"Now your whole life comparing prices of tomatoes will not be equivalent to one quick decision about 5000 dollars for getting Italian granite or something" - genius! Thanks for the lecture, super interesting topic.

Thank you for you lecture! Late at night I can't go sleep before finishing it. You told about widely known things, but when it is foramlized, people can understand it deeper and with right accents. And your personal manner of speaking is another thing that catch me up! Thanks Again!
ps. moral tax - to memories! GREAT!

This is explained by proper etiquette and showing class in relationships.

Cars are easy to get dirty especially cloth seats. The $2k got leather is easily rationalized because it is easy to clean, looks newer for years longer, has a nicer higher quality aesthetic appearance, I would be driving guests in it from time time which means judgement from others , and it is expected to possibly last more than 10 years.
No one else will be using my leather chair , and even if I wanted to make an impression on people coming to my office , they are easily available for $100-$200 in the market place. I can dispose of one every few years and not care as much. I also don’t plan to have the issue of having to clean mud or crumbs or spills off the chair, as I might in car seats.
That easily rationalizes the difference in why I would spend $2k more in the car - even if the car was only $5k and it was $2 k to possibly upgrade it, as compared to an office leather chair that i might be spending more time in.

8:13 basically why fraud is ruling it and hard working game developers can't make a damn single dime out of their work. Very corrupt!

    Note:
    - Social norm >< Financial norm
    - Rather "free" > pay little money
    - Paying for other people: best (reduce the pain of paying once)
    - Opportunities cost: Relativity (a+n < A+n)

Why don't the friends each pay for their own bill? My late father used to say: Des bons comptes font des bons amis!
If it's a couple, then they could alternate paying the bill at different times.

Leasing women does seem much more rational than the alternatives.

The gap between low cost and free was in your books, dear Doctor!
It was a my handbook for years.
Now here is the perfect example: the fate of #Evernotes
They had a tremendous losses of customers than they starts charging people.
It was "for Free" but now it costs.. I've just deleted this app.
So true for the "Offices app" PolarisOffice WPS-Office etc"
They was free instead of "MicrosoftOffice" and it was great.
Now they apply paying subscription, and it changes the rules dramatically.
They now in the competitive ground with Microsoft, and sure, they just can't provide enough value for the real competition.
    It was long. Sorry.
With all respect and everlasting love.

11.30 wouldn't this only work if you consistently have meals with the same number of people at the same time EVERY TIME.... like parents, siblings, spouse

lol, i have to agree, in the UK the government is so broke even a light bulb is a saving. (broke because all our money is offshore). (edit) the government is broke but the MP's have all that money offshore.

@11:30 I feel like an easier solution is to just rewire your emotional software to not be so irrationally upset about spending money

you insult them when all they wanted to do was a kind act. I would have agreed to help and when you tried to hand me the $3.00, I would have then refused the money.
