I feel like i just went on a big adventure ,what a great tour. I really liked 10:46 with all the shrimp lined up on the branch. I am really thankful for all the help you give to the fish community . I have caught a few of your live streams and learned a lot . Thank you again .
I like your Guppy tank! Its a good working tank. You could make a shrimp trap out of a plastic bottle. Same with the plecos get a square plastic bottle and put in at the bottom in the corner with an inverted top. And when you stick the net in the plecos will swim into the bottle making sure the opening is big enough for them.
That would work great for shrimp but pleco's like dark spots and most bottles are clear. Using a small cave works though. They run for shelter inside the caves and well you lift them out cave and all. It's what I do when I got to move my Cactus Pleco's from one tank to another cause carry them by hand just hurts way to much for my liking lol.
When all the guppies come to the surface for food, grab a bunch at a time with a large net. Then sort them out in separate containers. I noticed they all came to the top after the water change.
I would LOVE some dark colored cherry shrimp! every time I find a batch with the color I want the shipping is 35-40 $ alone. your guppies and plecos are beautiful too, I need to restock my community tank before long
Thanks Rafael, I do still have my Tropheus and i almost included them in this video, but it didnt really make sense so i cut it out. But they will be in and upcoming video 👍👍
Please can you do a video on this breeding fish for profit tank but include substrate, filtration, heating, lighting and stocking as I am thinking of doing something very similar👍👍👍
Man, that is a serious number of guppies in that tank, and I love the color on those red veil-tails. I think the little cloud of blood each time the Mbu chows down is going to give me nightmares, though...
Hi, looking forward to your next videos. I think bristlenose plecos males work right like swordtails, at least to me, when they have 2 or 3 other dominant males on the aquarium the other males dont develop their bristles ( This ended up with me discovering that from the 7 i bought 7 were males, as i only figured it our when i put one in each aquarium and they developed lots os bristles).
Steenfott Aquatics sorry, guppy grass? is that food for guppies or a 'playground'. the latter was a joke but really I don't know what you are talking about
LOL probably have you labeled as the weird fish guy. It's funny I use to have about 9 tanks setup in my bed room two of which were 135 gallons and my uncles use to trip out. Well one day we sat and watched Everyone Loves Raymond. Not sure if you have seen that show but there is a episode where Raymond's brother Robert dates this girl and her bed room was filled with tanks but with frogs. She was the crazy frog woman. When that came up they were like thats insane who would want so many animals in there bedroom.... I stayed quiet and they just looked at me and started laughing. But yea crazy fish guy across the street you are to them i bet. lol
I ran into my other neighbor across the street while i was on my way to the hardware store before a storm. Told him i was buying a generator. He laughed and said "cant lose your internet and tv" I said screw all that i got to get it for my fish!! He just shook his head laughing.
Agree your Cherry Shrimp are so coloured up. glad that your dog is on the mend. Good LFS to take all your Cherry shrimp that will help with the vet bills. What did you drop in that caused the feeding frenzy
Woot, more videos is good. If you release them consistently that draws viewers consistently, youtube will promote your vids. But you can't just shotgun them where you're just releasing 10 a day and then do nothing for the next two and you can't just do 1 on and off for weeks either. Just be consistent. The hard part is doing that and keep the viewers drawn in. It can be hard. As I totally slacked last week.
hi Bob. I enjoyed this video. I breed 3/4 black turquoise deltas. I have not gotten very many to breed true, I have more lavenders and powder blue delta ones. I am still working on them to breed true with grand daughters, etc.
Go visit Cory and feed his goldfish some of that duckweed! That's the easy solution. If they eat some shrimp and guppy fry in the process its just some extra protein!
Nice guppies and shrimp. Duckweed sucks. Get a couple of goldfish in there .Also I see you have some pond plants like tape grass .Try growing some riccia .It gives a good place for the shrimp to feed and for babies to hide.Maybe you already know that .This is my first time to your channel. So pardon the ignorant comment if you already know this stuff.
Bob, I have been wanting to set up a tank like this with cherry shrimp guppies bristle nose and lots of Java Moss. I already have about a hundred shrimp but do you think the shrimp population would continue to grow with all those guppies? I have introduced a few shrimp to my guppy tank before and they were quickly eaten.
