I think a good storyline for Zoe in season 6 is the way her crush on Marinette has impacted her friendship with her, since confessing a crush to someone, specially if it’s a close friend, does often change the dynamic. I swear Zoe has SO many potential storylines and if the writers don’t use any of them she’s just gonna become wasted potential
Not gonna happen buddy. Also wdym much potential? She‘s just here to replace Chloe because Asstruc messed up her entire character. Zoe is the most boring character out of all of them. Her having a crush on Mari is for queer-bait-purposes only
@Jai05 Zoe is a nothing burger tho like really half-sister why not just make her the little sister instead and the fact that she just gets the bee miraculous out of nowhere s pretty bad and she has a crush on marionette that is truly pointless because we know she gonna be with Adrien the writers really like to force that ship I would believe Zoe to be with the weather girl then marionette to be honest and the fact that she moved to a different class and not apart of the friend group says alot she just a boring chloe with a lamer version of chloe backstory she was doomed from the start just there to be a replacement with no thought heck they basically discard zoe once she no longer useful for the writing
Zoenette is very cute as a concept and it gives a lot of depth to Zoe. In season 4 I had issue with Zoe that she is not a person on her own - she was Chloe's sister. Talking about Zoe in season 4 was impossible to not mention Chloe. Other sibling of already known characters never had such issue - Luka barerly was considered as just "Juleka's brother", while Zoe was all the time "Chole's sister". I'm happy that season 5 gave her more of this oompf she desperately needed. I also very like that Zoenette after confesion stayed friends - it is so often when people totally split apart after rejection and seeing them still being friends is wholesome.
I love Miraculous Ladybug, but the problem with the later seasons is they wanted to up the complexity of their writing but didn't level up their writing skills. Marinette and Adrien were the OTP from the beginning. In order to introduce any new potential lovers in a good story arc, it requires the new character to be in several episodes and to have an increasingly significant role throughout those episodes. The Miraculous writers don't seem to realize that complexity.
Dr. Clarke called Juleka and Marinette "Friends". I am mildly triggered by that. Considering I tend to see Juleka as a victim of Marinette's emotional manipulations surrounding Luka. (She also stole her Bicycle too).
While I find the concept of Zoenette, what baffled me the most was when they said that Zoe fell for Marinette the moment they met. In what way, was the expression on Zoe's face when she and Marinette met a look of look of love at first sight? Yes, Marinette has a way of making people fall for her with her sweet personality, but the way they describe it with Zoe makes no sense for any kind of love at first sight scenario. Zoe looked more like she was happy to make a new friend on her arrival in Paris than falling in love. However, it does makes sense that over time Zoe fell for Marinette for her kindness, generosity, compassion and all round positivity. What ruined the concept was when they suddenly said that it was love the moment they met for Zoe's case, as this makes it feel like a forced idea that was just inserted last minute as an attempt to make things more interesting by adding more romance but it just made things confusing. It makes sense that Zoe grew to adore Marinette and her confession was sweet. However, the Zoenette ship had no stable foundation or buildup to work with for its concept in the show and it looked more like a last ditch attempt to make the story more dramatic and interesting by adding another kind of love interest but it only just made things a little awkward and frustrating as it came out of nowhere. When we had characters with crushes on Marinette like Mino and Nathaniel in the first season, the foundation and transitions for theirs made sense with the story in a way but with Zoe's it just came out of nowhere. If they had maybe just left it with them starting as friends and then showing a smoother transition of Zoe's adoration of Marinette from one of friendship to a crush which would bring us to an eventual confession then that would have worked better. Also, did anybody else feel slightly uncomfortable or a bit cringey when Marinette started going on a bit of a tangent about the idea of Zoe being in love with Adrien or is it just me? I mean, I know Marinette can overthink things but this one just felt painful to watch. Marinette is already dating Adrien for goodness sake so why would she suddenly think that a friend of hers suddenly has an interest in Adrien when she's never done so before. I don't know why but it kind of made Marinette come of as possessive and not really in the best light as well as somewhat likely to think that every girl she and/or Adrien interacts with is suddenly interested in him. Anyway, Zoenette is a cute ship but the way they went about it felt like a last ditch effort to make the show more interesting by adding more romance as a form of drama but it just made things awkward, somewhat frustrating and really made no sense with the story.
