- I was always concerned about DPF auto regeneration because I was not sure when and how it will occur and how can it be solved. We have read the manual but practical is more valuable and satidfying.
Lets see the Auto regeneration process happening for the first time.

Finally brother nice to see you on a road trip. All the best. Regarding the dpf, I guess there is a lot of confusion as some cars need ad blue fluid and smaller engine cars do not need it. But AFIK both types need to go through this regeneration process which is very cumbersome especially in a city like Bangalore. This is one of the reason I am still holding on and not buying harrier just now. I have came across, that in Toyota Innova they have a button to use for regeneration process and all you have to do is stop the car and switch on the button and wait for 15 minutes. I guess atleast this make a bit more sense than having to drive at a specific speed for 15 minutes. Anyways hopefully we will have enough feedback on this very soon from other fellow users. Yep engines 1500 cc above need ad Blue and you are correct both need regeneration.

I have a bs6 diesel nexon and I only got the dpf indication around 200 km and now my car has run 1800 km still haven't got the warning light.
1. I have learnt Even if your doing city driving. every now and then put it into sports and have some fun . This will cause the engine to heat up faster and there will be no dpf problems.
2. Do not keep switching off the vehicle in signals to save fuel . This will easily cause dpf clogging.
3. If you live in a huge city and taking the car for the highway it self takes you more than an hour . Then the best solution is to take it for a spin in sports after 10 pm . Then you dont have to get on the highway just 30 minutes of fun traffic less drive is more than Enough.
How frequent i have to take it on highway?my run is around 25km up down daily for office commute.

I would differ. India has mandated BS6 fuel for all pumps now and you won't find BS4 diesel unless you are in some very interior areas.
Now regarding DPF, there are two processes.
1. Passive regeneration: when you are driving in day to day, the car itself tries to clean dpf using the heat generated. However, if you are makin too many short trips, the require engine temperature is not reached or the process is interrupted.
2. Active regeneration- when passive regeneration is interrupted and it is unable to complete, the vehicle enters active regeneration mode, wherein you need to drive at certain revs for some amount of time to clean dpf. The one you showed is active regeneration.
Now if passive regeneration is incomplete, the active regeneration sign comes every 400 to 500 km. So what he faced is completely normal. Repeated short trips and start and stop traffic in Mumbai, that's the reason. In your case, the car could complete the passive regeneration process and that's why you didn't get the sign earlier.

Hey, great vlogs. can you make a detailed video on the Fog lamp connection? How it was connected and will it void warranty. Your video on it was till the wire gets near battery and not after that. Also does it stays ON always when you switch ON headlight

IF you install them tell the technician to take the connection from the Fuse Box. warranty is void if you cut or peel the wire.

To the uploader regarding the later part of this video:
As of now, there is no BS4 fuel anywhere. All oil companies ensured that BS6 fuel is available at every outlet from 1st April 2020 onwards. Which meant refineries were pumping BS6 fuel from Feb 2020 itself. Dhoondhne se bhi kahin nahi milega BS4 petrol/diesel. So the frequent DPF light on AMT diesel Nexons is not because of the fuel.

I get daily 10-15 calls from the people who are willing to buy Diesel but they are waiting as BS6 diesel is not available in their area. I was shocked to know it. I know you will be shocked too.
BS6 fuel deadline availability dates were on papers only.
Until May end I kept on calling few fuel station in my area to know if they have BS6 diesel available but they said its not available as of now, so I used to go to Delhi to fill BS6 diesel.
@@RidiculouslyAmazing I work in an oil company. We upgraded all refineries way back and started pumping BS6 fuel in our pipelines much before the government deadline. Gradually all the existing BS4 stock at oil storage terminals & depots, being mixed with new BS6 fuel coming from the refinery through pipelines slowly transformed into BS6. Similar process was used for all petrol pumps.
Upgrading all available fuel in circulation pan-India at customer endpoint from BS4 to BS6 wasn't something that could have been done in a week or two. We were at it since months.
And there were so many petrol pumps where the customer was getting BS6 fuel back since March or even since Jan/Feb (depending on sales - more sales meant more fresh stock from the terminal/depot). The people wouldn't have known unless they tested a sample in a lab.
Today in July.....there isn't any BS4 fuel available anywhere (unless someone has specifically stored BS4 someplace). The refineries just don't produce BS4 fuel.
So when someone claims today that they still haven't got BS6 fuel, stay away from such people. Because if someone can claim such a baseless lie, God knows whether they are actually ignorant, or outright stupid. Who knows what else they may be misguided about, and confidently misguiding others as well. Flat Earth?
Bs6 diesel 2022 nexon model here, 31000 ,km running. No DPF issue nothing till now.

