I've actually met Alana and her whole family, and I just wanna say they are some of the sweetest most down to earth people I have ever met, so don't judge them if you haven't met them

This is so uncomfortable to watch...
This is the first child I've seen on a live TV show interview that didn't know how to behave when others were talking. I've seen the baby who cried to her mother's singing on Ellen, and the six-month old was much more well behaved than Alana. That's the issue I've seem to see with little pageant girls, they don't seem to know how to be in a situation where the attention is not focused on them. Like another user has already said, it's not Alana's fault, it's her mother's.
Definitely her mother’s fault. I remember watching this show, and all of her kids were out of control because they’ve never been disciplined! Then she would complain about how wild her kids were 🤦♀️
I think it's very rude and mean when people say such horrible things about this little girl. It's not her fault! It's her parent's fault!
When I was a 7 year old child and my Mom or Dad were speaking to someone I did not sit beside them squirming and making noises, interrupting and contradicting. If asked a question, I answered as appropriately as I could. Why? Because my PARENT'S taught me how to behave properly. My PARENT'S didn't let me have sugary, caffeine filled drinks.
A CHILD does not deserve to be ridiculed for her behavior or looks!

This little girl has no boundaries set for her, so the continual interrupting, showing off and shouting gets her attention, the public laugh, mostly out of embarrassment I'd hope and this affirmation reinforces her bad behavior..... the mother obviously loves her but she has no control over her, and the TV company sits back rubbing its hands together as they exploit this family, and watch the cash roll in.

I also agree with you. It's everyone who surrounds her. It's also very worrying, that all of the exploitation and attention will give her a vastly over inflated sense of entitlement, self worth, etc. Or, it could possibly go towards the opposite side of the spectrum. Towards incredobly low senses of self value. Allowing her to be easily manipulated, and further exploited once she gets older. One thing is quite clear, as you said. It all really comes back to her raising. Or complete lack thereof:/

It's sad that everyone in the comments is talking about how the child has "no manners" and "doesn't know how to behave". For me it's so obvious that this child does not want to be in this situation, she is uninterested and is clearly waiting for it to be over. As a child, all your decisions are made FOR YOU by an adult. I strongly doubt the child ASKED for a T.V show or any sort of fame. The amount of pressure that is being placed on this child is ridiculous. Pressure should instead be put on adults to give their children normal, healthy, supported childhoods.

Angel Yotov I'm sure they do plenty of other things, but this a REALITY SHOW and it is the PRODUCERS who decide what to put according to what they consider would be the most entertaining. They must be doing the right thing because the show has been a real success. If people didn't enjoy it then it wouldn't last 2 episodes.
My family loves me but I know the boundaries between right and wrong and I am still considerate of other people.
I'm kind of worried about that kid. She seems a bit... high. I interact with a lot of kids her age and younger. They don't tend to act like that. Hope she's alright.

Come on, their family is wonderful and filled with love, happiness, and trust. They talk to each other about how they feel, they communicate, they don't hold grudges and hate each other, and they're not jealous and spiteful at all of each other. They are a healthy, happy family and I would give my left arm to have family that loves me like that. When someone is in the hospital, they all go and visit, and call and whatnot. When someone is depressed, they all go out of their way to go have some outdoor fun together to cheer each other up. So all y'all jealous people, piss off.

but I love the family; people need to stop saying they "lost faith in humanity" after watching the show. How are they a depiction of a demoralized family when it's so obvious that they love each other and do good like give to charity and just have fun every second of their lives? People criticize without even knowing them; those are the ones who need to change, not this family.

I don't think Alana is stupid at all. She's been rewarded for that kind of behavior all her life, so it's hard for her to understand when it's too much. I've heard the family still gets counseling, and they are going to need it. Sad to see how it all turned out. I hope the girls can grow up and live somewhat normal lifes.
She may not be the best parent, but she loves and cares for her children, which is more than can be said for a lot of parents.

Lots of people don't like Alana and her family because they're poor and live in a way we don't find pleasing or acceptable, but, they are happy and they love each other and I genuinely believe that if more mothers raised their daughters in the way June does, teaching them to celebrate their differences and love their bodies, there would be less girls who look in the mirror everyday and hate what they see.

I agree with you that he's wrong, and alana should certainly not be beat. But her mother isn't attention seeking, she accepted an offer to have a tv show that helped them be able to not worry about putting their kids through college. Mama June is generous, grounded, smart, loving and caring.

Alana, unlike other pageant kids is actually a normal kid, she has fun, shes not as much as a brat as those other kids, she has some outrageous things about her but they aren't negative. Like her pets.

She may have a disorder, but I think it also has a lot to do with the fact that she hasn't been taught to focus. She isn't disciplined at all. Her mother allows her to do whatever. She's ON TV!! Yet she's allowed to rudely chew whatever she's chewing, interrupt people when they're talking, make obnoxious noises while there's a conversation going on, and she's not even wearing any shoes! I'd be interested to see if she still appeared to have a disorder after even a few months of consistent, quality discipline with someone who teaches her how to behave properly.
