They should take this easy. They are gonna suffer some serious ostheoathritis and other injuries later in life. I met this uechi ryu master who can barely hold a pen and chopstick because his fingers were too stiff from all the hand conditioning. Pretty terrifying.
Bruce Lee never pounded a nail "with his temple for gods sake" into planks and then pounded his forehead through the planks. I would not want to get into a punch-out with that Kyokushin Black Belt. He "would hit back...and hard!" some people you just don't mess with or belittle with wisecracks like "boards don't hit back." Granted, there are a lot of dudes out there who can do some wild breaks but you never see them fight...still, some ace breakers can beat on you like a drum on the beach.
I have my own saying "True Boards dont hit back but so does the loser on the receiving end with the broken ribs he wont hit back and if he does id be amazed"
When people say boards don't hit back I usually respond with neither do heavy bags but heavy bags are a good way to improve punching power just like boards are a good way to teach you to commit through with a strike