Bristlenose fry will feed off the mulm that gathers on decor or the tank bottom as well as food fed to the parents. If you notice his tank has multiple generations of BN in there so trying to feed just fry in that tank without the million shrimp, thousand guppies and several dozen bigger BN's eating that food would be impossible.
Good stuff as always man, so glad your puppers is on the mend! I sure wish I was local, those red BN's look amazing, would love to have them in my tank!
'Would I be interested in 3 videos a week' Of course I would be interested in more content from one of my favorite TH-cam aquarium hobbyist! ;) To be honest, you could post a 30 minute video of a tank draining for a water change and I'd watch every second.
I got the same amount for all of them. $2.50 each. The agreement is $2.50 no matter the size. Which is nice because i can just drop of a billion little guy if i need to.
Glad to see the pooch up and about! Selling to your LFS - Do you just pitch up with bags of fish, or do you have a prior agreement? Every LFS I've been to when I've told them I breed Discus and a few others show zero interest. I've only ever sold on ebay / facebook groups etc which I don't like as you get all kinds of people turning up at your house!! :-)
Yea, i generally dont let people come to my house the first time, always meet somewhere close. As far as selling, i have a good relationship with all my lfs so i just show up with fish at this point. Took awhile to get to that point though.
I was already going to the store on a weekly basis so i was able to build a good relationship that way. After a few months it just came up one visit when he was short on guppies.
@Steenfott Aquatics - Do you think it's better to stick with one strain of guppy per tank for profit or just get a bunch and let them interbreed? I'm guessing my lFS doens't want 20 of the exact same guppy, but if I have a wide variety they may buy more. Thoughts? Great vids
In my experience, when selling to local fish stores. Mixed strains and colors sell faster than specialty strains. Sure you get less per fish but you should be producing a lot more.
Those white Honduran red points fry are leuistics ... I had bought a pair that was half reg and half leustics one time but I don't think they were a pair
***** yeaa...idk man it depends on the people who are looking for it....i know its a little hard to find true HRP any where around me i was lucky and seen a pair in a petstore when i attend the 2014 ACA convention...
ok so the guppies don't eat the shrimp because the guppies mouth is to small? I've been very interested in breeding cherry shrimp but thought it would be kind of eye sore just whiching shrimp
Guppy grass- you are dead to me! Bahaha 😂 i think you and cory have started a puffer phenomenon... i could watch puffers eat 24/7. I didnt know plecos puncture bags... *sighs* no ordering one online for me then :( i'll have to drive. When it warms up!!
Smaller plecos generally are ok, and most people that ship use thicker bags for plecos, but i am not an expert shipper so i dont trust myself. Its funny about the mbu puffer, everything you read online says they are super aggresive and cant be with other fish. I think Cory and i are proving that wrong.
AnimalGEEKoGirl guppy grass is a longer plant... super easy to grow but provides good hiding places for fry... it floats in long threads. It can help remove nitrates... Duckweed is pesky - tiny little leaves that float on top of the water and spreads like wild fire... its good in helping eliminate nitrates but is more often seem as a pest :) i prefer frogbit ;)
Love your guppy tank. Awesome puffer and your fish room is amazing and once again another great video Bob 😀🐠🐟
Thanks again Mcallisters, always glad to know some people like them 👍👍

+Happy fishguy thanks Happy Fishguy, really appreciate it.

Stephen Bamber thats a good idea. thank you

+Gabriel V or a pipe, then lift one side up and the one that points down to the net :)
Nice update Bob...I love seeing the updates on the guppy tank so keep those coming...
Should be a steady stream of them coming, maybe not weekly but definitely bi-weekly.
Hooray for rediscovering TANK MEDITATION. I was enjoying that bit on this end also. Love that your pup is on the mend! Three vids? GREAT idea.
Thanks Vicki 👍👍
When all the guppies come to the surface for food, grab a bunch at a time with a large net. Then sort them out in separate containers. I noticed they all came to the top after the water change.
That would be easier, ill give it a shot next time, thanks for the tip =)
*****
You're welcome :-)
Yes on three vids! Such a cute doggie...
