Hill then throws a straight punch (which again I would think, this indicates that jamahall was aware the fight was continuing) Periera then counters & puts him to sleep, there's literally 0 controversy
Counter Argument. 1. Herb didn't restart the fight properly, hence the reason this its a discussion in the first place. 2.If you watch Luke Thomas's breakdown they hand fight with their lead hands (Similar to a touch of gloves) while also trying to get foot position. When Jamal put his hands out for a touch of gloves Alex took a half step as if they were hand fighting. So jamal saw it as a break in the action but Alex took the opportunity to gain foot position as if they were hand fighting. 3.The straight right comes as a reaction to the pressure and feeling of having your distance compromised. Super common response that even amateurs are told to look out for hen their opponents are on the ropes. Just watched a Cory Sandhagan video explaining this and it's a super common mistake that a lot of fighters do when they feel pressure. I think it was a brilliant win by Alex just shows how technical he is, and how a little lapse in judgment can get you knocked out instantly. I think Herb would be saying he wished he did a better job here too though, and Jamal should of recognised that his distance was compromised earlier, and shouldn't of responded with an off balance right hand. Great win by Alex executed beautifully especially with that parry and slip of the right hand while throwing the left hook, but as a fighter and a fan of the sport a super interesting sequence and i'm happy both sides are being discussed because I noticed the same thing first time I watched it.
@@coffeine1924 you just want to argue bro stop babbling. Your points didn’t even make sense. 1. It was 100% a legitimate call by Herb. This has happened multiple times before where a fighter gets hit by an illegal shot but they just tell the ref it’s fine and they immediately continue fighting after the ref says continue. For example Demetrius Johnson did this in almost the same exact fashion Pereria did it. 2. Not sure if they really gloved touched or not but that doesn’t matter because the ref said continue and Jamahal was still clearly ready to fight, and even if he wasn’t that’s not Pererias fault. I guarantee you if Pereria and Jamahal switched positions Jamahal would be saying “protect yourself at all times bro.” 3. So you just admitted that Jamahal threw a straight right? Events that happened after the lowblow: 1)Herb tells both of them to continue 2)Jamahal and Pereira touch gloves 3)Jamahal takes his fighting stance and continues to move 4)Jamahal throws the FIRST PUNCH. Why do they keep ignoring this?
The whole lead up to this fight I was like.. am i missing something here?? Everybody talking Hill up so much, saying everyone is underestimating him... and Alex completely outclassed him. So no I wasnt missing anything and I still have no idea why people think Hill was ever gonna win. Jiri is better than Hill by far and i dont even like Jiri
Yeah, 43 year old Glover was touching Hill up. Hill was stronger and faster. Then talking about the Johnny Walker KO, when everyone knows Johnny is famously chinny, he has been koed bad even before the UFC. While Hill does some interesting things, he is very unorthodox. He has his legs squared together all the time during fights. He doesn’t have the movement to beat Alex. They were definitely trying to sell the fight
I heard this podcast but didn't see the footage until now.. what is Joe even talking about, they were both fully engaged.. Joe made it sound like he clocked him when he wasn't looking.
People in comments have missed the point 😂 It ain’t that hill weren’t ready, it’s that the ref was where he needed to move to get away from the shot and hill wouldn’t of let alex as close as he did without that little break, as he is aware of Alex’s left hook That being said, it’s a fight and shit like that happens and it is what it is… but still Joe is making a good point
Excuses excuses Jamaal got knocked the f out and there’s nothing here but a LONG reach cuz there was no controversy at all. Protect yourself at all times.
Joe Rogan has already featured Hill on his podcast, he probably has a good relationship with him. The same happened with Izzy, he was clearly rooting for Izzy in his fight against Pereira, they have become friends since he was on his podcast.
One of the dumbest arguments for getting KO I ever heard. Alex had Hill backing up towards the fence setting him up, if anything you can argue the nut shot delay Alex from knocking Hill even faster. Alex never took his eye off the target the reason he didn’t want to pause the action is because he had already made all the necessary reads he needed to land the shot.
because it wasn't as it happened. The fight has to be watch from the beggining because there's alredy edited videos cuting out the touch of gloves. We don´t get why Americans are dcreating this narrative but it stated before the fight when for some reasong they were saying Hill had more power and was a better striker. Doesn 't make any sense.
