Darren I quite frequently don't agree with your picks (but quite frequently do, too, of course) - but I always watch your vids specifically because you actually put your own true/honest self into the brief discussion of each movie - and you don't talk about shit hyperbolically, but instead always make it a point to acknowledge whatever lameness or weaknesses a movie has going on with it - not really _apologizing_ for having it on your list, per se, but being totally straight-up and transparent about how good or bad the thing is overall.
That lets us not have to decode/translate some b.s. undue praise of a movie into the honest truth about it - and instead focus only on what may (or may not 😅) be interesting to us about why it made this particular list.
Appreciated. Even your ad spots are done well, lol. 👍
Have you checked out the Russian films Night Watch (2004) and Day Watch (2006)? I feel like these are right up your alley.
Sick was also another good one and Becky.
Have you ever seen the movie "Martin"? From the 70s. A VERY specific type of "vampire" movie as well. Pretty disturbing even without all of our modern adons. Thanks for the vid. Oh yeah! The Little Things is excellent. I love both those guys.🤘🏼😳 On the Line is really something🫢 And yeah those last 2 are right on the money! Both of them are so well acted and presented...and truly frightening to imagine being in those situations. Mark Menchaca, the freaky stalker dude in Alone is damn good too. And he's got a lot of recent movies. A couple more terror flicks. Ones got one helluva monster in it. Unique. Maybe the true first of it's kind lol.
I just watch two good movies last night and I'm a big horror movie fan. The first one is called, "Invasive" it's on Tubi. Really good! Lot's of twists and turns. And the other movie is called, "Night watch: Demons are Forever". "Old People" is good to!
All I can say about Bodies Bodies Bodies is that the ending is EVERYTHING. That made me love this movie!
Bodies Bodies hated all the characters immediately was supremely disappointed that anyone survived
Movie was dumb all the way thru
Same!
Excellent FLICK CONNECTION Darren. You’ve certainly selected some great recommendations for us. Much appreciated 👍👍👍
You're a gem. This looks like a fantastic list, I have so much on the backlog of things to watch but this list makes me want to put all of those aside. Another great video.
Love it when you take risks like with your number 5 and 6 pics. It keeps things refreshing and gives us some new directions to consider.
Also, over the years you've earned our trust. So most of us are listening.
Thanks for all the work you put into this.
Now I'm off for my subscription to that mailing list that's way overdue...
Bodies Bodies Bodies was really fun!!!
thanks for the recommendation of Run Lola Run - can't believe how good it was and why I'd never really heard of it prior
Great list, great job explaining before Bodies Bodies Bodies. It was way better than was talked about by other reviewers. I plan on checking out The Call, Dampyr, On the Line & Alone. Keep up the great work!
I’m beginning to think a lot of reviewers are just trying to be edgy contrarians when it comes to good horror movies that appeal to a wide audience.
Love your videos, you always have solid recommendations!
Bad words was HYSTERICAL I GOTTA WARCH THAT AGAIN. THE ONE LINE ZINGERS WERE HILARIOUS.
Jason Bateman does a fantastic job of being a jerk!
😮I suggest you skip the icky alley call girl part 🤦♀️ 👎
Maybe my favorite of the last decade. Friggin Classic.
@@tiananesbitt7156 shut up
Your transitions to sponsors are absolutely flawless. You get me every time! 😂
Darren, your lists are brilliant and speak to my soul! When I started noticing you had the same feelings on several lesser known films as I did, I knew I could trust your suggestions on stuff I hadn't seen. Thank you for the treasure trove of new favourites I now get to watch. I have one ask: please do an episode on lesser known comedies! Something tells me you'd be as on the money with that category. Keep up the fantastic work, a new fan.
"The Little Things" was pretty good, I've only seen that and "Fear" from this list. Thanks for the recommendations!
Movie was garbage especially the ending
Really appreciate you taking risks and identifying them when you do.
Another great list Darren, thanks. I think the Little Things is going to be my flik tonight
You've always got lots I've never seen (i thought i was a movie guy 😅) thanks bro 🤙🤙 your hard work is appreciated 🤙
Baby Reindeer is addictive. Be warned. It’s almost impossible to look away! And it is a true story! It’s a series and I think it has eight episodes.
Trash
I ended binge watching the whole series in one day. I couldn't turn it off.
Isn't the stalker women sueing because of this ? Like it doesn't mean it didn't happen literally anyone can sue for any reason but it does put a wrinkle in the story doesn't it
Yeah pretty much the whole story was untrue the actual woman came out and an interview with piers Morgan I’m sure a lawsuit will follow
It was OK 4/10
you've got me absolutely intrigued about On The Line, I need to see it now
Lover Stalker Killer is absolutely CRAZY
Be prepared to be Mad 😡
I was so against watching bodies bodies but when I finally did I was laughing my ass off after the final scene. The best twist at the end ever. lol
Thank you for this information. I never seen Fear I will watch it! Have a great day!