RescueDogTreats I think I am going to try
I would LOVE some dark colored cherry shrimp! every time I find a batch with the color I want the shipping is 35-40 $ alone. your guppies and plecos are beautiful too, I need to restock my community tank before long
never disappointed with these videos
Good to hear Jesse 👍👍
Yo dude. Best recovery to your pooch. Thank you for being so caring about your animals!
Thank you Sebastian, been my best friend for ten years, certainly do whatever it takes 👍👍
Hello Bob! Really love your videos. Calm guy with an awesome fishroom.
Absolutely 3 Videos per week! 😊
Thank you Zack, i think i am going to try 👍👍
that was awesome when your puffer was eating those snails lol I'm glad to see your pup moving around
I am glad she is moving around too, night and day difference between the first and second surgery 👍
Hi Steen.. wow you have a ton of guppies!! How many generations are in there?? Crazy shrimp too.. wow!
Well, i dont think i can really know how many generations are in there. I am not even sure if the the original group is in there lol.
I would definitely be interested in some cherry shrimp man. love your videos
I am not shipping any currently, but maybe in the spring when temps are a littler warmer.
yesssssssss 3 videos a week for sure
Would always enjoy more videos!
You know I have watched just about every breeding fish for profit video and never seen you LFS.haha
weekly updates of the 55 would be awesome.
Not much changes in there weekly, i will probably do bi-weekly, or maybe just quickly cover it.
Three videos a week would be great! I enjoy every one. Do you still have your Tropheus? I wish you and your dog good health.
You are doing a series on it too? AWESOME! \o/
Yea i have been doing updates on it slowly over time 👍👍
love the vids much love from canada! keep up the hard work
Thank you =)
nice! thats a cool tank...cant wait until i have one that well seasoned. look forward to more vids.
Thanks Cichlid, it got kind of fun to see just how much abuse it could take without compromising water quality.
yessssssss, I can't wait to watch this man
Man, that is a serious number of guppies in that tank, and I love the color on those red veil-tails. I think the little cloud of blood each time the Mbu chows down is going to give me nightmares, though...
I am always amazed at the amount of blood that squirts out.
For some reason that tank has the illusion of being larger than 55 gallons. Great vid.
Greentea I feel that way about most tanks I see on youtube. They always look bigger to me.
It was aewsome how honest you were on the end of the video. Subscribed.
Hi, looking forward to your next videos. Hmm, that is interesting, something new to research!! Thank you 👍👍
Hi Bob! I really enjoyed seeing an update on this tank. How many fish/shrimp/plants did you start with?
Hi Scott, I started with 12 guppy fry, about 20 cherry shrimp, and a handful of guppy grass 👍
Steenfott Aquatics sorry, guppy grass? is that food for guppies or a 'playground'. the latter was a joke but really I don't know what you are talking about
thank you very much for these videos!!! I have set up 2 tanks based off of this set up with a few changes and added my touch. thanks again!!
Glad you enjoyed it =)
Steenfott Aquatics brother can u sell me some nice colors guppies fish.? I’m in AZ bro .
The house across the street is very festive. I saw it in one of your earlier videos so had to comment.
The Ultimate they are new neighbors. I wonder what they think when they look in my Window lol
LOL probably have you labeled as the weird fish guy. It's funny I use to have about 9 tanks setup in my bed room two of which were 135 gallons and my uncles use to trip out. ***** Wonder if he laughed cause he thinks your weird or cause he thinks your making up a smart remark lol Funny either way.
Thanks for posting! I'd love to see more videos on your fish for profit series!
I'll probably only do this about once a month. Honestly not a lot changes from week to week so i dont know how exciting that would be.
Agree your Cherry Shrimp are so coloured up. glad that your dog is on the mend. Good LFS to take all your Cherry shrimp that will help with the vet bills. What did you drop in that caused the feeding frenzy
Thanks Paul, that was repashy, they always go crazy for it.
What type of repashy Bob as here in UK looking on Ebay loads it looked like a large piece?
OMG Soooooo many shrimp!
I really was surprised with how many once i was able to see lol
Awesome video Bob, tanks are looking better. Great to see your pup up and moving and in what seemed to be great spirits! Thanks for the update
Thank you Dan, she is doing really well.