Another false narrative is jamal was losing focus which is not true he was focused enough to throw a punch but the fact is jamal is a rookie striker compared to real striker that compete at high level boxing, kickboxing or muay Thai
I understand JR's point but I'm with Max on this one. In the same way that AP moves forward, a low blow can be used to reset the distance and JH's job is not to know if AP is okay while relaxing in a fight like this. AP was extremely aggressive and this was an incredible fight and JH was there. The fight is over and JH is going to do what, go to court against the result claiming that AP is a cheater or that HD made a mistake? I think AP stayed in the fight 100% and that's why he won. By the way, did anyone see AP's right hand feint?
That feint, followed by a step on the foot and a shovel hook that was set up by the jabs to the body. Xeque mate Not to mention that Poatan stayed most of the fight on the outside of hill's lead foot... It was bound to happen.
@@bsilva3879 I have to come back here and agree, after the second punch to the body JH seemed to lose confidence in exchanging precision blows, starting to retreat and throw blows in the air.
Hopefully, Joe is just playing the fool for effect, etc In any case, the verdicts are in: 1) This is made-up content from Joe, and 2) There was nothing improper regarding the conduct of the Pereira-Hill fight.....
C'mon, Joe don't manufacture things the fight had restarted clearly. There was no close of distance until acknowledgment by Hill. If Hill is being a b!tch here, it doesn't mean you also have to be one.
WTF! Everything is done within the UFC rules, if there is someone to blame this person is Jamal that touched gloves and relaxed WHILE THE FIGHT was on. He even through a punch (and missed)
This fight exposed how full of shit the UFC media has been acting. The fact that people are making more of a fuss about this moment than Weidman literally blinding a man shows how biased the commentary team has become.
Jamahal would get ko either way it was just a matter of time, elex knew exactly what he was doing, that hand touching during the whole fight was just conditioning jamahal to a familiar movement to get him think everything was under control.
What I don't see people commentating on, is that Alex smashed the record with a right hook not a left hook, so avoid the left hook all you want but then he can still knock you into another dimension with his right hook.
I don't think it is accurate the point, jamall pattern the whole fight was sliding back and close , and pereira identified the pattern. Just watch the whole fight, Jamall was not expecting the punch with the front arm of pereira or at least he did not think a punch with the front was going to be enough to get ko Plus 100 % jamall was scared as it gets.
I agree I think the pause was at a weird enough moment that Alex was able to close the distance a little bit but jamal still shouldn’t be using that as his excuse . Well played by Alex
It did cause a slight disturbance in the fight, it threw Jamal off, I called it right when it happened, jamal threw a punch but he wasn’t as stiff and locked in like Alex was, Alex took advantage and ran up while he was slightly distracted
Very very weak arguments from Joe. Alex "closed the distance" because for him he wouldn't have stopped at all. He gestured to Herb when he realized he was approaching with his peripheral vision and because Jamahal dropped his guard. After resuming, they touched hands and Alex stepped forward again, Jamahal could very well have repositioned, circled out or any other thing to recover his position or focus but he chose to strike and they striked at the same time (Alex was timing the up and down motions of his lead hand)
I looked it again after the fight. Nothing cotroversial about it. 3 solid seconds passed after Pereira pushed Dean's hand before the knockout punch. Hill was slowly retreating and loading his left, right before pereira deliverd the punch. At that time Dean was at least 2 metres, likely 2.5 metres froh Hill, which would have been enough to pull back/ to the side.

Such a dumb argument from JR. Alex came forward a few inches. Fight resumed with footwork and hand fighting. HILL THREW A PUNCH. Stop it.
And Max didnt want to disagree with him, but he rightly pointed out Hill should have been locked in. NO EXCUSES.
Yeah Max was classy in handling this nonsense with JR.
Literally no. Hill was throwing at him immediately after...
the real question is, do we forgive rogan for this crap? come on rogan
Joe has always said dumb shit it’s your job to have your own opinion
I like Joe, but the guy has always said some dumb shit. Especially related to combat sports.
Nah Rogan is dead wrong on this
@@AC-jh3pn Why is he wrong?
@@Rikiko722 because anyone with a brain can think: 1. The action should not be reset, it's up to the FOULED fighter, in that case, Alex. 2. Gloves were touched, if you look at the frame before they touch gloves, neither of them is in jab distance and Alex even hops back. And of course, 3. Pereira was the one that got fouled, If he kept his attention, Jamahal also should've. He didnt, his fault. The fact that you even need to be explained about this is beyond stupid
Joe needs to watch it back. Herb was nowhere close to Hill when the punch connected and Hill threw a punch at the same time.