Alone was actually really good especially the end oh my !
Just subbed. Like your straight to the point, but not too revealing approach. That and you're easy on the eyes as well.
Well presented episode.
I was suprised by Dampyr, better than expected. Bad Words is a huge favorite. Jason Bateman is awesome.
Thank you Darren. 😊
I saw where On the Line was going and the ending but I still liked it.
Bad words, absolutely amazing.
Bodies Bodies Bodies, you nailed it on the review/ recommendation...
Count me in the " I hated the ending" camp for On The Line. It's a good movie for 90% of the run time. But that type of ending ALWAYS makes me crazy.
I know he has Bodies Bodies Bodies on here that actually made that False narrative ending work and then on the line that didn't make it work I think the difference between the two is Bodies the joke was on them with line the joke feels like it's on us the viewers
I just watched Alone after your recommendation and it was intense. Very realistic and the actress who plays Jess was so relatable and did a great job. I watch a lot of horror and this is the only kind that scares me because it could actually happen.
I love the chapter titles!
Several of the films on this list, I actually started watching them and ditched them. And I was not even tempted by "Alone", but now I am intrigued. So I now have a couple to revisit and one to check out. I liked your side recommendations as well, Baby reindeer I will give it a shot too. Have a great week DVD.
Yep, Bad Words is legitimately one of the most underrated comedies in the last decade, fully agreed.
The Call was very entertaining. Worth the watch 🍿🍿🍿
You’ve done it again. Thanks DVD❤!
After I saw everything everywhere all at once, the “but it’s a low budget movie” excuse doesn’t fly. You just need a good story and creative people. Coherence is another example. That movie was made for like $10 and it was incredible.
Bodies Bodies Bodies: The Millennial one liners are superb and worth the admission
The Little Things: nice balance of hitting the brakes and stomping on the gas
The Call: South Korean Horror should be it's own category. Somehow my skin crawls from the crazy
On The Line: Ummmm .... the more I think about it the more I don't want to
Alone: Yup, well deserved as first on the list. Outstanding. Just goes to show that the old 'make actors do dumb things to move the plot along' doesn't work anymore.
Yeah with Bodies Bodies Bodies the twist ending worked but with on the Line that ending just made me mad😰 😡 other movies I Hated because the ending sucked the Game with Michael Douglas ends just like this one uncut Gems Adam Sandler gets shot Pig the Pig died A Quiet Place they stop the movie and fade to Black right when monsters are attacking the house sequel didn't explain how they got out of the house and also ended unresolved and last but not April Fools Day there was no Killer it was all a joke 🙄 but Bodies Bodies Bodies works also I think the movie Cry Wolf worked too
is that alien shirt one of ur designs? oooh i want one . . . edit on typing that i thought hold on doesnt he sell them i think i member from one of ur great vids i always get at least one thing to watch from is that true as i cant find anything?
I loved On The Line. The twist was great.
Bad Words was terrific
Alone was a phenomenal movie and quite a surprise too as I never heard of it before it showed up on Netflix.
Hitcher “80’s” still is a really good one
Agreed! Atmosphere is thick enough to cut! And a 4k edition should be coming this year from Second Sight films! Excited for it! 😎👍
Darren, good call on Bodies, Bodies Bodies. You nailed it.
Lover stalker killer was wild!!
There was only three movies on this list,I’ve never seen. I’ll check those out.
Cool stuff👍
Thank you so much for your recommendations here. Between you and Ghost Pirate Entertainment I get to watch just fantastic horror and thriller gems daily!
I'll Second that, just came from there and his latest Tubi List 😎👍
When it comes to Ghost Pirate Entertainment I highly.. Highly…. **HIGHLY!!!!** recommend.
@@mikeappleget482 I highly, highly HIGHLY!!! Agree 😎👍
The Call was SO good! Such a F*cked up story!
I also loved Bad Words. Brilliant performance from Jason Bateman
So true about Bodies Bodies Bodies. I was ready to hate it when I put it on, and I hated it until it really got going. Then it won me over, and gave me one of the funniest ending reveals I've seen in a long time.
Bad words is really good!
I really enjoyed Bad Words!! Good choice!!
Could you also do 'best revenge movies' sometime in the future, please!
The Stranger is fabulous!! Fast pace. On Hulu. A ride share driver is stalked by her last rider of the night. Talk about gripping!!! A must see
Keep at it 💜😍
Dampyr is based in a very popular Italian comic book, from Bonelli Comics.
The Dampry books had a limited run in the United States until the rest of the series were made in Italian only sad for horror comic collector geeks like me.
Thanks D!!👍🏼😎
I loved "The Little Things", it was quite enjoyable. But, definitely a one-time watch.