Love all the vibrant life in the guppy tank!
Great video still learning about these kinda fish thxs 4 sharing.
Thanks Reggie 👍👍
the plecos dont eat the shrimp?
Not bristlenose plecos, they are primarily herbivores.
Great video lots of different stuff going on
Thank you Joseph 👍👍
Enjoyed the video, always enjoy the plecos. what do you feed your puffer other than snails? how often do you feed snails?
Gets snails almost everyday, its the staple diet since i have a never ending supply. Frozen shrimp sometimes, other frozen foods, clams etc...
Woot, more videos is good. If you release them consistently that draws viewers consistently, youtube will promote your vids. Yea, youtube really punishes you when you miss a video.
Wow! that's quite a few shrimp! LOL
great guppy tank
+nidhin chandran2121 Thank you :)
Wish I could get bob to sell me a trio of his red guppies they look awesome
hi Bob. I enjoyed this video. I breed 3/4 black turquoise deltas. I have not gotten very many to breed true, I have more lavenders and powder blue delta ones. I am still working on them to breed true with grand daughters, etc.
Awesome, i subbed to your channel so i can see updates =)
Steenfott Aquatics thanks I'll do my best to post updates
color me jealous of those ample stocks :) grats man on the bounty
Thank you Dwain 👍👍
i would be interested in about 2 plecos 10 cherry shrimp and 5 guppies
I'm not sure if you if you said it but I didn't catch it. What kind of plants were in both of the tanks you showed? Other than the duck weed.
Case Aquatics13 he said he had some guppy grass. Idk what else.
Go visit Cory and feed his goldfish some of that duckweed! That's the easy solution. If they eat some shrimp and guppy fry in the process its just some extra protein!
Goldfish would make quick work of everything in that tank lol
I would love to purchase some albino bushy noses
I was wondering how much do you usually get per shrimp, plecos, and guppies
How long has it been set up and how many shrimp did you start with??!
Love your work bro :)
+mycichlidz thank you :)
I've wanted Red velvets and black moscows but can't find any around me. Just going to half to order.
I have that problem too, no Black Moscows anywhere here =(
Great Video!
Thanks again Tommie 👍👍
Pretty pooch 👍
Bob, I have been wanting to set up a tank like this with cherry shrimp guppies bristle nose and lots of Java Moss. I already have about a hundred shrimp but do you think the shrimp population would continue to grow with all those guppies? I have introduced a few shrimp to my guppy tank before and they were quickly eaten.
As long as you have enough java moss, and feed a lot, you should be ok. I feed my tank a lot so maybe thats why they dont really go after the shrimp.
Do you place the price on your fish or does the pet store tell you what they will pay?
It was a negotiation, one thing to remember is they can buy wholesale, so you have to compete with those prices.
Cool update. quick question what do u feed your bristlenose fry??
Bristlenose fry will feed off the mulm that gathers on decor or the tank bottom as well as food fed to the parents. If you notice his tank has multiple generations of BN in there so trying to feed just fry in that tank without the million shrimp, thousand guppies and several dozen bigger BN's eating that food would be impossible.
209Control I feed huge pieces of repashy, entire cans of green beens, the aquarium coop fry food, and a ton of flake flood.
Can i breed mollies and red cherry shrimp in same tank
Good stuff as always man, so glad your puppers is on the mend! I sure wish I was local, those red BN's look amazing, would love to have them in my tank!
Thanks paparker 👍The nice thing about the super red bns is they only get better with age.
Do u ship fish i would love to buy like 40 adult guppies and alot of plecos
'Would I be interested in 3 videos a week' Of course I would be interested in more content from one of my favorite TH-cam aquarium hobbyist! ;) To be honest, you could post a 30 minute video of a tank draining for a water change and I'd watch every second.
Ha! thats awesome, thanks Lee 👍👍
wher those rainbow fish with the puffer if so what kind
Do you trap your shrimp or net them when taking them out of the tank?
Susan for SLC Aquatics I net mine
Thanks Neon Tetra Aquarist. :D
why do people always put duckweed in their tank then regret it and try to take it out?
I would bet most people do not intentionally put it in their tanks. It sneaked in on me.