completely agree! it was a nice first meeting - for friends. and nothing more~ like you've said, it has no stable foundation. it would be far better for zoe to have said she fell gradually for her
I'm a recent Subscriber, but a longer-time admirer of your Ladybug videos. I agree that the end of Adoration is fantastic. I am not, however, as critical of the writers regarding the Zoenette storyline as you are. I think it is perfectly understandable for someone - even if they, "fall in love at first sight" - to hide their feelings for as long as possible, especially in a same-sex relationship. Remember Zoe was brought up in America, so not only would there be the usual questions (Is she interested in girls? Is she interested in me?) but there would be cultural considerations regarding the differences between France and the United States. On the other hand, Zoe does open up and relate a rather intimate detail at her very first meeting with Marinette. I can't imagine someone telling a random salesperson she had never met before that she wanted her friends to sign her shoes, but she only had one friend. This was a tentative opening by Zoe towards Marinette - and it worked! Marinette immediately gave Zoe all sorts of baked goods and invited Zoe to meet Marinette's friends. Finally, if the writers had made Zoe's feelings more explicit, it would have ruined any suspense or shock as to whose picture Zoe was holding so dear (and so private) during Adoration. The concept is cute but felt out of nowhere. There was no subtle hints about zoe having feeling towards marinette then all of a sudden in this one episode she now had feelings for her then we never heard about it again.
Personally my biggest problem is the fact that it was Marinette to begin with I frankly don't have a problem with Zoe having a crush and it being unrequited it just gets annoying that Marinette had three other people wwho loved her before hand and its getting tiring that four character like Marinette. It also annoying that it can practically out of nowhere a lot of people argue it make sens for Zoe to like marinette which yeah maybe ( personally I think just becausemarinette was the kindest doesn't mean zoe has to like Marinette ) but it's still terribly written and extremely forced it also doesn't help the fact zoe never has enough episode to not feel forced.
Agreed, lousy buildup. I'm choosing to look at it as something from Marinette's point of view. You know how if you don't have a crush on someone, you don't always catch on to the fact that that person actually likes you? I think that's possibly what they were going for. But it could've been done better. At least add in a small compilation where they show some of those scenes again but from Zoe's point of view. That's my 50c anyway.
I actually feel like Zoenette feels forced because it never indicates that Zoe likes her, not even a hint... I mean, it looks like they threw it there and showed it but you don't feel their relationship if that makes sense. What I do agree with is her confession at the end because I do love the way she gives a gentle look, showing that she loves her. It was perfect. But, where are the all details? Since when did she start liking her and how did her feelings impact her? Some fans pointed out that she smiled at her but that could mean very different (depending on the person). Btw, I laughed at what you mentioned “I smiled all the time” but that doesn't mean that you fall for every single one.
the existence of the ship is a problem not for what it is as a ship, but because it would never have gone anywhere, making it pointless to even exist if nothing could be done with it. Adoration also severely downplayed the adrinette confession, like we waited nine years for 2 seconds at the end of an episode, tikki even states later in the episode "you confessed your feelings that's huge!" almost like a "don't forget this" because of how brushed past the confession was
I don’t think it’s pointless in that sense. A lot of kids react negatively to being rejected but Zoe didn’t so I do think even though we all know it wouldn’t go anywhere that this was quite important to show for how to handle rejection but also representation
@@hazeclarke i mainly just think it was created for plot purposes and they should have given Zoe someone she could actually have a relationship with, instead of her crush on Marinette existing only to set up the plot of Marinette confessing to Adrien. Sure the representation matters but they aren't doing anything with it at the moment, it just would have been better if Zoe could actually have character development that actually went somewhere instead of just helping the main character(s). As of right now she is part of the only confirmed LGBTQ+ ship that **could** have happened, but as far as representation goes, she isn't really a great example because nothing has gone anywhere since her confession, and the ship didn't end up happening so its kinda failed representation, or just not good representation
@@gabesuniverse5566in terms of her relationship the leaked storyboard of representation had zoe introduced marinette to a girl name eglantine, which was cut from the final piece. I, like some other people suspect it to be one of lila's personas so it might actually go somewhere in season 6.
@@gabesuniverse5566 its possible the Zoenette arc will lead to Zoes sexuality and relationships being further explored, w it being a plot point to at least confirm her sexuality vaguely to begin w
Man, Zoe's presence will forever be tainted for me because it's just Chloe but redeemed in a sense. Haze: "I smile at people all the time" My internal monologue: Man, Haze must fall in love with a lot of people according to the show. haha
The use of the word "hate" on a character like Zoe that lacks development and has shown no direct threat in the show (except the ownership of this damn bee miraculous like it's a family heirloom that Chloe is entitled to) is worrisome about the judgment of this fandom. Hating a character needs a base, layers. We can't hate Zoe 😅 We can dislike her, sure but not hate
Um that’s YOUR opinion Yes u can there’s literally so many reasons ppl can “hate” her like for me. I hate Felix because he’s a horrible written character and he has no actual character at the same time.
