I'm so happy I watched this live, I try my best to never miss a Holloway fight, definitely my favorite fighter of all time. When he ko'd Ghaethje, I stood up, paced around and yelled "Oh Shit!" for a good 2 to 3 minutes, I felt so bad for Ghaethje but was hella gassed for Holloway #BLESSED
that's exactly how a BMF belt fight should end..15 seconds, stand in the middle and swang and bang...Max was a legend before but this just cements him as one of the greatest fighters of all time..from his run as a champ to this..its wild

Love Max. What a guy. Definitely one you'd answer to if asked who you want in your corner when the Zombies are coming. Let's not forget to spread the love to Justin though. 1st, you need to have another BMF in the other corner to put this win in perspective. Not one who is simply smart enough to know that he is down and needs to do something spectacular so he shifts styles, but a true warrior with huge magazines and is known for winning my slinging everything he has every fight. Technical fights are great, but there is something about fighters who say "fuck blocking," wind up the arms and let 'em fly.

Without Joe being centred arounf the ufc and its rise to the top, it simply wouldn't have the soul and authenticity and character it does. Dont underestimate how important Joe rogan and his passion for the sport has been for the ufc we all love so much
To me I will always say Silva Ko to Griffin is my favourite KO ever. It got me watching UFC religiously every fight night and PPV up to like UFC 220 something all the way from UFC 100. I watched UFC 100 cuz I knew GSP but after 101 Silva became my favourite fighter ever and I even got into BJJ cuz of it

Always liked Max- super great hands. Just an FYI- Justin came out flat. Like, I mean, I knew before he even started something was off. He looked tired and haggard and not peppy or excited at all. I've seen that on fighters before and they never fair well when that happens. Not sure what it was- but my guess was he had a hard time making weight, but he looked uber fucked off when he came out. Still, I agree w/ Joe, at LEAST one of the best KO moments in UFC history, though I still put Leon's above that.

For me a great KO isn’t just about how quick you get it done. Max’s breakdown of JG was undoubtedly a great show. And to have the balls to go toe to toe at the end with nothing to gain was iconic.
I don’t see anything too special about the aljo KO, even by your criteria, it wasn’t even 1st round, and believe it was a TKO anyway 🤷🏻♂️

That fight was leon getting smothered for 3 rounds (he won the first) and most of the 5th until he suddenly got a knockout. The fight was going exactly how everyone expected until the last minute when leon got the head kick ko. A hail Mary knockout to win the fight is different from a knockout from a man who knows he has already won the fight who still chooses to go 50/50 with the hardest puncher in the division above him in the last seconds and STILL gets the knockout. Leon's ko was spectacular, but there are levels
You just made my case for me. It was a Hail Mary knock out with the perfect set up for the world title. Against a dominant champ. Holloway knocked out someone he was beating up the whole fight. Recency bias crazy, in terms of stakes and the moment Leon was clear. People forget Leon knocked out on of the most dominant champs at the time

I could say the same about you and recency bias. I’m not even a Leon fan but to disregard that which was probably the greatest moment in UFC. One was for a world title against a dominant champ one, the other was against a bmf belt. Max knockout was great but the stakes were different for Leon
Given the stakes I'd say mcgregor aldo was alil better. But damn max always delivers an amazing fight and us a true warrior

Jorge and Ben both went on jre and talked shit before their fight if I remember correctly. Ben had a much more intelligent conversation. I thought he was going to rag doll Jorge. I’d say Jorge still holds best KO ever. Nobody gets ran through that quickly at the highest level.

Its NOT THE GREATEST KNOCK OUT or even close.... Justin Gaethje decided to be humble, be for the fans, and die on his sword. When someone that injured decides to let it go with someone in a way better state... they are welcoming a knock out. This alone means it cannot be the greatest KO because for a KO to be great it has to be something the opponent is trying to avoid with all his heart. Holloway was absolutely stunning and Gaethje gave him NOTHING until the last 15 seconds of the fight, Gaethje gifted the KO with his heart and pride. Leons KO is easily greater and I only bring that specific one up because it came to mind first im sure there are others. Leon didnt put up a better performance but the KO was most definitely greater, imo - as are others.

Leon KOing Usman is better BECAUSE: Leon was down that whole fight and then he pulled that headkick off near the end.
Headkicks are also more impressive.
Max's was good, but he was winning that whole fight. And yeah he took a chance of getting knocked out at the end, but those crazy last 10 seconds in a fight he was winning doesn't compare to Leon getting whooped on and then pulling off a more impressive KO.
I can’t agree. Leon HAD to find a KO. Max WANTED to find one, for us all, even though it was borderline suicidal. It was also a gesture of honour, respect and gratitude to his dance partner, also a true BMF. So much more badass and iconic and poetic. A dejected point-fighter style sniper happening to land a headkick at some point just isn’t inspiring to me in the slightest. Meanwhile every second of Max vs Justin was inspiring and the ending was so outrageously perfect that I’d be pissed off if it was the resolution of a Hollywood movie coz I’d say it was too unrealistically satisfying.