I liked the Call
On the line was great. For me it kept me on my seat while i played my pc games. Which for me is what can make or break a movie, if i cant multitask then its usually not for me or not a great movie. On the line however was perfect for multi-tasking, it pulled you in just enough to keep you interested.
Alone is JAWESOME !!
I just watched " On the Line", I don't know what to say but I want other people to watch it with me so that I won't be the only one, definitely have to share it! 🤔🤔🤔
Bodies Bodies Bodies is great!
Interesting list.
Which one should I watch first? (Which one is the funnest & most enjoyable to watch)?
Bodies,Bodies,Bodies ???
*Subscribed!
Bodies Bodies Bodies is a dark comedy.
No spoilers but I LOVED the end of Bodies Bodies Bodies!
How would that be a spoiler? You can just say you love it without it ruining anything.
Alone was fantastic. I think the same people also made a movie called Sick which was also fantastic. I would also recommend a low budget movie called No Exit that came out fairly recently that was again really good.
Adam Brody was great in Kid Detective
ah finally something I haven't seen before..I got them on my list.....
Surprised neon demon isn't up on Netflix. If it is it should surely qualify.
I loved how the ending of bodies bodies bodies, really complimented the chaotic nature build up of the film. It wasn't brilliant or anything, but it's so gen z.. I really enjoyed it .
I looooved "the call"
THANKS
I love how On The Line ended lol
I really liked Bodies Bodies Bodies.
I thought that Walberg was great in FEAR, when I saw it when it came out.
I enjoyed Dampyr a lot more than I expected to, it was a fun escape and more original and better budgeted than most vampire flicks.
Not one of the recommendations were available in my region!
I absolutely love ❤ Bad Words. HILARIOUS and well acted by Bateman.
He is underated .
Terrific list. I just finished a German six episode series on Netflix titled, "Dear Child". A Definite Must Watch! Psychological, serial murder, thriller as only the Germans can make! It is dubbed for those who do not like subtitles.
Dampyr was just awful.
It was so boring I couldn’t finish it
I like bad movies, but Dampyr was just absolutely horrible.
Lol just when i was fantasizing about a movie and my eyes read this comment
"Little Things" was great. If you expect Jared Leto no to step on the gas you gotta give him a Festiva. Dude, I loved 'On Air" after about the 3rd time viewing, cuz I hated it the first time. especially that ending. Lover, Stalker, Killer was awesome. Kept me guessing for a while, but it was staring in the face all along. 'Fear" rocks, but it's old as hell. Haven't seen 'Alone" but since I'm gelling with your picks I'm gonna search it out. Thanks.
Bad words is awesome. Saw it when it first got released to dvd. Now I own it.
Stop looking at me!
I have found SO many amazing Korean horror films on Netflix! FORGOTTEN is a twisty thriller. Others are: UNLOCKED;, I SAW THE DEVIL, BALLERINA.
Darren’s favorite type of movie…
The Little Things was an awesome flick.
One movie, I think was a Netflix original that was entertaining and twisted is the The Perfection, it really cracked me up at times.
We liked On The Line!
Agree with On The LIne.... movie was just fun. Don't take it more seriously then it took itself!
I love bad words was hilarious i was literally on the floor laughing when i first saw this movie.
Lover, Stalker, Killer was a good and unsettling watch.
Justin Bateman is underrate. He is great in everything he does
The Little Things was not good. However, it did give me great memories. I watched it with the most positive, selfless, loving person I've ever met, my wife. By the end of it, she almost swore about how bad it was. She never complains, but that slog fest really got her goat. It blows goats, don't waste your time
Damper yes
On the Line was Great!!!
Surprised to not see FORGOTTEN on this list. Very trippy, slow burn, mindf*ck!!!
I loved the movie fear!
Hey Darren. For the movie 'Bodies Bodies Bodies' you mean Gen-Z, not millennials. The youngest millennial today is 28 years old and the oldest is 42. I'm 36, i am a millennial.
A college student right now or, under the age of 28 will be Gen-Z aka Zoomers. I know time flies! 🙈 6:40
I love you and I love your channel! Thank you for the recommendations!
In reference to Bodies Bodies Bodies...
Gen X > Gen Z, Change my mind (I'm stuck in-between as an elder Millennial. Everything is our fault)
I think that the tagine for GenX should be: We didn't start the fire. We just pointed and made snarky comments about it afterwards.
I really liked The Call
But I'm biased, love my Korean movies/shows
I am the opposite. I avoid Asian movies like the plague…
The Leto things 🤣 I thought it was a twisted docu on Jared
Fire whoever writes the chapters man, they're way off!
If you want a great acction movie THE AGGRESSION SCALE ! its the ONE !!
Bad Words is a hilarious comedy movie. Must watch.
