Nice one I new that pump didn't look right it is a 1.3 pump that's why they looked different , just give the tank a good clean out and she will be running as good as new .
Hi there Mate I'm from South Africa I enjoy your Vauxhall content I'm a mk2 owner myself only we call it a Opel Ascona here. Just my two cents Please consider upgrading the front brakes at least to 256mm discs and calipers from cavalier mk3 or Astra mk2 Original braking system are absolutely rubbish. The only thing with the brake upgrade is it will require you to fit 14 inch rims on the car. Love your videos Looking forward to next cavalier video
Great to hear from you. We’re seeing quite a few old cars from South Africa landing in the UK, especially Fords. I haven’t heard much about the Vauxhall/Opel brand there, but it’s good to know there’s at least one still on the road! Some of the mechanics in your country are amazingly resourceful. I’ve got so much admiration for ‘bush mechanics’.
Yeah mine was £34 found its more easy to remove the bottom nut first put my spanner behind the rocker cover found I could get more of a turn on the nut.

Those cavs were so basic and engines especially easy to work on. Although thinking back I did have to replace more stuff than most other brands lol.

Hope so. It’s such a nice to car to drive around in. I may even look at retro-fitting rear seatbelts, so the family can use it.
Fuel pump on this model was a stock fault from what i remember, Often leaked fuel over the engine, not a good combination

Fuel pump just gone on mine am doing it tonight.
I was amazed how cheap and readily available they were.

What was your symptoms? Mine is starting problem and when I floor the accelerator it bogs down and misfires!
I had one of these cars, i hated the thing lol.
