Nice, clean job on the recap 👍 Good for another few decades at least!

I would recommend getting some dental pick cleaning tools as that would allow you to get under the locker tab for the ribbon cable very easily.

    Nice video as always! 🙂
I have read many times that it is a very good idea to power on electronic stuffs with caps in them from time to time, maybe one time every year for 30 minutes at least, instead of leaving them on a shelf for ever.
I'm not a specialist but that is what I try to do and many very old console or computer I own still work without issues with original caps.
But I also know that I will have to replace them because they just go bad regardless of this so called life maintenance. 😀

Thank you for the video, very nice. Want to say thank you to Retro Bench, never once heard of them but including a print out is amazing service.

Having struggled with the CD drive cable myself I have to confess I am considering making the hole in the shield bigger next time I open it up to make access easier!!

Well, I had her open and had to get the snips onto the shield to fit an Indivision MK3 - so I made the hole around the connector bigger too - made a world of difference - and Im not married to those shields as a rule - so no real loss of sleep cutting it.

electrolytic capacitors can get a lot of operational life if you buy higher temp rated units. 105C rated units can easily see 165000 hours @ 55C.

I have two of these TF cards for my CD32, when using either one, it makes using CD drive mostly useless. Meaning too many cd32 games won't actually work properly anymore. Games freeze or controller won't work (like game "Alfred Chicken"). Would really be interesting to know if this is common problem or just mine.

The TF330 has a disable jumper. Have you tried using that when playing CD games? If not I'd give that a try. If it works you can add a switch.

I hate to think what state my CD32 is on the inside. It's never been serviced. On the other hand, I've not plugged it in for over 20 years.

luckily these don't have battery to go bad but I would defiantly suggest having it recapped.

@@32Bits I have no intention of using it, so it would be a waste of money and I can't be bothered.