Rule #1, protect yourself at all times!!! No excuses
They never wanna give Alex credit , adesanya “early stoppage” Jan “robbery” jiri “early stoppage” Jamal “Herb dean got in the way and caused confusion so Alex took advantage”
This is beyond delusional. First of all the shot was to the groin not the hip. Second, Hill was the first to engage after the interruption. On top of all that this happens pretty often in a fight.
It's like the predator and the prey, the judge could do nothing to save Jamal, a fighter must be 100% focused on his opponent, this in any street fight, especially in a championship of maximum level, against top athletes, Jamal slept and paid the price for it, "the wages of sin is death" in a fighting ring there is no place for mistakes, he lost the fight before it even started.
Jamal is a excuse
Protect yourself at all times. Enough said.
IS the age thats turning Rogan in a braindead?
Jamahall threw a punch first and didnt hit. Pereira threw later and sent him to Sweet Dreams.
Literally said its not an excuse and protect yourself all the time
@@mikko3 saying that its not an excuse and literally telling an excuse. Wow
@@kawhileonard9082 You can talk about shit that happened and say its not an excuse. You are slow
Okay lets say a fighter loses because of a mistake, are you now not allowed to talk about the mistake because some slow mf'er like comes yapping about "excuses"? No one is saying Pereira didnt win or doesnt deserve to win
@@kawhileonard9082 Yeah this feels all backhanded in some attempt to undermine Alex's win. Strange
Aging doing mushrooms and LSD's was never a good idea
To be honest, After touching gloves you should be protecting yourself.
All of sudden all these guys are speaking the same thing.
You have also the whole DC brotherhood putting Alex down.
That's something weird.
Let them spew nonsense brother, while AP sleeps fools, the more they discredit his success and skills the more he will prove these biased people wrong.
you people are crazy, joe literally hypes alex in this video. are people not allowed to discuss why knockouts happened anymore?
@@hesserk He hyped before but I don't get why this narrative now. I get it when Sonnen does because he doesn't give a damn for what is true or not and we know it. But Rogan and DC is strange.
@@hesserk because he’s clearly lying Alex closed distance before herb stepped in lol
@@Lil_tro_Vertthen hill shoulda step back or move to his side? Bro there’s no way Hill coulda have not known the distance is closer, shoot (or fake) a take down if he feels the cage is behind him. That way it’ll create distance and will have Alex backing.
It’s MMA not boxing, also had the scenario switch Joe would complain Alex not taking the full timeout to recover/reset.
Events that happened after the lowblow:
1)Herb tells both of them to continue
2)Jamahal and Pereira touch gloves
3)Jamahal takes his fighting stance and continues to move
4)Jamahal throws the FIRST PUNCH.
Why do they keep ignoring this?
They touched gloves 4 times before Alex threw the left hook. Hill threw a straight at the exact same time, this is a pointless comment by Joe
Alex didn’t close distance until after they touched gloves
The whole lead up to this fight I was like.. am i missing something here?? Everybody talking Hill up so much, saying everyone is underestimating him... and Alex completely outclassed him. So no I wasnt missing anything and I still have no idea why people think Hill was ever gonna win. Jiri is better than Hill by far and i dont even like Jiri
100%
My presumption was UFC guys selling the fight as it wasn’t really a headliner worthy of 300.
Jan and Jiri are classes above Hill, isn't even close
So Alex gets hit in the nuts but somehow that distracted Hill??? Wtf hahahaha
Yeah, weird right 😂
I heard this podcast but didn't see the footage until now.. what is Joe even talking about, they were both fully engaged.. Joe made it sound like he clocked him when he wasn't looking.
I was waiting for JR to change his mind when watching the replay because it clearly didn't happen as he was saying.
Joe used to say a bunch of stupid things about other matters has recently changed his view on them
People in comments have missed the point 😂
It ain’t that hill weren’t ready, it’s that the ref was where he needed to move to get away from the shot
and hill wouldn’t of let alex as close as he did without that little break, as he is aware of Alex’s left hook
That being said, it’s a fight and shit like that happens and it is what it is… but still Joe is making a good point
Man..this is so weird! We all saw the video. Why spreading this fake propaganda
They touch gloves for God sakes. This is absurd!