The Adrienette confession feels so flaccid because they sucked all the tension out of it before it happened. There was no fear, no suspense, no overcoming any struggle. Marinette had a GPS, Roadmap, and Adrien had already come to pick her up and drive her there himself. 😅 Zonette kind of makes Zoé *less* cool in Transmission. Before, she was a good friend concerned about Marinette. After Adoration her 'wait... No... Don't push them together...' rings a bit differently. There's also how *late* it happens. This next bit might be personal and feel free not to respond abt it, but you talked before about Kagami and how she 'moved in' on Adrien and that hit home with you. Does Zoé confessing after she has been present for Adrien's very clear and obvious courting of Marinette not ring the same bells? I don't mine Zonette in abstract either, just execution.
for me, although feel free to disagree, it didn't. Kagami's line in frozer was very harsh and almsot agressive and she had a clear intention of what she was going to get, whereas zoe wasn't going to bother saying anything, and when she did, she had zero expectation of mari returning her feelings. to me they're approached very differently
Come on guys? We waited 5 seasons and so many years just to see the main couple adrainette together and you're giving up on it, zoe is a side character could be shipped with abyone other than Marinette
Yeah Alyanette is a platonic solemates thing of sorts so there is supposed to be an air of romance to it. Besides I think Alya/Rena has a big of a crush on Ladybug as Chloe had.

@@gabesuniverse5566 its possible the Zoenette arc will lead to Zoes sexuality and relationships being further explored, w it being a plot point to at least confirm her sexuality vaguely to begin w
how tall are you haze? just curious because I’ve grown do much lately and I want to know if I’m taller than you 😂
😂😂😂 I’m 5”8
@@hazeclarke oop Im shorter then XD
@@hazeclarke twins!!!
I stay up at night wondering why, why was she given the Cat Miraculous and not Nino? Why?
I would assume because he wasn’t alone at the time
we could've had kagami...
i think Plag tried and then he saw he was dating Alya and since the entire reason for the change was abt relationships Plag changed his mind
Because apparently Plagg loves to choose blonde rich kids who have been emotionally abuser
Man, Zoe's presence will forever be tainted for me because it's just Chloe but redeemed in a sense.
Haze: "I smile at people all the time"
My internal monologue: Man, Haze must fall in love with a lot of people according to the show. haha
I fall in love everyday apparently 🙃
The use of the word "hate" on a character like Zoe that lacks development and has shown no direct threat in the show (except the ownership of this damn bee miraculous like it's a family heirloom that Chloe is entitled to) is worrisome about the judgment of this fandom.
Hating a character needs a base, layers. We can't hate Zoe 😅
We can dislike her, sure but not hate
Oh this fandom 🙃🙃🙃 they adversely affect my blood pressure
it's why people say "hate is a very strong word".
also this fandom needs to learn not to hold grudges and forgive or at least move on lol
Um that’s YOUR opinion Yes u can there’s literally so many reasons ppl can “hate” her like for me. I hate Felix because he’s a horrible written character and he has no actual character at the same time.
Hi!
Hi!
The Adrienette confession feels so flaccid because they sucked all the tension out of it before it happened. There was no fear, no suspense, no overcoming any struggle. Marinette had a GPS, Roadmap, and Adrien had already come to pick her up and drive her there himself. 😅
Zonette kind of makes Zoé *less* cool in Transmission.
@@hazeclarke fair! I was just curious. I honestly don't have a problem with either of them in that way.
Come on guys? We waited 5 seasons and so many years just to see the main couple adrainette together and you're giving up on it, zoe is a side character could be shipped with abyone other than Marinette
Bestie you can ship anyone with anyone you want, regardless of canon~
Yes haze right that’s why there’s fan fictions so you can have a couple together.
Yeah Alyanette is a platonic solemates thing of sorts so there is supposed to be an air of romance to it.
Besides I think Alya/Rena has a big of a crush on Ladybug as Chloe had.
Tread lightly, I could unsubscribe....
Ok, not really... I love your content, but I really love this ship (if even I know that it will never go anywhere and I still like Adrienette...)
I love it too 🥰 it’s so cute 💖
My guess is if they break up next season or season 7 or onwards. Adrien will date Luka and Mari with Zoe!
While I think they will break up, I don’t think they’ll date anyone
I hate this ship just like I hate Marinette and Zoe. I want Lila to take down both of them. Both of them are these type of teenagers I hate the most.
So you hate nice people?
@@Owell_Owl Nice people like Marinette and Zoe? Yes I hate them so much.
@@Owell_Owl And your lovely Marinette is a sexist towards her own gender so don't you dare talk with me about her again. I hate Marinette much more than Lila hates her!
@@Owell_Owl And Marinette is disgusting sexist.
@@Icy-be5vl how exactly?
OMGGGG CANCELLLEEEDDDDD!1!1!11
thank you Ahmed 😂
There’s probably some fan fiction online i am assuming for this couple zory and mar.😊
Question did they ever finish the final arc of sailor moon? Please reply when you get time I am very curious
