosophy is that you are either going to be the entrepreneur or you are going to be the employee of a business you started. As good as the owner is doing, he is positioning himself to be a long-term employee and remain tied to his business. To pursue growth yet provided minimal training is a long-term way to work against your strategic goals and aims.
Camping world stinks … corporate office could care less if your brand new heartland mallard camper looses a wheel and axel on our first vacation… it took four months to get it repaired
I think it's pretty sad to judge a business owner on accusation alone. Being that this information is coming from your husband, I'm assuming there's another part of the story you probably weren't provided. As a business owner myself, we tend to get dragged in the mud due to someone else's actions or slandering. Marcus Lemonis is probably the MOST genuine millionaire I've seen in a long time. That said, I can only base my opinion on my personal due diligence and knowledge. Nevertheless it's not fair to use prejudice on someone you've never had dealings with personally. Just saying!
Christian Milano yeah he is a great guy. My husband met him and said the same as you. Camping world treated it's employees great. But how it was run was another thing....I don't see that business staying open much longer if it keeps on. Employees quit left and right. Almost every customer was upset who brought in their RV to get fixed and couldn't get it back until months later. The structure wasn't there that needed to be. So there is no other part of the story that I'm not hearing?
It was really unsettling that Matthew (CFO of the Indian/Southern restaurant ) hesitated and did not have solid responses relating to Marcus' financial questions about the business. For the owner's sake, I hope his lack of knowledge of the company's finances was due to him being nervous and not based on inattention to financial details.
+Joe Harry I agree with you. Lack of knowledge with their own business. A change of too many nice ppl in that business would be a good thing. The owner has no clue what the numbers are and for all she knows, and could be possible with a $10,000 profit in the end... they could be taking cash out of the til for themselves. An awful low profit.
