Ca. 20 Km von Kenmare entfernt liegt versteckt in den Bergen der Gleninchaquin Park, ein preisgekrönter Park und Bauernhof in Familienbesitz in der Grafschaft Kerry. Es ist ein langes, schmales Coombe-Tal an der Nordwestseite der Beara Peninsla, das vor etwa 70.000 Jahren durch Vereisung entstanden ist und sich seitdem kaum verändert hat.
In der hinteren Wand des Coombe befindet sich ein spektakulärer Wasserfall, der wiederum die Abfolge von Seen entlang des Talbodens speist: Loughs Inchaquin, Uragh und Cloonee. Weitere Seen, Cummeenaloughaun und Cummeenadillure, befinden sich in kleineren Hängekammern rund um den Wasserfall. Der Lough Napeasta verläuft weiter talwärts. Bewundern Sie die Aussicht auf die Seen, die zarten grünen Wiesen und den spektakulären Wasserfall an der Felswand, die Stärke des Wasserfalls hängt von der Regenmenge der vergangenen Tage ab, im Juni 2019 führten die Zuläufe und der Wasserfall nur wenige Wassermengen, aber immer noch genug, um dieses schöne Naturspektakel genießen zu können.
Der Gleninchaquin Park bietet atemberaubende Landschaften und Landschaften, in denen es eine wahre Freude ist, herumzulaufen. Entdecken Sie Bäche mit Holzbrücken, Bergpfade mit geschnitzten Stufen, Felspassagen, Täler, Seen und Wasserfälle. Tucked away in the mountains about 20km from Kenmare lies Gleninchaquin Park, an award-winning family owned park and farm in County Kerry. It is a long, narrow Coombe valley on the north-west side of the Beara Peninsla, formed by glaciation about 70,000 years ago and has changed little since then.
In the back wall of the Coombe is a spectacular waterfall, which in turn feeds the succession of lakes along the valley floor: Loughs Inchaquin, Uragh and Cloonee. Other lakes, Cummeenaloughaun and Cummeenadillure, are located in smaller hanging chambers around the waterfall. Lough Napeasta runs further down the valley. Admire the view of the lakes, the delicate green meadows and the spectacular waterfall on the rock face. The strength of the waterfall depends on the amount of rainfall of the past days, in June 2019 the inflows and the waterfall only carried a small amount of water, but still enough to enjoy this beautiful natural spectacle.
Gleninchaquin Park offers breathtaking scenery and landscapes where it is a real pleasure to walk around. Discover streams with wooden bridges, mountain trails with carved steps, rocky passages, valleys, lakes and waterfalls. Admire views of lakes, green meadows, spectacular 140-metre waterfall, forests and Kenmare Bay, all framed by the Killarney McGillicuddy Reeks on the horizon.
This idyllic valley is perfect for day trips with the whole family. Some parking facilities are located near the waterfall. The hiking trails around the waterfall, waterfalls, streams, forests and lakes are accessible for all ages. Admission (2019) 6 Euro.
Liebe Angela! Bei unseren beiden Irlandreisen haben wir ja schon einiges gesehen. Wir waren so begeistert wie selten. Darum haben deine Videos, besonders dieses letzte, wieder so etwas wie Heimweh in mir ausgelöst. Du hattest ja das Glück, diese herrliche Landschaft in völliger Ruhe und Einsamkeit zu genießen, ohne auf eine Gruppe und deren Zeitnot Rücksicht nehmen zu müssen. Du, und damit dankenswerterweise wir Zuschauer, konntest ganz entspannt die herrliche Aussicht genießen, lange am Wasserfall verweilen und in Bereiche vordringen, die dem normalen Touristen verborgen bleiben. *_Hallo Lothar, was für ein schöner Kommentar, freue mich sehr, hast du dir viel Mühe gemacht mir :))) Da ihr Irland schon kennt, könnt ihr auch nachvollziehen, wie sehr ich die Landschaften dort lieben gelernt habe, gerade im Juni, wenn dort Frühling ist und alles im satten Grün erscheint. Der Park liegt sehr außerhalb, daher kommen nicht viele Leute dorthin, der Parkplatz vor dem Park ist auch nu sehr klein, vielleicht 10-15 Autos passen dorthin. Die paar Leute verlaufen sich dann schnell im Park, der ist ja sehr weitläufig, von daher kann man wirklich alles in Ruhe und ziemlicher Einsamkeit genießen, zumindest als ich dort war (Vorsaison und wochentags). Ich würde auf jeden Fall noch mal nach Irland wollen, da gäbe es noch so einiges zu erkunden und zu bestaunen. Aber ich bin auch schon gespannt auf eure Erlebnisse in Island, es soll fantastisch sein. Du wirst es uns zeigen.... :))) Danke hier fürs super Feedback, noch einen schönen Sonntag. *_Hallo Frank, danke für's Mitwandern wieder in dieser schönen Gegend. Ich kann den Park nur empfehlen, er liegt recht abseits, eigentlich ziemlich in der Pampa :)) daher ist aber nicht überlaufen (zumindest im Juni war das so), nur ein paar Autos standen davor, die paar Leute verlaufen sich schnell dort in den Bergen. Die Landschaften sind fantastisch, besonders toll fand ich den See im Berg, wo sich die Landschaft spiegelte, auch die kleinen Wasserfälle im Wäldchen. Natürlich das Highlight der 140 m hohe Wasserfall, der aber leider zu dieser Zeit nicht so viel Wasser führte, trotzdem immer wieder erstaunlich, wie viel Kraft Wasser hat. War für mich ein rundum gelungener Tag bei bestem Wetter, was ja für Irland nicht selbstverständlich ist. Danke für's schöne Feedback. *_...I love Ireland too. You have to go to the park, it is a bit difficult to get there because of the narrow farm roads, but it is worth it, it is very remote. But there are not so many people there when I was there, maybe 10 cars. I was in June, a great season for Ireland. In the high season there is probably a little bit more activity, but the few people get 'lost' in the park and you can enjoy nature and solitude :))) All the best wishes for the new year, best regards from Germany, Angela_*

