Thank you very much for this video. I've never taken my car to a car wash, I've had it hand washed, so I was unsure how to do it. I had an idea about putting in neutral, I've always used manual transmission vehicles all my life but one car. So, I was worried about it moving while it was on the conveyor. I see you didn't touch the breaks and just let it go till the end. I'm so grateful to you for this video, it set my mind at ease.
I'll never forget the day my older brother was pissed off and having a terrible and stressful day. He was giving me a ride somewhere in his manual transmission Beamer while he was on the phone. He stopped at a stop sign at the end of our street. His *other* phone rings, which he answers. Here he is, trying to maintain two phone calls at the same time, put the vehicle in gear with a phone in both hands, get the vehicle rolling, and shift into second gear. All while having one of the most stressful days anyone has ever had.
I have a problem shifting smooth with shoes that are harder than other. I can get used to it but I switch from hard to soft shoe or soft to hard shoe my memory forgets where the bite point is
@Mase Rati I have some shoes where it's a little harder than others but after a week I'll get used to it. I shift fine I mean it's been awhile since I stalled my own car
Dumping the clutch too fast rather than too slow is fine, the gears are near bulletproof but the clutch wears, don't be afraid to release to where the car lurches a bit catching the bite point, the thing you don't want to do is hold the gas with the bite point slightly engaged.
All is right with the world. Thank you most revered stick shift driver.

Try driving a manual and eating a hamburger at the same time - often have to ask the passenger to change gear.
Europeans be like :
So just another normal day?
@@eddiewillers1 Keep practicing. I've driven and changed gear with just one had, my left hand even.
All of Europe is amazed this video is even required 🤣
Eh - Americans still think a manual is 'exotic' 🙂
@@eddiewillers1 yet you guys wish you were us
@@jzila9900 Well, to be fair, most of us Canucks do.
@@eddiewillers1 nice

I know exactly what you are talking about, I thought it was just me! I like driving in my crocs, and then changing to my shoes when I get out.

@jayhosh8126 yeah I keep reminding myself not to be so slow with lifting the clutch. I think I'm just trying to be perfect