The shrimp you have are very low quality red cherry shrimp my local lfs has really high grade for 2 for $4 but nicely done with the guppies
How much did your bristlenose sell for? The 2.5 and the smaller knes
I got the same amount for all of them. $2.50 each. The agreement is $2.50 no matter the size. Which is nice because i can just drop of a billion little guy if i need to.
rock on!
Nice video.
Thanks rich 👍👍
Glad to see the pooch up and about!
Selling to your LFS - Do you just pitch up with bags of fish, or do you have a prior agreement? Every LFS I've been to when I've told them I breed Discus and a few others show zero interest. I've only ever sold on ebay / facebook groups etc which I don't like as you get all kinds of people turning up at your house!! :-)
Yea, i generally dont let people come to my house the first time, always meet somewhere close. As far as selling, i have a good relationship with all my lfs so i just show up with fish at this point. Took awhile to get to that point though.
She's beaufitul!
Do you have any specific guppy strains in mind you are considering switching the reds with?
Maybe the black moscows, or purple ones. Nothing too high end otherwise they wont sell well in a retail store.
nice tank. An inspiration. What do you feed red cherry shrimps?
They get whatever is left over, but i over feed this tank so there is always some sort of food in there.
Steenfott Aquatics thank you for reply. UV sterilizer helps with algae bloom. It worked for me. Changing water is such a pain.
What kind of puffer is that
How do you get your local pet store to buy them? Any tips on convincing? Thanks
How do I avoid mutts/brown fish. Can I just mix to completely different guppies?
Nice Vid Bob I reckon 3 Vids a week would be dope i would watch it for sure 👍
Thank you, and good to know 👍👍
Those white Honduran red points fry are leuistics ... I had bought a pair that was half reg and half leustics one time but I don't think they were a pair
Rico Suave interesting, I might have to keep those then. does it raise their value at all?
***** yeaa...idk man it depends on the people who are looking for it....i know its a little hard to find true HRP any where around me i was lucky and seen a pair in a petstore when i attend the 2014 ACA convention...
Thats the only reason i hang on to this pair, they are true HRP, most are crossed with something these days. Still pretty neat anyways
Hi, are u still not shipping/selling to people that are not local
are bristlenose plecos free breeding there?
How do you find out whole prices
Thanks for another great video. I might bookmark this one to watch for when I feel bad about how messy my aquariums are. LOL
Loren Clarke ha! glad I can be there for you
how does he clean the fish waste?
the best set up is one that pays.
Good point lol 👍👍
ok so the guppies don't eat the shrimp because the guppies mouth is to small? I've been very interested in breeding cherry shrimp but thought it would be kind of eye sore just whiching shrimp
Keep the guppies well fed, you may lose some shrimplets but if you provide enough places to hide they should do well.
I would also be interested In some female guppies
sooooo do you ship fish id love to buy some lol
The guppies are beautiful! awesome Delta tails on those reds! I've never raised cherry shrimp. I'm thinking about it though.
wowowow guppys !!:3
👍👍
Nice guppies. Which strain is it?
bimej pudusserry they are red delta guppies
Do you have panda guppies?
What was it that put in and you said that was a feeding frenzy it was 10:56 in
That was repashy soilent green =)
maybe when it gets warmer would you be interested in selling shrimp
Possibly, its definitely something i am looking into.
How long will it take for those plecos to reach that size ?
Thanks
For me it takes months, probably 4-5 months. Some people can grow them faster with feeding and lots of water chagnes.
What store do u sell ur fish?
Laura what does Guppygrass (duckweed) do?
AnimalGEEKoGirl guppy grass is a longer plant... super easy to grow but provides good hiding places for fry... it floats in long threads. It can help remove nitrates... Duckweed is pesky - tiny little leaves that float on top of the water and spreads like wild fire... its good in helping eliminate nitrates but is more often seem as a pest :) i prefer frogbit ;)
Laura thanks
Laura thanks for explaining that
Hey bob do you need to inject CO2 for the guppy grass? Is it a low light plant?
Its generally a low tech plant, certainly no co2. Since it floats its usually up by the light so it doesnt need much there either.
Steenfott Aquatics thanks
What kind of puffer? amazon?
+LFCooledWhip Mbu puffer :)