U can’t listen can u
@@DBSIII you can't spell can you?
Interesting to see Joe Rogan intentionally ignores that Hill threw a punch too. Strange!
Hill relaxed for a while = looser, you got k.o
Gotta love Max and his unbiased take on the whole Alex VS Jamahal situation
I dont know why yall cant see that it did happen because of Jamahal losing focus and also that it was completely Jamahal's fault at the same time.
because it wasn't as it happened.
"losing focus" yet they didn't once break eye contact and hill threw the first punch. Don't be delusional
No controversy at all… they both knew the fight has started, they were almost holding hands
Xeque mate
Not to mention that Poatan stayed most of the fight on the outside of hill's lead foot... It was bound to happen.
@@bsilva3879that’s what I’m saying he was literally pressuring him before this Joe even said it in the broadcast
@@bsilva3879 I have to come back here and agree, after the second punch to the body JH seemed to lose confidence in exchanging precision blows, starting to retreat and throw blows in the air.
Yep.. normaly when the fighter have a Power punch he just braw until It hits, but Alex is diferent, he set up his knockouts
Biggest BS of all times. If Hill is saying that he is a bad loser. They touch gloves before the action restarts.
Hopefully, Joe is just playing the fool for effect, etc
In any case, the verdicts are in:
1) This is made-up content from Joe, and
2) There was nothing improper regarding the conduct of the Pereira-Hill fight.....
Pretty sure if jamahal moved to the left herb would’ve moved…
I have lost all respect ...for Joe Rogan because of this video.... Joe Rogain is now a paid for bot being told what to say....
C'mon, Joe don't manufacture things the fight had restarted clearly. There was no close of distance until acknowledgment by Hill. If Hill is being a b!tch here, it doesn't mean you also have to be one.
Why Are People making excuses for him straight up losing..Pathetic
“I’m not making excuses for Jamahal”. So, what are you doing, Joe?
WTF! Everything is done within the UFC rules, if there is someone to blame this person is Jamal that touched gloves and relaxed WHILE THE FIGHT was on. He even through a punch (and missed)
Pereira hold on brother im hunting😂
This fight exposed how full of shit the UFC media has been acting. The fact that people are making more of a fuss about this moment than Weidman literally blinding a man shows how biased the commentary team has become.
Jamahal would get ko either way it was just a matter of time, elex knew exactly what he was doing, that hand touching during the whole fight was just conditioning jamahal to a familiar movement to get him think everything was under control.
Rogan needs return to Rehab, the man is looking bad
Rogan makes a great point
What I don't see people commentating on, is that Alex smashed the record with a right hook not a left hook, so avoid the left hook all you want but then he can still knock you into another dimension with his right hook.
Imagine his right hook is even nastier, but he’s more comfortable throwing the left.
@@bruce4751 maybe he dont want to kill someone 😂

No one says that bcz it’s a during the fight
Or the eye pokes
Couldn't even stick with it lol "the fight has restarted" no shit lol
They literally touched gloves then proceeded to start an exchange but Alex landed first. It’s so obvious no matter what angle you watch it at.
I don't think it is accurate the point, jamall pattern the whole fight was sliding back and close , and pereira identified the pattern.
Just watch the whole fight,
Jamall was not expecting the punch with the front arm of pereira or at least he did not think a punch with the front was going to be enough to get ko
Plus 100 % jamall was scared as it gets.
Put pereira in the octagon with hill again it will be the same result. People can call it a fluke-distraction all they want 😂
I agree I think the pause was at a weird enough moment that Alex was able to close the distance a little bit but jamal still shouldn’t be using that as his excuse . Well played by Alex
I agree that the pause in play did cause Jamal to get KOd… BUT it was all still Jamal’s fault. Pereira took advantage of the mistake
I’m with you on this.
Sure, but that punch was coming regardless
Joes been choked out too many times
It did cause a slight disturbance in the fight, it threw Jamal off, I called it right when it happened, jamal threw a punch but he wasn’t as stiff and locked in like Alex was, Alex took advantage and ran up while he was slightly distracted
Jamal is becoming, lion heart of denial.
What are you talking about? Jamahal has said in an interview that he's own up to the loss.
“Protect yourself at all times” this argument has no legs 🦵
“A Mexican hook” 😭😂😂
As soon as he said kicked in the hip I knew where this was going. 😂
