Jack Leedham you have to understand, driving a stick is a very difficult thing to do especially when you are following good practices to save life on the cars parts. If it was easy, everyone would have one giving the fact that everyone has automatics nowadays. Learning to drive a manual is as difficult as learn mathematics. You have to have an analytical mind to excel at it. I respect this guy because most people cant or would never even get into a manual transmission due to the level of difficulty.
not everyone is like you bro, but good for you! i even learn how to drive m/t in a day and be good at it in a week. like i said not everyone is the same.
Mastering this skill also opens up a lot more options when shopping for a car. Another added benefit is that standard shift cars are generally cheaper.
And don’t forget great gas mileage, at least on older vehicles. I had to buy a used car recently, and was able to get a great deal on a 2008 Civic four-door manual. The guy at the lot told me they had gotten three of those Civics, and the first two were gone in a day because they were automatics. The only reason the one I ended up getting was still there was because it was a manual.
You can’t even imagine how much this video helped me. Thank you so much. I’ve always wanted to learn but nobody would show me. But thanks to this I can finally drive a stick
I'm a woman in my 50's, my dad was a mechanic, all of us girls could drive a stick, it's what we learned on. Thanks for doing this video, I think everyone should learn to drive a stick first, it makes you a better driver.
Nice! I have an 08’ Civic. It’s such a great vehicle to learn on due to its buttery smooth clutch. Most standards aren’t that easy to drive, so this is perfect to learn on.
In a commercial vehicle, first gear is always all the way to the left and down, and reverse is all the way left and up. Also, in low gear you can ease your foot off of the clutch pedal without touching the accelerator and the vehicle will roll.
