For contact shadows you could turn on Ambient Occlusion in the render settings, unfotunately the shadow catcher can't see contact shadows so you would have to set this up without using shadow catcher

Great video!!!, quick question: is there a reason the shadow catcher material doesn't show shadows from the sky object, only from the lights? What I mean is if I let the sky object alone and turn off any other light, the alpha channel created from the shadow catcher won't show the sky object's shadows...

Very good tutorial. I am new to C4D and want to ask a quick question "how to create a 3D camera for C4D imported file in AE?". I am not talking about C4D default camera that by default imported with the scene, but I want to create a new 3D camera in AE for the 3D model, perhaps its easy for me to control the camera in AE compared to C4D.

Hi Shafqat, thanks for watching! Is it that you want to create an After Effects camera in After Effects?

@@jbmocean399 thanks for the reply. I mean to say creating a 3d camera for the 3d model that I have imported from C4D inside After Effect. For now it seems like a total still image and I want to play around that model like I freely move the camera around it in C4D. Is there a way that I create 3d models in C4D and import it into AE and after I can create a 3d camera for it in AE and play with it?

@@ShafqatKhanShafky I think the answer to your question lies in Cineware. I'm not entirely sure but I think you may be able to import the .c4d file directly intoe AE and go from there. Hope that helps!