*_Hello Tine, I'm really glad you were there again. The landscapes were really beautiful, I really enjoyed it. The little wood with the little waterfalls is a bit hidden, which I also found particularly beautiful. I also found the small lake in the mountain especially fascinating, where the landscape is reflected in it, it looked even more beautiful in nature than in the video, you couldn't get enough of it :)) And of course the highlight, the 140 m high waterfall, simply fantastic. For me this was again a very successful day in Kerry with best weather, which is not a matter of course for Ireland. All the best wishes for 2020, best regards, Angela_*

*_Hallo Klaus, ich freue mich sehr, dass du wieder 'mit dabei' warst. Du hast Recht, die Landschaften waren herrlich und oftmals scheinbar unberührte Natur. Der Park liegt sehr abseits in den Bergen, daher sind dort auch nur wenige Leute, zumindest zu meiner Zeit im Juni. Das Wäldchen mit den kleinen Wasserfällen liegt etwas versteckt, das fand ich auch besonders schön. Besonders faszinierend fand ich auch den kleinen See im Berg, wo sich die Landschaft drin spiegelt, das sah in natura noch viel schöner aus als im Video, man konnte sich gar nicht satt sehen daran :)) Und natürlich das Highlight, der 140 m hohe Wasserfall, einfach fantastisch. Für mich ein rundum gelungener Tag bei bestem Wetter, was ja nicht selbstverständlich ist für Irland. Ich wünsche dir und deiner Familie alles Gute, Glück und Gesundheit für 2020 und viele tolle Erlebnisse draußen. Beste Grüße, Angela_*

Es war auch der erste Besuch in Irland, ich war begeistert, würde nochmals in den Kerry reisen, es gäbe noch einiges zu erkunden dort :)) Ich würde wieder den Juni wählen, es ist Frühling dort und alles satt grün, sieht sehr schön aus. Später im Jahr ist dann alles braun, die Wiesen und Berge..... aber das ist auch absolut Geschmacksache, mir hatte der 'Frühling' dort mega gefallen.