What if sensor fails and it failed to signal you about clogging filter for example if there is no Light of clogging on display panel and your filter got choked then what will happen?
Your concern is right ... I faced DPF auto generation once at 1200 and I have driven 8500 till now and no sign of it till now
@@RidiculouslyAmazing Sir is it possible to regenerate DPF by standing idle while increasing RPM by pushing accelerator for some time.
The engine power loss will happen and you would know. The car will become laggy.

Thr issue comes in Nexon diesel very frequently . It is frustrating and even driving on a highway at low speed and gear , the issue does not go. What if traveling in a remote location and the issue comes . There is no service centre to resolve the issue . Incase there is service centre , need to keep the car which is not possible .
Believe parts ie convertor used are not good in quality ..

I'm really interested in buying a diesel car but this DPF and BS6 fuel and coolant fluid(not sure) is making tough to decide and looks like petrol is better option than going through these head aches
If these are the only things which is stopping you to take the Diesel then you may get carefree. I have got DPF regeneration at 1200 and I have driven 14k no DPF again

11,000 kms, 95% highway and no dpf issue till date.
My observations are driving car in proper gear, don't lug the car (hard acceleration in higher gears without downshift) which would emit unburned fuel into exhaust which causes this specific problem.
Yupp bs6 diesal fuel is imp but in petrol bs4 is fine for bs6 cars

Hi Both, whenever the DPF light flashes, no need to worry. Just run the vehicle for around 30-60 mins at a speed above 60km/h, this will clean the filter. Also, as soon as the dpf light flashes, the mode selector gets disabled as the car auto sets the mode to run at high rpm for filter cleaning. Once the cleaning is done the light will stop blinking and will remain stable and after a while it disappears, indicating process completion. After that just switch off and switch on the car, everything is back to normal; even the modes

If dpf sign come in hills then how will you regenerate it. Cz u cannot drive in 3rd gear in 60km constant speed in hills
You are right.
3rd gear at 60 is the standard procedure to burn waste faster but principally, while driving if you reach required temperature, it will burn for sure that is why I have not faced any pdf issue after 12k, I have driven 37k
One ling drive every 3-4 month, and occasionally taking your car out on a little open area should be good to burn waste
All that's left are alloywheels and standard size tyres for your nexon.
I am guessing that you will make me buy it for sure :)

Really this is hectic. Wanted to buy Nexon diesel but it seems a problem if every 1k km required regeneration.
My mostly running is in city but don't want to go with petrol due to 8-10 Km/l in city
I think Ford And Hyundai diesel engine are with SCR technology which doesn't create this problem.
Tata has EGR technology with its diesel engine.
What is SCR stands for?

Every BS6 diesel engine has DPF. DPF is not same as SCR. Some cars have SCR while some use LNT along with DPF.

What if we drive at second gear above 2000 rpm for 15 min.
Ideal is the 3rd gear, 2k rpm, 60 speed. It regenerates in other gears too but not that effective, takes long time.
In June, I was in Adi Kailash, got dpf sign but hilly roads were not suitable for ideal regeneration so I mixed with 2nd gear 2k rom and whenever possible ideal regeneration, it took me more thsn 3 hours to clean
Jab car kam chalni ho, almost month mein ek long trip like 1000km nearby kerni ho aur family ke sath kabhi kahar long trip per jana ho, Within it car ko 15years tak rakhna ho to aap kaun se fuel wali car suggest karoge between Petrol and Diesel.
Kyunki current scenario ke hisab se petrol & diesel cost is similar and diesel maintenance is also more expensive than petrol then.
I will suggest Petrol Brother Lakin remember ki Diesel ki performace aachi hai petrol se. Diesel car is only for enthusiast and who travel very frequently.
For long life purpose which one would be perfect.
For long life both are good. But diesel may get registered for 10 years in many places, do take that in to consideration

Hi, thanks for the video. I am owning XMA diesel. Till now I have done 11000kms, 90% of this is highway drives as I will be frequently visiting my farm. I got this dpf alarm for the first time when the odo was 10500kms. I wasn't aware of this method and got the fault cleared at SC, but it repeated after 200kms once again. But worried of this issue if it still prevails in future. Do we need to use any additives for this?

