I love The Big Moon. I like the dorky humour in their videos. In this one, they come across as a group of old dears from the Women's Institute dressing as boybands up for a fancy dress party and having a jolly old time of it.

@@aninhamft thx, i didn't know about her. in the live footage i just see Cea and Soph take turns operating the keyboard, so i figured that they also composed and recorded those parts between the main 4 members. tbh as good as they are at their own instruments it'd be incredible if any of them were also so good with keys... so that makes sense lol. the keyboard and piano parts are essential!

Big Moon are giving us a ton of '90s music we didn't have then. I'm so glad they are filling the gaps and improving upon the sounds! Just discovered them here and loving it ;) Have heard possible influences of PJ Harvey, Breeders, Bjork, Cocteau Twins... even some early Pink Floyd or Syd Barrett in one of their songs. Production value is high and the drums sound SO GOOD in so many of the songs. Can't wait to hear more!

I truly appreciate Jules, Celia, Soph and Fern on an individual level. I also love how all 4 contirubute their vocals. I have a question: I know that Fern does percussion and keyboard, but I'm pretty there are other instruments she plays: am I correct? (I'm assuming that she is the tamborine player in "Don't Think".)
1. *SOPH* isn't there (she's here in CA!) but I wonder why she uses duct tape for her straps. Actually, I love the aesthetic with her Tele! But why not strap locks? 2. Is there anything *FERN* CAN'T do? Anything?? 3. Did *CELIA* go straight to bass, or like a lot of people start on guitar then switch. I think her playing style plays like a true bass player ;) 4. *JULES* , your 1st album has a specific style and usage of interesting chord runs in many songs (like that slide up of G-G#-A or whatever). Besides the Pixies, who do you think influences your songwriting style, if anybody. To MY ears, your songs are a refreshing style. I LOVE and APPRECIATE that you write more complicated song structures and utilize more than just Verse-chorus-verse!!!!! Thanks in advance. (P.S. Dare I say your 1st album is a masterpiece. Hi vicky 1. i think the tape just works better. nothing that cant be fixed with gaffer tape 2. She can't click her fingers (weird for a drummer) 3. celia is a bass player through and through and started on the bass (after piano for a bit) 4. I'm so glad u like our music and have listened so carefully! I love stuff like Anna Calvi, Vampire Weekend, the white stripes, Georgia, and I listen to the radio all day so anything and everything is an influence really!