Thanks for proper explaination. however i faced a different issue, i used to get the regeneration issue quite frequently. even in intervals of 100kms. everytime the renegration light blinks i used to manual shift in 3rd gear(AMT) and drive for 15-20 mins and i would get the check engine light along with it too.
every time i took it to service center, they would regenerate and reset the software update ECU, etc.. this time they updated the software again and it fucked up the fuel injector after driving 120kms. I could hear loud tractor like sounds in engine and fumes coming out.
The vehicle is in service center and they are rectyfing the issue. I dont know whats going on.. but i am pretty sure the DPF signal should not come in every 100kms or so. Faulty software? mechanics? nobody knows.
I am facing same issue in diesel AMT. Both check engine light and dpf signs are coming and staying until regeneration is done in service center. Irritating experience every 100 kms. Once it came after driving 1500 kms in highway. Issue with TATA.
@@pravat13panda am selling off my 1.9 yr old venue bs6 diesel for this reason. Pain in the ass bs6 diesel engines. Nothing works tbh. I tried almost everything, all research.no use, just waste of time and energy.

@@RidiculouslyAmazing sir I am about to get delivery of my Nexon AMT diesel and this whole process apart from park regeneration of running at 3000 rpm in 3rd gear is really difficult cos even in manual mode in automatic car they downshift in their own .
I ditched petrol version at last moment and now going for diesel keeping two things in mind first the running second is the lag we feel in petrol in amt version of Nexon .
I am really skeptical about it .

How can we identify BS-4 and BS-6 fuel pumps? Is there any specific signboard at fuel pump or something else.
We cannot expect fuel pump staff to tell the fact only to lose a customer.

my Nexon BS6 XMA diesel is just 2 months old . My daily running is 150 KM and total distance travelled in these 2 months is 6300KM. During the last 12 days my DPF filter got clogged thrice. I visited the service center and got regeneration done. But same problem arising after 3 to 4 days.
Please suggest what to do .
I heard same feedback from few more in Nexon Diesel AMT. I got 1st regeneration at 1200 and I have driven 13k till now and no another regeneration till now.

Oil change in First service is rarely done, Only top up is done if required. Stick to your service schedule to avoid warranty damage

I own a Nexon xz+s Diesel BS6 mera 1200+ kms ho gya.. (mera ride only hills pe hai) abi taq mera DPF ka sign nahi aya hai gaari pe..why is that???
Because on hills our car runs mostly on 3rd and 4th gear (mostly on 3rd) and it cleans the DPF automatically.
And if you run your car in a daily basis for long runs (10-20 KM on hills), DFP sign may show late or never as cleaning process is done automatically.
After 1200 km, DPF did not happen iny car again and I have done almost 12k

Back sensor ka issue think nahi hua hai. Lakin bahut frequent nahi hai... Month me ek do baar aa jata hai. Service center ne bola tha ki agar issue dubara aaye to they will make some ring adjustment

Brother, I get a lot of call from people who want to buy diesel and they complain that BS6 Diesel not available in their area. Metro cities its available but small cities, its still not available.

It was official from April 1st but till May end it was not available in a lot of places in NCR, sad :(

Hi bro, I also have Nexon XMS and right now it has ran 6500 but i haven't got it yet. Not sure why.
Its good. Petrol nexon needs to be driven below 2k rpm for mileage and Diesel nexon needs to be driven above 3k rpm once in a while for preventing DPF issues becoz mileage is not a problem in Diesel.
Sir mai Nexon lene ka plana kar raha hu but bs6 disel engine se dara hua hu , log kahte hai ki maintenance bahut hai , disel love to bahut kharcha lagega . Aur sir meri running 1000 km /month rahegi , to mai kya choos karu aur kyu.?

Nexon for Diesel.. brezza only avl.in petrol.
Nexon for both petrol and diesel
Both are good but personally I like the safety features and look of Nexon more, Breeza is a good option too. I have Breeza Diesel at home town and its fantastic.
Try and give a little preference to Nexon because of its build quality and safety features.
Take test drive of both and choose one of them. All the best!!

I am getting same dpf issue since last month and even after changing injectors. Very disappointed with tata service center. They are unable to find the issue. Anyone getting same issue?
